Woah didn't expect to find you here... Love your videos!!!
Nice plug 😂
I respect your channel ever more now talent acknowledges talent
To giant have met each other:D
Lol you here
That realisation of having a trainee to cut his hair lmao 😂
Loving these casual videos! Your documentary work is some of my favorite online and it's so cool to see some of the travel/technique behind it. I love finding the character of a new city so I'll definitely be doing this next time I'm in one 🙌
Aidin u deserve a check next to ur name bro 💪✌
Yes! This means now we can expect a breakdown of his filming style from you? ❤️
@@FabioPalvelli just what i thought
So..... Ur gay for Harris lmao
He is amazing
4:18 Even the jackhammers are more polite in Europe.
I wonder if the leaf blowers are less noisy there too? I fucking hope so, they're too loud here in the USA.
Gabe Quirk nobody uses leaf blowers here
Lol wondering if what the jackhammers in Japan are like.
that Jackhammer was from Lichtenstein actually ^^ It was a HILTI ;)
Guide to Norwegian light conditions:
Spring: mostly normal light and length day/night
Summer: *INFINITE LIGHT! The sun *NEVER SETS! (*almost)
Fall: normal light and length day/night
Winter: Mostly dark, buuut the few hours of light are GOLDEN HOURS! Yes, PLURAL!
So during summer the sun barely setting means golden hours, too, right?
I think “golden hours” are given by a very low sun. The light waves take longer to travel through the atmosphere, that would correspond more to sunset and sunrise, and in Norway, in the winter, as well to high noon, as shown in this video.
You know he’s Norwegian because of the ø
"looking at water energizes me" isn't weird at all...there's something about water that's powerful and has relaxing or energizing effects on people.
moving water gives off negative ions just like lightning storms do (which is why they have a similar effect for people) unlike those b.s. salt lamps.
yeah, its the kinetic flow of water that gives us energy. A lot of things around us is static, but dynamic systems, like the rush of a river or the ebb and flow of an ocean- is both visually and auditorily stimulating. This goes with any observations of dynamic system such as people watching in a busy downtown, staring at a fire, watching leaves blow in the wind, but water systems like rivers, oceans, and waterfalls are the most engaging.
I’d love if this was a series - [ 5 THINGS ]
Every time he goes to a new country, vlogs the 5 things. It’s be so cool to see.
"I'm Johnny Harris. I'm gonna show you what it takes to get out alive from some of the most dangerous jetlags on Earth. I've gotta make it through a day of sleepiness in the sort of places you wouldn't last a day without the right survival skills"
Anyway, I just love how Johnny can turn any mundane thing into something that's absolutely worth watching
Underrated comment 😆😆
Johnny: "Norway drinks more coffee than any other country in the world per capita"
Finland: "Are you sure about that?"
Johnny is my new favourite vlogger
I think the same
don’t forget to check him out once more :)
3:28 Norway also has the least amount of Flat Earthers per capita.
Dude I live in Iraq and if you ask anyone ( educated or not) they will tell you earth is globe not flat disk
@@bahaar5215 In Serbia to (we have popular conspiracies but no one is on "the earth is flat train") it looks to me like an american thing
They have a survey for that....man those people are so bored ...lol
the Renaissance began right around the time Europe began drinking less beer and more coffee.
@@SurflFilms history is so fascinating. The coffee drinking culture was brought over from early Islamic caliphates of the Middle East and Anatolia which have been experiencing scientific and scholarly period(the religious purists, as they all do, erased these scientific achievements). Initially The Church banned coffee terming it the devil's drink but couldn't stop it.
This is one of my favorite of Johnny's videos. It has everything: travel, practical tips, fun facts and a bit of humor.
Really enjoyed this casual travel vlog Johnny - especially when you're in my home city! It's always fun to watch foreigners explore the places you've seen thousands of times. Some nice tips too, thanks!

Wow 🙌thanks dude.
Love this checklist! I travel alot and struggle with jet lag for several days after long haul flights, so not only does this list seem helpful, it would also be a fun way to fill your first day! And I like that it takes the touristy pressure off too. Subscribed!
Awesome video! I have to visit Oslo sometime it looks so beautiful! And the lighting is gorgeous as you mentioned repeatedly
Such a great checklist. So simple, but great. Definitely going to use this on my next trip.
These are really good videos, waiting for this channel to blow up
Wow ..I love how natural your videos are and how you have such an easy to approach vibe, you make it look so effortless ! Great work ! Amazing videos !!:)
You seem like you'd be a fun person to hang out with in a new city.
