I purchased from local Subaru Dealership before STi stopped sales for non-vin purchase but may still be able to purchase. JDM should be exact part.

Thank you for making this video. I purchased this part from Japan, and now I feel confident enough to install myself. I thought it would be a lot harder. I also purchased the front flexible tower bar too. Hopefully I’ll get it before Christmas! Thanks again.

What’s up! No problem, it should be a fun install for you!

Small question: Did you have to remove some interior plastic pieces to tighten the bolts to the chassis? Or did you have enough room to torque the bolts by just removing the trunk liner?
I just installed the front draw stiffeners and flexible front strut tower brace, and plan to install the rear draw stiffener next. Your video and notes will no doubt be helpful! :)

Hey whats up, I only had to remove the trunk liner and fold the rear seats down to torque and access the bolts. The hardest part is just twisting your body to reach everything. Other than that, really easy install. It’s a super nice STi piece to add to the car. Have fun!

Hey what's up! check out SMY performance or Japanparts. You won't be able to order from dealer without proof you own a S209.

Anyone else make a rear draw stiffener besides STI? >> Can you change the way you film these videos? They are vertical (portrait) and only show a small amount of subject (I see a lot above and below). Changing to a landscape (horizontal) frame would help seeing the entire subject in one frame and reduce the need to pan L/R...besides, all of our phones do better w/landscape images/videos. Cheers.

Hey what's up! lol, yes I was getting annoyed with the quality of my videos and recently purchased a vlogging camera, mic, and light cube. Videos should be in HD and fill up the entire screen with better lighting. Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately no one makes a stiffener like STi does, anything aftermarket that uses the same area is a brace that will stiffen the chassis with no flexibility. Supposedly this lack of flexibility makes the car perform less than optimal on regular roads since they are not perfectly paved like tracks.

Where did you have to drill to install the guard bar?

I'll put a video out later today hopefully to show pictures but If you order the guard bar, you will know exactly what to do once you see the mounting hardware provided by STi. You have to drill 4 holes: 2 holes are drilled from the trunk for the screws to mount the guard bar into the rear dash, the other 2 holes are drilled from the inside of the car under the plastic dash. The holes drilled from inside the car are so you can place a threaded insert for the screws to thread into from the trunk area and hold the guard bar in place. I used a normal metal drill bit for the trunk holes and a used a 1-1/2" step down drill bit with drilling oil to make the holes from inside the car. Do not use the step down drill bit for the holes made in the trunk, you can screw up pretty easily and make a hole too big.

Hey what's up! Sorry I didn't see this post for some reason??? Best to get from Japanparts.com unless you have a hookup with a local dealer. S209 parts are hard to source in the US now. Hope that helps!

Hey what's up! I was replying to another comment for this video and saw that I had made a general comment by mistake instead of replying to your comment. Anyways, I wrote "Hey what's up! check out SMY performance or Japanparts. You won't be able to order from dealer without proof you own a S209." At least I know what happened and wanted to share with you lol.
