We are huge fans of Little Shop of Horrors and also anything âMan Eating Plantâ so when I heard Michaels Stores would have some âLargeâ Venus Fly Traps I couldnât wait to see them! They looked amazing, but I was shocked after seeing MSRP of $200 per plant. In this video we build two awesome Man Eating Plants out of Foam Craft Pumpkins and supplies from Michaels for under $150. I knew we could make better versions of them for much less and they turned out amazing. They now guard the front door of our haunted home. This was such a fun project and we hope you find inspiration to create some Man Eating Plants of your own!
As always, thanks yâall so much for the overwhelming support! đđâ€ïž

PLEASE DO THE NIGHTMARE HARVESTER :O
This was such a great idea. What a versatile type of project. It is very inspiring and most informative. Thank you so much for doing this.
A zombie mario would look crazy next to those
If you decide to make some for sale, please let me know! There is no way I am talented enough to to make one of these but would love to purchase one!
Any chance you would sell these?
Little Shop of Horrors was my favorite movie of all time seeing this gives me nostalgia!!!i love how well this is built!!!
Love the movie! Going to watch it again this Halloween season along with Beetlejuice.
@@charmainkeller9019 Iâm doing an essay on it for music
"So Kellen, what do you do when you aren't working? What's your hobby?"
"This week I'm making a custom carnivorous plant prop."
"Uh huh, I see...well maybe you need professional help."
"You don't understand! I build festive holiday props to please the CZcams gods. If I don't, the algorithm will destroy us all."
"I'm going to back away slowly now."
"No, don't go! I'm going to start spray painting a gradiant with a tedious UV effect!"
đ
Those arenât Halloween decorationsâŠ
Theyâre works of art.
Absolutely impeccable attention to detail.
Most people could never apply the finishing touches that you
gave to your creations, but they could still do a nice job of
making an âAudreyâ that people would be impressed by.
Great post, was a pleasure to watch. đđ»đ
Great job man I love your work. I hope spirit or any another company see these and hire you. You got great talent...
Thank you! đđđâ„ïž

Oh
My
Gawd
Guys, this is insane! Dont get me wrong, the prop makeovers are great, but youâre prop creation/ build is even better!
Just the idea of using the craft pumpkins to create the heads of the venus fly traps is genius.
Also, Iâm really interested in the âcraft foamâ I never heard of that, and that patina paint is so cool, how it works, and how it looks like real patina copper or brass.
Iâd love to see more of your original build projects. Your quality and creativity is off the charts!
Thank you so much! đđâ„ïž
I 2nd this whole comment!
We love the original prop builds but the makeovers are extremely popular for some reason. Luckily those videos allow and fun these original prop builds. Thank you for this comment it means a lot. We will be posting more original builds in the future thanks to support like this đâ€ïž
I now HAVE to use this to make myself a Piranha plant from Mario as decoration for my room!! They're my favorite and I'd love to have a full sized potted piranha plant đ
That sounds awesome!
Yours look 1000000 times better than the cheesy looking ones at Michaels!
Excuse me, but I liked the original. That kind of hurt ngl
Thank you so much! đ€ this was a fun build. Donât mind the Troll above... no one likes the original đđâ€ïž
Excuse me, who you calling âtrollâ asshole. I like your version but I personally love the hell out of the original. Looked more... blended in with the environment.
@@arandompufferfish5017 they arent talking about the original from the movies they are talking about the merch ones you can buy around halloween. also you do read like a troll

