I love long builds, gives me somthin to binge watch
Hahaha. Sounds great to me. I’m always worried I make these videos too long. I’m glad someone likes it.
i second that
Foot pedal makes a world of difference for sure. Great pattern, I’ll have to try it next. Thx for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It absolutely makes a world of difference. Thank a ton, Jeffery.
Love your channel! Making my way through your catalog. Thanks for all the effort, appreciate the long form videos
Thank a ton for that!! I really appreciate the feedback. I’m glad people appreciate the long form. They’re definitely not the greatest for growing the channel, but my main goal is helping people progress, so they’re worth the extra effort.
Really digging your channel
Thanks a ton for that. I've been slacking a bit, but I should be getting more content up soon.
late again lol, that is one hell of a big billet, sword size easily, and another great how to vid with plenty of useful info again, build looks like it is going to be pretty interesting to watch, cheers again lol
Always appreciated, Andy!! Thanks a ton! I’m interested in how it’s going to turn out 😁
Very cool nice pattern
Thank you 😁
cảm ơn bạn video hay
Thank you 😁
Very interesting to me on several levels. I am now tempted to try welding a billet without my trusty Iron Mountain flux; I soak in Diesel, but same difference. We have the same press, so if you can do it I should be able to. Also, by all means get the foot pedal for your 12 Ton! Makes a huge difference, especially when the billets get so long. Finally, I'm curious about your not using squaring dies; possible you don't have CI's new ones?
Yeah, you can definitely do it. To me, it’s much easier to weld without flux. I’ve been debating getting the treadle, but it’s not too often that I make these huge billets. I think when it’s when I upgrade to a 25 ton that I get the foot pedal. 😁
I did use squaring dies. Mostly to start reshaping the billet and to get the skew out of the billet. I’ve yet to buy dies from CI. I feel like they’re way overpriced. I know they’re milled to shape, but I don’t feel like I need precision milled dies when making a billet.
I feel like CI dies are a lot like printers. You buy the printer at a reasonable price, then you pay out the nose for ink 😂
@@Hathenbrucksteelworks I use the foot pedal all the time, not just on huge billets! I thought long and hard about getting a 25 ton, but Denis Tyrell has a wonderful rolling mill I used, and now I have one too; lots cheaper than the computer controlled 25 ton I was drooling over.
@@Hathenbrucksteelworks Yep! My welding skills aren't up to snuff yet, so I have been buying their dies, but I'm going to make myself some fullering dies anyway.
