The Ryobi is great. Had it for a few weeks and already used it WAY more than I thought I would. It was great for cleaning up vinyl tile trimmings between cuts while doing my floor.
Thank you for this review! I use Ryobi for work. My wife appreciates a variety of home use tool options using the same batteries. I don’t get the stink eye from her anymore when I buy Ryobi!
Yessss Ryobiiiii, I love how it stands up by itself, I have a Dyson at home and it does not do that. The next vacuum purchase will be this. Love the videos Clint. 👍
Thanks for the stik-vac review!! I saw this on the "new tool" list on the RYOBI website, and was on the fence on getting this for our vinyl floors in the house for the boss (wife), ... We have a Dyson stik-vac and not impressed, ... $$$$ as well. Gonna add this to my RYOBI collection as soon as Home Depot gets them in stock. Thanks again !!
I’ve gone through 4 Dysons. The batteries last 2 years and then they are garbage. And 3x the cost. External batteries, relatively cheap, great reviews across multiple reviewers. I’m just waiting for the new model to be released, the the Dyson gets binned!
You mentioned a Dyson, does it have better suction over a comparable Dyson? It’s about time you got around to doing a video on the new Ryobi stick vac and the dual roller model at that…lol!! Great video as always!!
I’ve been using my old dyson stick vacuum seems to be amazing it’s quite if I have to clean up in a office and great suction. But this Ryobi looks like a nice upgrade
I love all my Ryobi tools. Unfortunately the duel roller bar is out of stock. I just ordered it without duel roller bar but did get extra battery. Can't wait to try it out.
Seems like this past year ryobi has really stepped up there line of tools. I'm just a home diy guy so I do have alot of ryobi tools and they haven't failed me yet. But the stuff they are coming out with now are far better than the past. Just my opinion tho.
The link in the description is for the discontinued model?
The newer model is PBLSV716 and no longer has the dual roller bar
We have the Ryobi have it about a month the pet one with single roller, wife tossed the Shark stick vacuum in storage and never touched it again, very nice to operate and smooth plus have a bunch of batteries we can use
My boi Claude keepin it 💯 for the Toolies……This is why we love you! Just don’t tell Chakka….Also one thing I bought for the wife was the ryobi “dust buster “ she says it’s the best dust buster we’ve ever had…and believe me they have been in our home for many years.
Question, how does the suction compare to the 2 previous models? I have the original which was ok, then the newer version with the "prefilter" that loses suction really 'quick like' Muhaha! So needless to say I don't use either regularly. I used to have a Dyson stick which really sucked! If you get me, but yeah that price tag! So is this one worth it now that the filter system seems to have moved to a cyclonic filter style system?
Mahalo and I really enjoy your channel!
Mike
When using it as a dust buster, does it have as much suction, or more than the jobsite vacuum? I can't decide which one I want for my garage.
Ryobi is so awesome with the new tools it releases so quickly. Surprisingly they have not made a 18v massage gun yet as they are very popular.
Thank for this great upload. I'm a fan of the green
It's out of stock on Home Depot's website. That includes the vacuum as bare tool or with the battery. Is there any other place where I can buy it? This is my next vacuum for home use, because our current one is slowly dying. Thanks.
I have been waiting for this thing for weeks, but no stock at Home Depot yet. Specifically, the PBLSV717. HD has the PBLSV716 in stock, but not the dual roller 717. Anyone have any idea when this thing will be on shelves? Cuz i need.
The dual roller has just started popping up in stores, fyi
Great vid gunna invest in this 👌 Have you heard anything about the ridgid 2.0 tool box I seen a post that there's going to be a new one coming out thats why the boxes are going for so cheap right now
What about the P7181KSBN that is on sale today. Which one would be better? Thanks.
I have the single roller version of the Ryobi, we have had it for over 6 months now. It has REPLACED our big plug in vac. We can do the majority of our house with 3 4ah batteries. We has a dog that sheds a bunch. It has no problem with the fur. My only complaint is the high pitch noise of the vac. We use it every few days to keep up with the dog fur. I have not had to remove the roller for cleaning yet. I highly recommend this vac.👍👍
Small error, but the Ryobi is only .05 gallons less. Which doesn't sound like much as a number, but as a percentage, 20% sounds decently smaller.
Thanks for this correction, It seems that TRZ doesn't believe that accurate Facts and Statistic matter!
I appreciate you're input on this AdamBomb!

Good point
@@VCGConstruction -1 cool point
Hope it’s better! I exchanged my first generation 5 times because problems with the roller
Do u have the ability to do a Vs from the 1st Ryobi stick vaccuum and the new hi perf model? They don't list the same related deets so you can't tell if they are actually different
I should have totally waited till the end of the video because you answered my question. Haha thanks!
