Madonna che critica brutta, esagerata.El grande Carlo Bergonzi era qui, già un po in declino (56 anni sono molto un tenore) e nonostante canta in maniera ammirevole questa aria.Quando si canta col pianoforte si puo accettare un po di libertà con il tempo.
Purtroppo ci sono nel mondo della lírica apassionari che amano solo gli urlatori.,stanno aspettando solo l'acuto ,accetano solo il "tenore stentoreo se ne fregano della musicalità,línea die canto fraseggio etc.
Carlo Bergonzi rappresenta il meglio della Italia nel mondo della lírica. E pure coloro che hanno applaudito quel giorno non sono mica fesi.

This is pretty sad. I understand he's oldish , though not really old ,but he had no business singing this piece with his battered top ,and his top had been rather poor even in his younger years. Was there no other piece in the whole rep for him to sing in a concert? At least he didn't attempt the cabaletta

I think his ambition pushed him to that piece. I agree he probably should have sung a more appropriate aria. If you don't have rock solid high notes don't expose yourself to the public.....
