    Craft description:
Commissioned by the Empire's elite Storm Commando Corps, the TIE Hunter is an experimental fighter that sacrifices armor and firepower for flight speed. It is equipped with twin laser cannons, a proton torpedo launcher and an ion cannon. The design of this new craft integrates the folding S-foil design of an X-Wing into the form of a TIE Interceptor. However, the high speed closed wing configuration reduces the solar panel surface area so dramatically, that no weapons can be fired while the wings are in a closed position. All available energy is transferred to the craft's twin ion engines.

The First Order version you show looks shocking: four wingtip cannon, the two ion cannons, and chin-mounted torpedo launchers. Also faster, more armor and tougher shields, I'm assuming.

This whole exclusive thing was stupid. Did not cost much more than regular tie but was far better

Someone dumb was in charge of writing the price for an RPG I'm sure it's probably comparable to an avenger. If not a defender. (I realize some things say the Avenger's more expensive than the Defender but that
      s wrong too.)

I love the TIE Hunter, but I REALLY hate Fractal Sponge's model for the ship; the way the wings fold up is not at all accurate to it's depiction in any form of Star Wars media, and that big cylindrical ion reactor just ruins the ship's normally sleek aesthetic. I had AdamKop draw up something more faithful to the original TIE Hunter in _Rebel Strike,_ check it out: i.redd.it/r0u0yzpazn641.png

I like to think of Fractal's model as a descendant of the original design with separate lore and purpose, but nonetheless a high performance fighter that can hold its own against any mainline fighter in the galaxy.
The TIE Hu-B Hunter was designed as the frontline fighter of the newly established Fel Empire in 45 ABY. Intended to be a cheaper alternative to the still high performance TIE Defender (now upgraded to the TIE Super Defender **Fractal's interpretation of the Defender**) a mass production fighter was called for with the versatility of the Defender but at a fraction of the cost, while still being not only competitive, but capable of surpassing the fighters of other powers in the Galaxy.
Sienar began by looking to the plethora of their old designs to see if anything in their history already fit the bill (they had made so many prototypes, testbeds and limited production fighters it was a worthwhile place to start.) for inspirations on what could fit this bill, and came upon the plans for the original TIE/Hu Hunter,
The original hunter made heavy use highly miniaturized hyperdrives, reactors and shield generators resulting in a cost not much lower than the TIE Defender. But the basic design held promise for a mass production model. Using a Larger hyperdrive, reactor and shield generator allowed the fighter to use cheaper, more modern parts and alone nearly cut the cost of the fighter in half without sacrificing performance. Replacing the warhead launchers with modular ordnance launchers would allow the fighter to return to the hangar for a pit stop, rearm and re-equip itself mid battle, hot-swapping Missiles for Torpedoes and vice versa in a matter of seconds, standard mission profile would include IC-73 cluster missiles in the top launchers, and GT-44 Proton torpedoes on the bottom two launchers. Similarly, changing the S-Foils to fold inwards rather than together like an X-Wing saved hangar space and optimized heat dissipation while simultaneously minimizing emissions in flight, allowing it to enter into a stealth mode while the foils were closed. Truly living up to the name "Hunter", the resulting fighter was so versatile it could also fulfill any mission profile that an Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing would, as it retained the Chin laser and Ion Cannon configuration of the original, albeit upgraded to modern standards.

I don't really like the conical ion reactor on that one.

The question is which would you rather be in a dog fight with, the hunter or the phantom???? If probably choose the phantom...

“Incoming ships identify your self”. “We’re delivering a captured rebel transport requesting permission to dock”. Negative no ship may dock with out proper clearance...there are no transports scheduled to arrive for days..wait I’m not reading any life signs aboard that transport that transports in a collision course explain this it’s a trick scramble fighters attention all craft intercept and destroy the rebel forces