Thay-low green, a gorgeous colour! These are so incredible! Your step by step instructions are destined to ensure a huge onslaught of these babies all across the land. Great work, clear instructions, and great editing.
Little shop of horrors babyy
I love killer plants, I need to finish mine! I loved that you emphasized painting blacklight with the uv light on! I love my blacklight paint !
Just love the way they look and brings back memories. You did a wonderful job they sooo real , would love to have on my porch all year long.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this as well as all of your other videos...such inspo everytime! And, you're very "real" about everything (if that makes sense) which is quite refreshing these days! I have concrete pots like these that NOTHING grows in. I am totally doing this technique to them for use in all seasons...the MOST important Halloween, of course! Thanks for allowing us along for the ride with your creativity!
I would add lights inside the mouths and wrap around the vines, to make them into lamps. I would keep them out all year round. They would scare off thefts from coming to my door. Also, it would add a Gothic theme to my door. My neighbors are aware I am a Goth, they are very kind people. My neighbors would love something like this seating in front of my apartment. We deal with theft and vandalism sometimes so I would need to make it more secure. Having lights keeps them from wanting to try vandalizing. I also would add speakers for creepy sounds.
Just bought my pumpkins, and I have most of the other supplies, so I'm looking forward to trying this project. Thanks for sharing...
Of all the DIY videos, you are the best. Sometimes a little overkill but definitely top of the food chain. I followed your expert directions and now await the presentation at work. I will follow up with photos and video post holiday. Thank you!
My husband and I just went to our town's local theater to see Little Shop of Horrors and fortunately came across your video today. Best job I've ever seen of DIY plants. Love them. Spectacular!â€đȘŽ
These turned out fantastic! I'm working on our outdoor display and am so happy you have made something that can withstand the outdoor elements.
Wow , really takes me back. Feed me Simore ! Great job. I love them.
These are very awesome props. They really look like the offspring of the original Audrey II, and the glow paint really gives them an otherworldly, alien vibe. Little Shop of Horrors has always been one of my favorite movies, I've always loved how dark it gets without sacrificing the comedic and musical elements.
WOW! These look absolutely incredible. Far and away the best tutorial for making these I have come across and thank you for putting it together! This is definitely on my list for next season!
Thank you! đđâ„ïž
Wow..
amazing prop build and creation of these man eating plants. These really need to be seen and appreciated by everyone. not just hidden on your front porch lol. I am so excited when I see you have a new video out. Fantastic job again!! LOVE THEM!!!
Thank you so much! Always wanted to build these and had so much fun building them. Not gonna lie was definitely nervous about them âgrowing legsâ and walking away đŹ glad no one messed with them đ hope you had a good Halloween! đâ€ïž
Dude those are really awesome they look amazing I might try to make them because I'm a big fan of the movie the one's you made look so much better than the one's they sold at Michael's I cant wait to see what other awesome creations that you make you are really talented keep up the amazing work
Thank you! You should definitely make them! Such a fun build and you can really put your own spin on them. đđâ€ïž
I started them last week I'm looking for a good paint to paint them with
I love them !!!! Thank you for sharing your creative process!
You did an incredible job on these. I am extremely impressed with the artistic quality and how you explained everything so well. Awesome build, and now I'm inspired to attempt one of these. Thank you so much for posting this!
Best Halloween DIY I have EVER seen!!!! Maybe the best DIY anythingâŠever. Completely in awe.
How great these would be as props. Made to look so easy but it would take a lot of great talent
Beautiful, you are so amazing to watch work.
Thank you for sharing your visions and talents.
Yes!!! These are so cool! I saw the ones at Michaelâs and I love how yours turned out SO. Much more!!!
So I saw this video on my feed, and as a fan of Little Shop of Horrors as well as a person who tried creating my own Audrey II, I had to watch. Needless to say your plants look a lot like the ones from the movie, more menacing, and more structurally sound than mine turned out. I will definitely be looking into upgrading my Audrey II using this video. Count me as subscribed to your channel!
I absolutely adore your work...you are so incredibly talented...love them!
Thank you! đđâ„ïž
this is my first time to your channel and honestly these are beautiful. I would have never thought that doing this would be such a straightforward process with such phenomenal results I'm definitely going to look into your other videos because you are seriously talented
Thanks for the link for the pumpkin teeth. I ordered some right away and they were here in 3 days. What a great company. Keep up the awesome videos! You do a great job.
đČđ€ŻThese are absolutely amazing!!â€ïžđđ Thank you for sharing.
These look absolutely amazing! what a great diy, thank you for the upload!
These are incredible!! So weâll done and thorough! Thank you for sharing!! Awesome work!!
These two look absolutely incredible! What an amazing job!
Those are awesome!!! Love them!!!!
I am learning expanding foam can be used for alsorts of projects this is wow!! â€â€â€â€â€
Such an amazing project. I come back when I need some help getting motivated to craft
I built our Audrys many many years back. One of ours is a head that locks over the gate entry button for our farm. I love what you made...I am needing to do an upgrade and touchup to ours so thanks! If you want to make mini ones to add to the lower part dollar Store foam pumpkins work great
LOVE †LOVE †LOVE THIS SO KUCH TOTALLY MAKING THESE! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
One of my favorite things you've done. I'm doing a laboratory themed haunt and need some plants for it, so thanks for the inspiration! Sadly mine can't be this advanced since there's only 10 days until Halloween, I'll need to make some that can be done in about an hour or two, but either way, good inspiration!
Thank you! These would be fun to make for a Laboratory! Hope you had a fun Halloween đđâ€ïž
OMG!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!
Those turned out AMAZING!! Love the use of pumpkins, spray foam and especially that UV paint!! Great paintwork on them, very impressive. Love me a great Audrey II. Just made myself a puppet version fir Halloween!!
love this, so glad the algorithm gave me this! As a stocker at good ol' Michraftles imagine my shock when not even a week after first seeing this video, we got this year's fly trap in.
While it IS an improvement from last years, I couldn't help but notice some uh. uncanny cooincidences that really stood out to me, the fangs got more tapered, it got a new paint job with darker line patterns, and most notably to me the head is very much just one of their craft pumpkins, stem on the back and all!
It just wouldn't leave my head how many things were similar to yours and makes me wonder if they took inspiration.
Wow, just wow.
I have to try to make a couple of these for next year.
đđđđ
These look so good! As LSOH is my favorite musical, I'd keep them out all year round! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Thank you! Haha havenât put them away yet so thatâs likely đâ€ïž
Lol. Same!! LSOH and Sweeney Todd.
The top of one of my entertainment centers is Audrey theme, a whole bunch of my viney pothos plants, the Seymore & Audrey Funko Pops, and a framed artwork off Etsy of a scene from the movie. All I need is some Audrey heads to put in the plants đ Too bad I'm not talented enough to make one and the store bought ones are to cheesy.
You killed it! There was clearly a lot of work to do but the end result is oh so worth the effort!! Great job as usual!
Thank you Man! These original builds are a lot more fun and I always wanted a pair of these guys for our porch đđâ€ïž
Those are some nice pots for sure.....they are so extra. Dude killed it with this build. Julie is jelly for sure. Looks like she will be getting some not as cool ones when I make some LOL.
đđ they are some nice pots! Thanks man. Guess we will have to have a Make and âLeave itâ at your house soon đđâ€ïž
Wow - they are so awesome!! Really great job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! đđâ€ïž Hope you had a great Halloween man!
This is the COOLEST Halloween decorations I have ever seen! Totally doing this!
Mind blown. I couldn't begin how to figure out how to make this. Wildly creative. Very impressive.
This has to be one of the coolest things ever! Great job!

