Great review! I currently wear a LS2 Pioneer helmet and I've got this exact one in the mail at the moment as an upgrade. It sounds like a nice option!

Just returned mine after 10 days use. The sun visor was sticking, probably due to dust. Returned to LS2 UK for repair and it lasted 1 more day on the trail, so full refund. 1 jouro and a mate have both had the same issue. You have been warned, the 5 year warranty should see you right.

The sun shade mechanism on my first LS2 carbon explorer failed after just a few uses. The company refused to honor the warranty at 9 months. Thankfully Amazon exchanged it for a new one for a minimal restocking fee.
I normally wear an xl. I had to order a xxxl on this model and slice the cheek pads in half as well as trim the nose guard off. Love the helmet!

I just bought the LS2 Explorer from Ebay, after removing the inner linner for a wash, i re-install as the instruction manual. Problem after wearing it, when i remove the helmet the inner liner pin/button will come off, and everytime if have to refix it again. Which is inconvenience. Problem there is no slot for cardo speaker

In India, there is the explorer fibreglass helmet, but with double d rings. The indian version is 1460+-50. The European version with the steel micrometric is 1550+-50. Is the weight difference due to the micrometric, or is it due to maybe less protection in Indian version? The indian version models as of now are ECE2205 and the European ECE2206.
Please note I am talking about fibreglass version.

I have recently bought this helmet. I feel it is bit noisy on highway and cause pain in upper side of head.
Muito boa escolha amigo Nuno eu tenho a versão de carbono brilhante e em agosto já faz um ano e estou super satisfeito depois de 3 Nexx para esquecer, o único se não é que devia ter um sítio melhor para encaixar as colunas do intercomunicador de resto é 5 estrelas um grande abraço.
Sim reparei que não tinha sitio especifico para encaixar as colunas :) e quando o coloco tenho de ter cuidado para não dobrar as orelhas! hehe Obrigado e grande abraço para a Madeira!
@@WolfMates também tinha esse problema com as orelhas este fim de semana ganhei coragem e escavei um pouco no esferovite e resolvi o problema 😂

Great review! One question: can you take off just the peak and use it as a road helmet or by taking out the peak the visor comes off as well?
Thanks very much :) I believe its possible to remove the peak and ride without it keeping the visor, but this peak is not so big so its not very noisy if you have a motorcycle with a good windscreen :) Cheers!
@@WolfMates nope, not available to do that, because the screws hold the peak, the visor can not be hold on by the screws. visor openings bigger than the screws.

Maybe it’s just me, when I tried this one, I’m getting distracted by the sun visor. Like I like the lower area is too big for me, like half of what I see is not covered by the sun visor,
Maybe I need to reposition it?
Hello, nice review, iam thinking of getting this helmet, i wear contact lenses and get very dry eyes, are all the vents closable ? did you notice air hitting your eyes?

Hello! Thank you very much :) I've installed my Cardo 2+ speakers on to it without problem but this helmet doesnt have the "slot" for the speakers so i had to fix them into the lining. It works but i must be carefull not to bend my ears when putting the helmet on :P Cheers thanks for watching!

hi, what's the difference between this simple mx 701 & "C mx701" according to you, also please share ur 5 month review after using it, shoould we consider this off roading touring helmet as our ride partner????
The C is for the Carbon version :) Should feel a bit lighter but in my opinion the MX701 is already a light helmet for an adventure type. Overall i find this helmet to be a BIG improvement for LS2 helmets. The quality is very good, noise reduction is great (altough i have a big screen on my benelli so it will depend on your motorcycle). It has alot of ventilation and thats good for the summer. The only negative thing i discovered so far is that it seems to be a bit colder on the winter, feels like there's a bit of cold air still entering... but might be just my unit :) Also installing my Cardo Intercom was very easy and its confortable to wear :) Cheers thanks for watching!

Olá Luís. SIm consegues. Estou a usar o Cardo Freecom 2+ e apesar de não ter os buracos para colocar as colunas, tem espaço para as mesmas sem magoar as orelhas. Estou bastante satisfeito com este capacete, boa evolução da LS2. Boas curvas e obrigado!

you can remove, but plastic covers seems not included in noncarbon version
I also got the LS2 carbon Explorer. I'm not a fan of it. Shell way to big in size. Came with rust on inside components. The black flip down visor broke on the first ride. The lower foam parts regularly come loose. I rate this helmet as pure trash
