If you cannot breath well you will be too afraid to live well … take off the masks 😷 friends , breathe and share only positive thoughts and ACTIONS❤🙏THE TIME IS NOW .. it will never be tomorrow

@@TheLisajoyce yes I did. I physically wrote out a list of a few breathing exercises and tried to do them throughout the day (3 times was probably the most I managed). Be patient and stick with it. When your well enough you can begin to challenge yourself more with short walks or small swim, whatever works for you. Definitely stay with your medication too. I think the combination of medicine and exercises complimented each other. Best of luck with it and just take it day by day. There is light at the end of the tunnel

I also found that this breathing alleviated the cough, I think it opened the lung tubes that were contracting, felt like crap but I was back to work feeling fine by the end of my 10 day isolation.

I cured myself of asthma 5 years ago. Buteyko works. I mostly just used (and continue to use) a simple exercise of 10 5-second breath holds, with 10-15 seconds of normal breathing. So simple. All medications stopped 5 years ago. I have 6 cats and had immunotherapy (allergy shots) for 5 years without establishing immunity. Buteyko provided me with not just an improvement, but a complete cure. I threw out my epipen (long expired) a few months ago! I’m adding the following: breath holds are always at the end of a normal exhalation. Always nose breathe! If you need to do the various nose unblocking methods that Patrick and others indicate.

Been suffering from COVID for a month now. I'm speaking from India. I shook hands with an American visiting here. From the next hour onward, my asthma aggrevated. It increased to the extent I started having attacks by day12. Had to rush in emergency to the hospital to pull off my attacks. I'm having diarrhoea, joint pain and a feeling of weakness and headache for almost everyday now. I'm doing only fine with my asthma meds for now. I recovered fully without meds 9days ago. But 2days before my asthma came back. Some people's testimonies are true about the virus. Once you feel you're recovering, the virus puts you down again as if coming back for vengeance. I don't know how long this will go but the good thing is my lungs are fine by the CT scan. I'm searching several sources to bring down my asthma. This one's helping for sure. Thank you doctor. Stay home, stay safe. Follow the guidelines. This virus is surely a thing!

Valorie mad That’s awesome that your Grandma is so active. Doing the breathing exercises also helps with concentration and awareness and focus on that you’re actually breathing. If that makes sense. I should do them more often but I usually try to remember to do the breathing exercises when I get in bed because I have adhd especially at bed time where I can not get my brain to focus on one thing at a time. So the breathing exercises helps with that as well as strengthening the lungs.

What I'm learning through my recovery, is the need to NOT PANIC. Several times, when having shortness of breath, I almost freaked out, making the matter SO much worse and unable to address the problem. Last night, I was in the kitchen cleaning up, when my breathing became really short, and I started to get dizzy. This time I kept calm, and said to myself, " Ok. Don't panic. Breathe. Sit down and get the oxygen on. It'll be ok" I realized that my eagerness to be well and resume regular activities is actually jeopordizing my recovery and potentially putting myself in danger of passing out. I need to go a little easier on myself (and I asked my husband to put one of my oxygen tanks in the kitchen). I also need to let my husband help me more sometimes, so that I can pace myself (which I feel bad about because he works so hard, but it's necessary until I'm at a point where I can do it again). I wonder if there are other women out there struggling with the strong desire to resume their usual, daily responsibilities, and having to let things go sometimes, or ask for help. I mean, We're the Momma's (the nurturers that take care of everyone else). It feels counter intuitive.
Sending prayers for everyone. Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄

@@jugogaming3614 Thanks very much for your reply. Not being able to breathe and getting heart palpitations would cause ANYONE to have anxiety. (nevermind the poor people that were already struggling with it) From what I've read, the healing process is a long one. I wish the hospitals prepared people for it with a little more knowledge about what to expect and how to deal with it, before sending Covid patients home to complete the healing process. Luckily, you're young, and I bet you'll heal much faster than older people like me. I'm learning that continuing to do breathing exercises to expand lung capacity, eating right, and getting plenty of rest, is really important, along with being patient, asking for help, and trying not to be too hard on yourself. (know it's going to take time, and try not to do too much too fast and end up having a scary episode, or worse yet, back in the hospital) I'm sending prayers for you. Please pray for me too, and all the people struggling with Covid.
      Take care! ❤

This video is so helpful! I had COVID19 back in December 2019...I was VERY sick for 5 weeks (I had symptoms for 3 weeks before getting really really sick. Back them we didn’t even know that COVID-19 existed, I remember myself crying in bed... feeling like leaving this earth...not prepared to leave my dogs behind) . During the summer of 2020 my health was just fine, I had energy and for the first time since COVID-19, I had zero breathing problems. It is now fall of 2020 ...allergy season is here and I’m having some new allergy symptoms....one of them is that I’m finding myself out of breath. And that makes me feel heart palpitations. Heart palpitations make me anxious....anxiety doesn’t let me fall as sleep. I will be watching this video in it’s entirety.... and I will be practicing this breathing exercises.

This video mentions a lot of the stuff from that book but if you're looking for more information on these methods then definitely try out his book. I am still new into these breathing exercises but I can already tell there are some differences in my sleep. Woke up this morning feeling refreshed for the first time in awhile. I breathe through my nose all day and do his breathing exercises 3 times per day in 10 minute periods. Looking forward to the long lasting effects of living healthfully and improving my lungs.

      Hi Linda!
Thank you for replying to my comment about this remarkable man. He is truly an angel for us. He absolutely realizes that those of us with Covid-19 are in psychological panic mode, frightened and nervous especially if we are alone at home without any professional medical attention. That's why he is so repetitive. He drives it home to make sure we "get it".
In his video, he lovingly gives us the tools we need to be able to help ourselves.
He has made a very substantial contribution. If you're alone at home, it is important to monitor your vitals everyday. Like he mentions, see if you can find an oximeter. Try to find a blood pressure kit and a reliable thermometer. Record the readings in the morning when you wake up and in the evening. I hope for your speedy recovery.
