      You did one on ice cream. I suggest broken up chocolate chip cookies, especially if you made the cookies and they've lasted long enough to get a bit stale. Cookies with pecans.

  • @thnkr0917
    @thnkr0917 Před 6 lety +41

    Ok, take away lessons:
    1) I can make my own dairy free condensed milk for these
    2) I the condensed milk is mainly to keep it from forming ice crystals, but if I use an ice cream maker then that doesn't matter
    3) Basically, any fruit can be frozen and added to my processor with condensed milk (dairy or not) and it will make these sorbets.
    4) Big argument among users as to whether this classifies as sorbet or sherbet.
    Got it. :)

    Recipe:
    Ingredients:
    1 lb frozen fruit ( strawberry, blueberry, banana, etc. )
    1/4 cup of honey
    Procedure:
    1. Add frozen fruit and honey into a food processor or blender.

    Hi guys, i replaced the condensed milk with banana - of cause you could use honey and a little water/ice (depending on thickness). Just make sure your banana tastes good before using it - ie ripe.

    is there a substitute for the sweetened condensed milk?

    • @rosepetal5312
      @rosepetal5312 Před 4 lety +3

      Yes: honey, agave nectar, almond milk (vanilla or original), coconut milk, or any other thicker sweetener.
      Though, if you want REAL sorbet (which has NO dairy), then don’t use milk at all. If you want sherbet, which is what she’s _really_ making, then use milk or the substitutes listed above. :)

    Hi Gemma love this video! you can also make pretty much instant sorbet if you use a simple syrup (sugar and water boiled) but you can also freeze it more. I reckon the simple syrup let's the flavours of the fruit shine more! thank you for the video ;)

      tauresa ttauresa Sorry to hear this! But if you want to enjoy this you could use a dairy free condensed milk. Or if you don't want to do that some stores sells these pills that you take before having dairy. I use to be unable to have dairy as a child!

    • @biggerbolderbaking

      By definition my recipe is technically more of a sherbet than a sorbet because it contains milk but personally I think it is more of a sorbet than anything.
