Yes! I didn't expect the root system to be so dense or the tap roots to be so large. I had to cut the tap root on the first stump because it was almost as large as the main trunk. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it :) - David
I love rooting out trees and stumps! Those stumps buckets are nice, I built on last year to use on the M6060. Good part is it centers the pushing force to prevent bending your loader arms. Nice job!

I had an Uncle and Aunt in Squimm WA both have passed now with my aunt being the last one just last year they loved it their. nice video, I also have the stump bucket. I have taken out a few stumps but now actually take the tree down with the stump bucket as the added weight of the tree really helps get the root ball out of the ground.

I think you are the first person that has used that bucket as I thought it should be used. Go in at a steep angle so you can see where the point is at and work the bucket angle to the tractors advantage.
Hey, Wayne! Yeah it takes some finesse to use the stump bucket. It's really hard to see what you're doing. I figured I'd take the same approach as if I was using a hand-tool shovel to do the same thing. I did see after watching the video that being too steep at the wrong time could be really rough on the loader though. I still start each push the same way, like shown in this video, but now I flatten out the angle more to reduce front end stress. Thanks for watching!

Good morning, Ive considered one of these. But what i do is save any of the stumping for when i have the mini excavator on the property. You are doing an excellent job on the videos. I have the same rode mic i believe and the audio quality is amazing! Keep it up i see this channel doing really well!

I’m sure by doing it and reviewing the footage you’ll see where improvements will come from. If I could offer 2 observations. First. It’s not an excavator. Second. think of how you’d remove it if you didn’t have a tractor, and no you can’t use explosives. You’d likely have two tools. A pic axe and a shovel..and maybe a handsaw/axe. Anyhow that’s how, IMHO you should use that implement. Curl down, then boom down then back drag minimum 6’. ( like a pic axe) start Left then in front then right. Then shovel these areas. (if needed it expose roots) Now reposition 90* rinse and repeat. Now attack the roots with a scoop method. Well that’s my 2 scents. Nice compact tractor though. 😊

Thanks, Scott! Yeah, it does exactly what it's supposed to do and does a good job of it. I think they are better for bigger/stronger FELs, but the stress is centered on the SSQA. Don't go in too steep and it's all good. Thanks for watching, bud!
I have that same bucket for my 2301. Loved seeing you do the same thing I do. Let’s me know I’m doing it right..
I wish I was half as proficient in removing stumps as you are. Worked 3 hours today on one medium (12") and one small (5") in thicker, wetter soils than your site and less than 12" apart. But, both still stuck in the ground near nightfall. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
Hey Dwayne! Yeah some are easier than others for sure. The stump I removed in my other video was easy enough to break free, but the tap root was half the diameter of the trunk! Thanks for watching, buddy! :)
@@PaleHorseOutdoors ....finally got those 2 stubborn trunks/roots out. They both had more lateral roots than an octopus has arms/legs and almost the same diameter as the trunks themselves. Removing trunks is a "game of using your 'mind's eye' accurately" since much of the visual view is blocked by the stump buckets mounting bracket. As of today, 4 stumps are out and only 48 more to go!

Did you know that the stump bucket will slip right into your regular bucket. I take both buckets with me to a stump. This way once the roots are exposed I can slip my other bucket back on. Come up to the bottom of the exposed stump and curl the stump right out. As you know you have a lot more,power to curl with the regular bucket

Very cool video, David. I need to cut some trees down behind my shop. Of course I never have cut down a tree before so there is that. Looks like I need to get a stump bucket too. How long after you cut the tree down do you wait before you have good results of using the stump bucket or is that even a thing? I was not sure if letting the stump dry/die (not sure?) before tackling it. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great question. I imagine that the longer the roots have to rot, the easier the stump is to remove. I have a couple stumps that I'm leaving until next year to see if waiting is worth it. The stump removed in this video were cut just a couple weeks before. It seems to be a bit easier when the ground isn't as dry, but removing stumps in mud is not a good idea because you can really mess up things and get the tractor stuck.
Kubota getting it done! We have the Titan Heavy Duty model, a wicked combination on our Bobcat T-650. Before that we used it in a kubota M5-091, we have a Stump Graveyard to show for it, over 5 acres cleared and the Titan Stump Bucket never failed,👍🏼 good video🪵🇺🇸
Oh yes these stump buckets are really worth the money! We have a stump graveyard, too. We have a section we call the "Enchanted Forest" with all kinds of gnarly trees, especially the older Hazelnuts - I dump them in there and they fit right in! I'm going to check your channel for videos of that HD bucket on the Bobcat! Thanks for watching! - David

Them stump buckets obviously are much cheaper than a backhoe attachment but oh man I don't know myself that sure seems like it puts a lot of stress on the bucket cylinders I myself purchase the backhoe attachment but then again I've had plenty of side jobs where it made its own payments and it's nice for all of my own projects I'm not knocking your stump bucket that's a very handy tool just take baby bites LOL
I totally agree with you. My only concern with the bucket is stress on the FEL. I should have bought a backhoe, but I really didn't think I'd need one. Thanks for checking out this video!

I just saw your post about the stump bucket concern. I have to agree with your recent thoughts. I looks like it would be real easy to overwork the bucket and cause some damage to the loader. I've never used one and can't really remember hearing anyone tell me they have caused damage with it. But sure looks like the potential is there.

How much power is your tractor making Do you think a kabota bx3200 with 32 horsepower would be enough for that bucket

Putting that amount of pressure on the hydraulic cylinders fully extended is one of the worst things you can do. Save your tractor on stumps that big. Go rent a mini excavator. Been there done that, and my tractor is bigger than yours.