Big fan of all your Vox work, digging this casual format too, keep it up (:
Yesss! I’m in my early 20s and I’m so happy I found yours and Iz’ channel! I needed some simple, beautiful inspiration
the amount of social interaction he succeeds in doing freaks me out
Hey my name's Zivan too!
he barely talked to anyone lol
I would love a video of how you or (you and Iz) plan a trip. You guys always have great recommendations and you always seem to have good full days and would love to hear your planning process!
Thanks for the awesome tips! Saved to my favorites list immediately! Definitely going to try these 5 things next time I'm traveling~
I studied abroad in Oslo for a year and this video made me so nostalgic for the Christmas Market in citycentre and the waterfront. I try to travel as much as possible and this is awesome advice, I'm definitely going to use next time I'm somewhere new.
Great video! I've been watching your Vox work for a while now and I'm so glad to have found your personal channel too! Please keep uploading!
Also captured so many of my favorite things about Oslo. Cheers to great advice & a great video!
Love this video - especialy now that travelling is on hault, it's a great way to "virtually" explore a different part of a world, which you've masterfully captured.
Nice checklist. I'm definitely going to remember this next time I travel. Very simple and memorable. Great video.
Amazing video! Really makes me want to visit Oslo too! Thanks for sharing your personal experience Johnny
I came across your channel probably a month or two ago and saw one video then a few days ago I watched another and then spent several hours today watching more haha thank you for the high quality content! Right up my alley as someone interested in travel, international affairs, history, and all aspects of culture.
I really enjoyed this video and the traveling tips provided. Thanks for being an amazing human being!
Great video as usual, thanks for sharing!
I’m taking a few trips this year and already started doing research based on your 5 item list! Such a cool way to explore the city without being boggled down with way too many suggestions!! Because of Pinterest, IG, blogs m, I get so overwhelmed with what to explore and see, but picking one of each Category from your list is a smart way to get the lay of the land from the beginning!
a video on what you pack for travel? you're must haves and such? great video!
I love the way you make and edit your videos. I cant wait for more!!!
yeah, i agree! If anyone comes to San Diego, go to
1) Copa Vida or Bird Rock for Coffee
2) Seaport Village for water
3) Extraordinary Deserts for bakery
4) Cabrillo or Soledad for viewpoint
5) and Balboa Park for... park
Tanks for uplaoding!
Keep up and thanks for everything!
wow me too! cool video! cant wait to exploe oslo! i appreciate the fact about the lighting😀
I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel ! Please keep on vlogging ! A fan from Morocco
I dig it. The video and the advice...feels like a breath of fresh air and falls in line with the types of things I enjoy when visiting a new location.
I loved the commentary about the quality of the light. I totally agree with you
Keep these videos coming, Johnny! Editing is on point!
Really good channel ! I’m devouring every video on here ! Good job Johnny
Ahhhh I relate to this SO much. I may not do them all the first day, but I definitely try to hit each item in every city I visit. I agree that these are great ways to get to know a city and a bit of the everyday life.
I’m beyond excited you’re making these videos! Keep it up
Great content and interesting concept. I'll give that a try on my next trip.
Great tips, love the idea of taking the stress off the first day.
Soo well made and enjoyable video! Stoked to see of this stuff.
Great content, Johnny! Keep up the good work. You got a fan couple over here :3
Another great video!! Keep going!!
Great video. Love the style and the tips are good too!
So much for keeping these videos low effort 😜 I never realised it before but I tend to do all the exact same things when I first arrive somewhere
he just sneezes those vlogs out like it's nothing lol
Straight to the Point! I respect that 🔥
Great tips. Loved it
My wife and I went to Iceland in Nov of 2017. The light there was one of the most magical parts of that trip.
Johnny, really I find your life offensively relatable to mine, especially since I saw your video about how you got to work at vox, I’m at uni at the mo studying IR, with similar ambitions as to what you had at the time. So glad I’ve found your channel for real though, keep it up man! Big love!
Wasn't it Finland that consumed the most coffee per capita?
loving this vlogs 😍😍 keep posting plzz 😄 your video making style is what makes it spcl✌🤘
Best baked good you’ve had in any of your travels?
perhaps. I was in love with how soft that thing was
@@johnnyharris I think he's asking what was the best baked good you've ever had in your travels (?)
@@pookguy88 Indeed, though it did look good.