Your link to the Ryobi Stick Vacuum says that the battery and charger are sold separately.
With the first gen Ryobi stick vac you couldn't take the beater bar out and was a pain to clean off lint, hair or other things clogging the bristles on the beater bar
Go Clint!
Ryobi is a great tool company.
I'm not mad at my "Red" "Stick Vac"
I guess that Gen ll will reflect some "Green" innovation.
I bought early Ryobi vac thinking it would have the cyclonic filter. It didn't, and is practically worthless because the "filter system" clogs after seconds and looses vacuum. I keep hoping someone will after-market a replacement cyclonic filter. This is the only Ryobi tool that has disappointed, but I will not get the newer one.
I have been trying to get this vacuum since it was released and it isnt available online or anywhere near me!
I have the first gen Ryobi I loved it but the hose at the bottom broke. But I cant find a replacement anywhere.
I believe they still have them on the market 🤔
Oops just finished the video and heard you say it's much better than the original! Cool man! Oh and it looks to maybe not by a cyclonic type filter??
Wonder if hart stick vac is any good since its tti also
I think the Ryobi one is more of a general catch all vacuum. while the Milwaukee with the extra filters and such is meant more for dealing with fine dust. the split bin with a large dust area and small large parts area, the double filters, being dry only. its meant for cleaning up dust and fine particles without spreading them around. in theory that is; i'd love to see a smoke test with both of these and see how much smoke they leak. see if that milwaukee really is fully sealed. i assume the ryobi will probably leak smoke. milwaukee im 50-50 on.
Im an at home DIY type. so i just have my dyson for general cleaning and fine dust. and the larger box cordless Milwaukee for my shop vac.
I'm deeeep into Ryobi tools and batteries 🔋 with overall great results.
The 40v power head trimmer/ multi attachment carbon fiber tool is awesome.
I have several seasons of commercial use with great results.
The soft roller is for hard floors. Dyson brought it to market, then Shark made the two brush version which is better. Then Dyson practically stopped selling the soft roller, which is insane. The newest one has it though, to work with the laser.
Yeah my 1st gen the RYOBI-IA is an okay stick vac, my only complaint CLINT is the super loud whining motor sound it makes(earplug worthy). I would upgrade if they came out with a whisper series...
BTW.... where are the new Rye-Oh-Bee stick vacuums????? How did you get lucky to score that vacuum? I've been waiting for the PBL5V717K for months.
I need that in my van for final clean up in homes.
Nice video. Thanks. Too bad the Milwaukee batteries won’t fit the Ryobi. I’ve got a TON of Milwaukee batteries..
ManReview Zone!! I love this stuff... Milwakia, isn't awlays the best!
My business partner got the Milwaukee stick vacuum for Christmas from his wife and never got to use it because ours came with legs. God's Honest Truth never took it out of the box and can't find it anywhere.💯👍🇺🇸
It helps that they own Hoover vacuums too which are great in the first place.
That look better than the Dyson. We bought a stick vac from Dyson. And it worked great, until the non replaceable battery crapped out. So the ryobi definitely wins on price and battery swapability.
They went to the Craftsman style filter housing.
Which was the right thing to do. Craftsman V20 design was Correct. Everyone should just copy it so we can all enjoy a solid cordless vacuum on their desired platform.
I picked up the Craftsman from sLowes about 8 mos. ago. Was on sale for 149 w/ batt.,charger, and another free battery. Very pleased with its function. Very similar to the Ryobi in design too.
Your HD link above takes you to a different vacuum (PBLSV716K), not the PBLSV717K with the felt roller.
Fixed brother
@@ToolReviewZone Thanks! Unfortunately this model is out of stock everywhere and on-line.
Looks like Ryobi is stepping their game up I’m pretty impressed
A up Clint
How’s it going bro, now I do like that hoover and bug zapper you could say REAL NASS LIKE I’ll be getting both when they are out in the uk thank you for great content mate 😊
My dude Carl 👊👊👊
Maybe Ryobi went and raided the Oreck, Hoover, Dirt Devil, and/or Vax parts bin to build this? I have a Dyson stick vacuum and love everything about it except for the price. I’ve been eyeing these Ryobis for quite awhile now, thanks for making up my mind. Real Naaaaaaaaas like!
When is this releasing? No stock on HD
I believe tomorrow 👊
Have you seen much of a difference with standard 4.0 batteries vs the HP ones?
Are they interchangable?
I've been hoping Milwaukee would make a standup bag or bagless vaccum with a bright light on it.
The large Ryobi fan (air cannon :/) is better than just about every other brands fans (except maybe EGO). But that's another home-gamer-centric product.
