  • This is another long winded walk around video of another bike I just recently picked up. It is a 1998 Suzuki bandit 1200S. I have been wanting one of these monsters for quite some time I never could find 1 for the right deal. Then out of the blue while at auto swap meet in Jefferson, WI I found this one and it turned out my neighbour right down the street from my house was selling it.
It does need some carburetor work and the gas tank cleaned out because it sat for many years. I am hoping to get to work on it soon and it will be a revival video I will put together soon.
I appreciate everybody's patience with me now putting out any videos lately. There's been a lot going on including passing of a couple friends of mine that really took away my free time and interest. Sadly right now I am still recovering from a back injury so might be making many videos at least until I am feeling better.

Not my first bike lol. Been wanting one since I rode a friend's years ago, was far more manageable than my cbr900 I had at the time.

I love my Bandit, if you are on FB look for Suzuki Bandit USA. Most of the guys there are pretty cool and you can get a lot of help with tech tips and parts.

I have a black '98, now with 175,000 miles on it. (Yes, I have rebuilt the motor a couple of times), but I am a Suzuki tech and have become a B12 expert by now. YES you need to clean those carbs out fully, (the pilots often clog up) and do NOT use anything except OEM Suzuki air filters (and really, Suzuki oil filters). NEVER use "pod" air filters. 1) The stock suspension is CRAP, and investing in a new shock and fork springs will blow your mind. 2) My unit has a 1216cc JE piston kit and some light port clean-up and makes 120 BHP with 82 lbs of torque. A serious (and safe) power boost- Stock makes well under 100 hp, I don't care what your friend says, I have a dyno. When set-up and clean, this is one of the greatest streetbikes ever made; I have had mine across the US multiple times and it also does quite well on the track, if you fix the suspension.

I have a 2000 set up as a cross tour, 1216 kit, port polished, K&N pods with pre filters ( I clean carbs 2x a year, and filters every oil change) 150 mains, full yoshi TRS tri oval kit, (Depending on whos dyno 125/131hp 87/92ftlbs) 164k earned my IBA awards in 1000k in 18,5hours and 1500k in 23.45 hours (barely made that) and now hold the 3k in 3 days!! I will NOT be EVER attempting the 11kk in 11 days... now way!! LOL Rear shock is a custom Elka made for a k8 GSXR-1000 and Progressive suspension, Prog springs with gold emulators and 15w oil WORLDS different over stock