@@pookguy88 it could be interpreted both ways I read it the way you did the first time
@@powerlifting1012 right.
Great! I’ll try it out on my next trip.
you can be a great travel vlogger, but I also like your documentary videos in VOX as well. Keep up the good work!
Thank Johnny, I will definitely do this on my travels may it be international or just local.
I love this. Such a real way to fight the lag and actually see a city at the same time. Thanks, Johnny.
love it.. similar to what i like to explore too. add a market, a thrift store, and a bookstore, and i would fully satisfied with that trip!
Awesome, I'm moving there in Jan -- looking forward to seeing that long shadow of mine ;)
Really cool stuff. Subscribed for sure.
omg just found this channel and im sol excited!!
I've traveled to so many places and never thought of seeking out the river--brilliant.
I loveee Oslo..this was such a treat to watch..thank you J
2:33 On the off chance no one has mentioned this, Finland is actually the largest consumer of coffee per capita in the world, Norway is second. ;)
I really enjoyed this and everything you do!
As a fellow BYU alum, it makes so happy to see you have coffee in the #1 position. I collect coffee as I travel and I find it makes one of the most useful and enjoyable souvenirs. Good on ya, mate.
I love this, thank you for starting a youtube channel, it's helping me to find my own way in film making. :)
really cool video, love the music, editing, tipps and now i wanna go to Oslo haha
Learned so much! Your creativity is off the charts :D
Dude, I love your videos, the production quality and techniques, the content, all of it, and above all, the MUSIC. You KNOW how to choose your music!
I've liked your Vox videos, so watched your "How I got my Job at Vox" when it was reccomend (and subscribed after watching 🙂) was no brainer. This is the second video I watched, and I wanted to respond as a fellow wanderer. I too like/d going to bodies of water in cities I visit/ed, though in past it was easier for me as I was USN sailor for most of my travels, because I'd started my visit there (bonus no jet lag when traveling via ship 🙂, just seasickness 🤢). I also enjoy walking around in cities, night or day, to get a feel for them and their people. I liked and will try your other suggestions on what to do to work through jet lag.
I've really enjoyed your videos a lot 😀. I'm currently trying hard to not watch all that you've put out right away. As I've already have watched 4 out of 5 I'm not doing this very well. But I did sub to Iz's channel to to help fill the void of new Harris content, and there's always your Vox vids as well 😁.
Wow I just discovered this channel. I've been binge watching your vox videos for couple weeks now... and wow, glad I found extra videos to add to my watching list!
Thank you for making this video.
Love that you have started vlogging, hope u continue to do so
100 percent me when I was there last week...thanks for sharing!
you should do this for other place you go to! i love this video, it’s so fun and relaxing. i would love to see this for the other places you go.
stumbles across your video. very refreshing, I liked it a lot. Also, I totally agree with your list (except the bakery, I haven't tried that one yet, but I guess I will next time!). As an introverted person, traveling can be a bit of a special challenge. (on top of the usual stress level). literally leaving your comfort zone is the equivalent to jumping into a cold pool, you know it's not as bad as you think when you are in there!! I'll stick around. thanks for the great video.
This is exactly what I look for on CZcams. Keep up the great content!
I really enjoyed watching this video. I am going to go out now and do those five things.
This was the first episode that I fell in love with your travel and story telling. Keep coming back here. It reminds me that it’s good to be alive.
Nice vlog john!
these are good tips!! also it's very fun to see the city I live in from an outside perspective haha!
Used to get coffee in the same coffeeshop when I lived in Oslo!
Nice video, really love how Johnny captured the highlights of the city and the interesting stuffs in it.
Anyway, it's hard to do all these 5 things in Kuala Lumpur. Water and coffee is OK, the rest not really (OK, I hate walking.). The weather would either burn you or make you sweat all over.
I love how your Borders voice shines through when you randomly start to explain stuff in these casual videos!
Your editing are top notch. subbed.
I just bought a mavric pro platinum because of you thanks 😏
3:35 also if you go a bit more north, into the arctic circle, in the summer you will see the sun all day and night, and during the winter you won't see the sun.
Also, fun fact, there is a town in Norway that isn't in the arctic circle but doesn't get sunlight in the winter. So they installed a mirror on the mountain. This happens because there are high mountains surrounding them that blocks the sunlight when the sun is low. This town is Rjukan.
Loving the casual travel video. :)
Bravo, Johnny. I "will your channel to be less tiny." Happy travels!
As an experienced traveller, I rarely hear any new/awesome advice but this was truly great!