Good review, keep up the "nice like" content
RYOBI FTW!!! RYOBI sure is stepping up with innovative technology which is real nasss like yes indeed, I don't think there's another brand with anything like it.
Smeeesh that like button. 👀👉🏼 👍🏽
I'm a Milwaukee guy who recently jumped into Rye-Oh-Bee during their recent promotion. I am impressed with the variety of tools that they offer, especially at the price. I recently bought the Rye-Oh-Bee cordless heat gun and from all the reviews I read it performs equal to or better than the Milwaukee model... at almost half the price. Plus... Rye-Oh-Bee gives you the extra heat deflectors at no extra cost. Milwaukee charges extra for them.
I must had gotten a defective one because that exact tool is what caused my downhill spiral to being a crackout and Milwaukee fuel addict! But, I will say some tools by Ryobi are still my go to just because I don’t want to buy them again in Milwaukee fuel form. (Ie the max daddy 1/2 torque with 1350 ft lbs breakaway I think it is, the crown stapler and the heat gun)
I used to be a Makita guy.. way back I had the blue Makita 12v with orange battery.. bought a Ryobi 7.2 as a backup.. that 7.2 ran circles around my Makita for less than 1/2 cost.. my friend has the brushless 18v makita.i have the brushless Ryobi (impact's) he tried taking out a large screw.. his Makita could not do it.. my Ryobi no sweat.. in Makitas defense I had a 1 amp hour larger battery.3vs4 and my impact was two years newer.
That was the real world review that’s for sure lol, those were beat to shit but you hit it out of the park with this review! bravo!👏
Plus the light
Looks like maybe a how too on using a nail set could be made with that floor 😁
I found out the milwaukee works ten times better if you take out one of the filters in it. Not the main filter just the white sponge disc that sits on top of the hepa filter. But yeah I did like the non fuel version of this vacum better. Except for the place of the handle.
I did the same thing 😅
Looks like you been vacuuming your yard with the milwaukee stick vacuum after cutting the grass 😂😂😂
One thing about DeWalt and Milwaukee, is the abuse factor. I feel like that is very important. Especially since I have to work in bad weather. Yes a vacuum is on my list so I can clean the work area after I am done
I had the Ryobi 7181K sick vacuum. It was horrible. Noisy, bottom brush kept seizing, and the suction was crap. This one looks like it's completely different in a good way.
I need a HEPA filtered vacuum because I have allergies and asthma, does Ryobi have a HEPA filter available?
Not that I know of
I didn’t see any available at any outlet, they look tiny as well. I’m looking at the Dewalt DCV501HB personally.
Not available at this moment in canda sadly
I am buying one now
I used to hate on Ryobi years ago as the weak weekend warrior brand of tools. I will say I am thoroughly impressed with their lineup over the past 3-4 years. I use dewalt at work but everything at home in my garage is Ryobi. I love the leaf blower and cordless circular saw.
Be on the lookout for Ryobi days at Home Depot. Always good deals to be had.
Clint are going to talk me into getting one of those vacs.
REEE--OOOOOOOBIIIIII!!! is real NAS LIKE!
@tool review zone - you would happen to be wrong. The M18 is a beast, but you HAVE to have two extra sets of filters cause you can clog them in minutes and they need time to dry after being washed. Seriously, you can pull dirt and dust out of brand new rugs with this thing!
I truly believe you are the only person who like that vacuum
@@ToolReviewZone It took time to adjust but it's been awesome last year+. A hook on the wall (Ryobi link) fixed the storage issue. It has a HEPA filter which other stick vacs don't. It pulls so much air that the cyclone screen can clog in under a minute of use but it's quick and easy to clean. The tank is easy to dump. And it's small enough to use for dust collection when drilling / cutting indoors. Mine has been a workhorse
Oddly the link for the Ryobi leads me to the Ryobi HP stick vac, except the one depicted on the Home Depot website differs as it doesn't have that soft roller up front with the brush roller behind it, it only has a single brush, and has what they're describing as a 'cheerios' openings for larger debris. Crappers!
ryobi vac seems real nass like. i do also like there cordless air compressor as side note.
Haha, whaaaaaaa????
Why a plywood floor? Because it's replaceable?
Ima just gonna use my shop vac…..😬
I bought a Shark vac two years ago that looks strangely like the Ryobi.
I converted a Dyson v8 to work on my AEG/ridgid batteries and it destroys all 👌🏻
Does anyone know what the CFM rating is on this Ryobi? All I see is 75 IOW (inches of water)
Unless you are blowing, IOW is what you want to know.
I like the dewalt one way better than both of them. In fact i have a new dyson and my dewalt stick vac is awesome and i prefer it, i cannot remember the last time i used my dyson.
