- Join me on a tour of my Hometown of Enschede in Twenthe the Netherlands. Enschede has a history with Textile Factories and you can find references to Textile Industry all over the city. Holland is a country of bicycles so I took my bike around.
The main family from the Textile Era is the van Heek Family, you will find their names everywhere. The main sports club in Enschede is FC Twente and football club in the First National League of the Netherlands (Eredivisie)

Even wat over mijzelf. Mijn naam is Jeroen, geboren en getogen in Enschede. Ben 20 jaar geleden vertrokken naar het buitenland. Heb 7 jaar in Madrid gewoont en woon nu sinds 13 jaar in Bangkok. Tijdens covid ben ik filmpjes gaan maken in Thailand en ben zo een youtube kanaal gestart. Heb 3 jaar moeten wachten om weer terug te kunnen gaan naar Enschede voor een vakantie. Even a small town, the city center is modern and have metropolitan vibes. Many architects appreciate Dutch urban planning.
I know FC Twente, a club from this city. I used to go to Venlo, another German border. Glad to know that Dutch people like Thailand.
I love your country. Been there many times for work. It’s one of the most civilised places on earth.

Enschede is awesome I lived there for one year and a half while studying at ITC and it was Fantastic......lots of fun ...great people....and a great place to live!!!! Thank you for this wonderful video :).......Regards from Medellin, Colombia.
The name Enschede comes from the old 'aen de scheide' wich means ' close to the border ' ( aan de scheiding ) with Germany.

Vaak heb ik heimwee, teruggaan is niet zo makkelijk.

The city looks very charming .. love the curved streets and alleyways .. and now we know where you got your biking expertise from haha. I really like biking too, as you can cover much more ground and see much more than walking .. but the world also doesn't pass by in a blink like in a car. Anyway, looks like a great place to raise a family and spend some quality time in life. Cheers!
Your city is so beautiful! The Bangkok area is also very flat. Right now it seems like such an impossible dream but I hope one day Bangkok could be as bike friendly as the Netherlands.

Thank you, Jeroen, for taking the time to capture and share with us so many wonderful highlights of your hometown of Enschede. The streets and townscape reminded us very much of the many positives that Belgian/Dutch/German towns provide their citizens. We really enjoyed our visit a few years ago to the surrounds of Amsterdam (we saw the Ladies of Soul at the Ziggo Dome) and then on by train to Berlin. We are thankful that international travel is back and one can again personally enjoy so many nice places around the world. But Bangkok for us remains the draw :-). Hope you and Muriel had a great time and welcome back.

Ik ben ook geboren in Enschede ben nu ruim 14jaar in Turkije leuk om mijn stad zo weer te kunnen zien. Mijn ouders waren de eigenaren van 3 restaurants Bambul/Tırtıl dat nu Turkuaz heet en als laats De parel in de oester. Succes met de volgende video's
Ooooh, Bambul was altijd mijn favoriete restaurant voor Shoarma. Ik ben 22 jaar geleden vertrokken naar Madrid, Spanje en nu al weer ruim 13 jaar in Bangkok. Ben blij dat je de video leuk vind :-)

Nice place, been to Middleburg in Zeeland, Amersfoort and Amsterdam. Beautiful places would love to go again I have friends in all those places.

For you, but for me i prefer Thailand, the life in Thailand is easy than Europe, the people in Thailand have warm Heart than in Europe, we have less things but we have more love and friendship than who live in Europe.

A Fantastic video on the city of Enschede. I live in Scotland but have family that live in a small town near to Enschede, so i would often go there to wonder around, eat or just do some shopping. Any chance you would consider doing a similar video on Zwolle in future?

09:50 Kai is a real MVP. He also has a food truck that sits in front of my house on Thursdays. I have my fraternity drink on Wednesday. So I always go there while hungover and his loempiaas instantly cures it. (PS: Thanks Kai for the free siracha bottle)

I was very surprised seeing this video pop up, I grew up in Enschede as well. I always thought it was an ugly city with no character, and left when I turned 18. Seeing this video has made agree with what you’re saying, you only know how beautiful it is when you’ve left. Nice to see you putting it in the spotlight!

All the bicycles are great to save mother earth, however as someone with an injury from working as a paramedic I am unable to ride a bike. I guess in Holland you just sit at home because you cannot get anywhere in a car. Thank God for America!

I'm surprised you don't make your home base for real estate in Jakarta since Indonesia was a former colony of the Netherlands. Don't get me wrong, I love your Thailand vlogs. Just curious.
Heel bedankt voor de goede indrukken van de stad. Ik ben een beetje verrassd dat de stad zo modern is. Is de oorlog de reden of de politiek daarna? Bovendien geeft de stad een aangenaame indruk. Ik weet ja niet wanneer ik de mogelijkheden heb, om een reis naar Nederland te doen en ook Enschede te bezoeken. Groetjes van een duitser in Spanje!
Een stuk van de binnenstad is tijdens de oorlog meerdere keren gebombardeerd door de Engelsen. Enschede had veel oude textiel fabrieken die na de jaren 70 leeg stonden en zijn verwijderd. Een groot gedeelte is ook vernietigt tijdens een brand in 1862 en de vuurwerkramp in 2000. Over de vuurwerkramp zal ik binnenkort nog een video opladen.
