the shallowness of lava is mentioned in a loading screen tip, and is likely to give big wheels a more active use in traversal

The shallow lava also makes Mineru more useful since the construct can walk through it unharmed. The lava in BotW was just an extension of the water layer, which was apparently reworked entirely in TotK.

I don't know if this is true to all terrain, but swamp also isn't as deep as it was before. I used Mineru to traverse swamp to get korok in faron region.

Monster parts are probably fireproof now because they’re such an integral part of the player’s weapon arsenal, and when you battle a group of enemies it’s pretty easy to cause fires one way or another. It would suck if fighting groups made you lose most of your loot from the fight for no reason.

  • @zeromontalvan1514

the lava now works completely differently than it was in botw, in botw it just was orange water that burns, it makes sense since in botw there's a whole water map under hyrule, so when they need to make rivers or lakes they just stretch it upwards, so they did the same with lava, in totk probably they had to take a whole different route thanks to the depths so they reworked the lava, you can confirm this by just shooting a shock arrow to the lava, in botw it will do the same as if you shoot it in water creating the big range electric dome, but in totk this is fixed, also there are still some places with random placed lava like that one place near the coloseum in botw.

In totk the mobs will not show up on the purah pad photo rune when dying. I believe the badly damaged message only shows one hit later for the tree branch. Every other weapon I've tested shows badly damaged on 3 hits left. I think they made the change branches on account of their durability of 4 meaning that it would always be in either pristine state, or badly damaged, so changing badly damaged from 3 hits to 2 means you'd see the intermediary stage between pristine and damaged without using fuse.

I think you were able to gallop at full-speed in Tarrey Town in BotW is due to you having to build the entire town, so it probably isn't updated to be an actual town. Since it's already built in TotK, it is registered as a town and the horse will just slowly trot.

one thing I noticed in totk that probably was not the case in botw (my memory is a bit hazy on this) is that in botw if a fish escapes link and goes deeper underwater, link can't grab it anymore. But in totk no matter how deep the fish goes link can still grab it.

Some photos I've taken if there's a lot of colors and texture just look horrendous. It's upsetting. I wanna share the cool shots I take, but too many look terrible.