What amazes me is how much these vacuums from pretty much any of the big tool names costs. $150 is a lot in my mind. I rarely pay that much for a full-size standup let alone a dust buster type small one. Paying $200+ for one of these seems absurd. I use Makita tools and wouldn't mind getting one of their vacs if they weren't so freakin' pricey.
Helps that TTI also owns Hoover and Dirt Devil
I think Ryobi is made for homeowners, so the vacuum is for the whole House. Milwaukee is for workers so the Milwaukee is for the workplace and so it needs to be more portable and robust.
The ryobi 18v line is more for homeowners. The 40v is a lil better. M18 is heavy duty
Winner winner..ryobi homeowner weekend diy'r..milwaukee tradesmen everyday use n abuse tools.
The Milwaukee stick vacuum is really bad though. I have it and it doesn't vacuum on the pull, only push
I'm a worker. Took back the Milwaukee after two tries.
It can't even stand on it's own. I'd rather have the backpack.
Good Video
Apparently the companies are separate in every way but ownership. Design teams etc. That probably breeds some excellent competition.
Wanting to find Ryobi Hand Vac to replace Black & Decker Pivot Vac w/bad Ni-Cd battery. May hack the B&D to accept the Ryobi battery (!) LOL PV is hard to top.
Hello all, I could do with some sound advice.
All my cordless tools are from Milwaukee and I have plenty of Batteries.
Our domestic vacuum (dyson, very good but old) will need replacing sometime soon.
I was thinking of getting the Milwaukee stick vacuum, but now I am not sure if I should get the Ryobi stick vacuum and buy a converter so I can use the Milwaukee Batteries that I already have.
I have watched other reviews where they compares the two models and the ryobi does better than the Milwaukee. However the review is mostly about settings weight, hard floor with saw dust and so on. I would rather have the one that does perform best on carpet and hair.
Does anyone have a reliable comparison of those two vac and tell me which is stronger and would do better on carpet and hair.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Another question that I have is that, do the milwaukee Batteries actually work on ryobi tools?
I love the ryobi stick vacuum for hard floors. It's amazing. The Milwaukee batteries will not work on the ryobi unless you have a converter
@Tool Review Zone thank you for your reply. I love your reviews, some are very funny.
You’re the one; got me buying ryobi batteries for tools that I don’t even have yet. I said I’d never buy anything babyshit green and black. But them batteries are ridiculously cheap.
The old Ryobi stick vac is so loud and whiny and the new one is MUCH quieter. The single roller one I have does okay (I think you can buy other heads and switch), but doesn’t have as much suction as it claims. I am not happy that the accessories from the old stick vac don’t fit on this at all and on the old one you could empty the canister without having to remove it (if you try what he suggests the lid hits the bar and will only open a little on mine and the dirt falls toward the vac anyway). But if you have batteries it is a nice general purpose stick vac and overall a big upgrade from the old ones.
Any idea how it does with cat litter and such? I bought the hard vac and it regurgitates everything it vacumes. Terrible design and weak suction. I was hoping to rig up an adapter to make it work with my dewalt batteries bit it's nannied to only work with hart. Maybe ryobi would be better
@@andrewk8636 It should suck up litter just fine, but I'd probably use a shop vac as litter is pretty coarse and if that is your primary use, the roller brush might get worn out quickly and parts might get messed up over time.
Ryobi brushless multi tool is the best multi tool on the market even better then the compact brushless makita multi tool the only thing I like about the makita multi tool is that it doesn’t vibrate. But other then that Ryobi multi tool is real nice like
HomeDepot has a good deal right now where you can get the $200 version of this vacuum for free (or another Ryobi tool) when you purchase the $200 3-battery kit (with charger and bag). I think it's through July 17.
Just showed my wife “it glides just like a Dyson” while she’s holding her Dyson lol
There were 2 Ryobi vacs prior to this model.
Well see I can't decide because I work at home Depot and we have a Milwaukee spokes girl and a Ryobi spokes girl.
Looks gd vacuum 👌
I got a decent you want this, vac. I got a place that gives me free electronics and they had a shark stick vac. The fact that it was free made it one of the better vacs I have owned.
Getting one....
So you said they have to be light, portable and have great suction. Seems like red sucks more. So does it mean it's better? 😆
Im still waiting for the ryobi to drop in canada.
You can't get it for $249 w/battery & charger; it's $299 for the kit & $249 without. 🤔😒
Very nice review. But it's .05 not .5
There's a saying: "competition breeds excellence". I'm sure the parent company has a fire lit under all their subs to turn out quality product ... or else.
Yea but that's an old saying. You say that now and someone will get BUTT HURT!!!!.. In today's world you gotta say.... "ohh it's ok, they are both just as good,,"... Smh
i agree that the milwaukee stic vac is not very good, it was a regrettable purchase.