These are insanely creepy and COOL! As someone with a Halloween birthday these get my approval! đ€Ł I'm getting supplies now. My porch is gonna rock this year. Thanks so much!!
You did such a great job! Love them so much! I just made some of these and now I want to add the spray foam detail it looks so good! Well done!!
Thank you so much! So glad to hear you created some too! Fun project right?! đđâ€ïž

FEED ME !! Another TrueType amazing job!! đđ»đđ»đđ»
Could not stop singing that song đ Thank you! đđâ€ïž
I enjoyed you Little House Of Horrors Project. Went a little fast for me to follow but I think I got it all. One of the interesting parts of the movie was a the end when Audrey bloomed. Showing images of all the people she ate. I thought that was a great Idea when building. Adding small pictures of friends and family to the Venus fly traps.
Fantastic they just got better and better wow! đđ
Canât stop watching !!!
I will be making one of these this weekend!!! Iâm making Frank for my poison ivy costume, so Iâll have to make some adjustments, but this is an incredible for a base!
Amazing so love these. Great job.
Unbelievably awesome! Great work! I love them

Thank you so much! Ugh Little Shop of Horrors is one of the most fun productions to do! đđâ€ïž
They look so awesome đđŒ. The ones from Michaels doesnât even compares to yours!

These are amazing! Love your creativity. Little Shop of Horrors is such a great movie â€
Wow!!! Those look so Amazing!! I really enjoyed watching this build, you got some mad skills and your detail was some of the best Iâve seen! Look forward to seeing more like this!!
Hey yâall đ€ Thank you so much! Your yard looked incredible this year! How the heck are yâall doing?! Hopefully staying safe and sane! đâ€ïž
After stumbling on this video while looking for Halloween DIY decor I have been harassing my husband to get us the supplies to make this but he doesn't think we can do it (we aren't artistic by any means, although we wish we were). But I think with this video we can handle it. So.... I took it upon myself to start gathering the supplies myself! I don't have everything but I do have enough to start so I am hoping to start working on it today. I am soooo pumped! I will update later on how it turns out!! Cross your fingers for me!
These look great. Well done sir. Thank you for sharing your build.
Thank you so much! đđâ€ïž
This is AWESOME!!! Love the original prop!!!
Thank you! đđâ€ïž
That's super awesome...
They are truly amazing I LOOOOOVE the original prop builds!!!!! I can't wait to see whats next! What happens to all the old props though? Is there a spooky retirement home? If so I bet Audrey II would be front and center to greet guests and eat grandkids.
Thank you! Had so much fun finally creating these. Usually for haunt props the get recycled into other props until they are retired which usually means trash... rarely retire things here đđđâ€ïž
@@SuperTonkers you probably scare the crud outta the garbage people. Sounds awesome to recycle the spooky bois tho
WOW. Awesome props!
Totally awesome man!
OMG! Love them đ€. You did a great job đđ€â€ïž
Incredible work sir. Definitely look like professional work. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!! I'm speechless at how aaaawwwsome they are!!! New subscriber here. WOW!!! what talent you have! I just love how these plants turned out. No way do they compare to Michaels... actually they don't have the detail and interest yours have. I'm glad i ran into your channel. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and artistic touch. A big shout out to your awesomeness from south Texas!
Wow this is very impressive!!!! Lovelovelovelove them! đ€đŒđ€đ€đŒ
The beginning n ending! Lol! A great prop plus entertainment! Thatâs why I watch
đ glad you enjoyed! Thank you! đđâ€ïž
Awesome and creative!
Those look so good. Makes me want to make something similar with a different type of Venus flytrap shape. There is this amazing looking long necked kind that sorta look like straws with a flap that rests open over the top.
I soooo need these! LOVE IT!!
It's not even fair that you are this talented!
So much fun. Love your creativity. and your humor....
Thank you so much sir! How was your Halloween? Hope you and the family are doing good! đđâ€ïž
