Metz is surely the most beautiful train station in France
Hi. When you comeback to Portugal try the Celta train between Porto and Vigo (Portugal-Spain). Its an old regional diesel train but the sightseing very nice.
Also between Portugal and Spain you have an even older small green train, from Entroncamento and Badajoz. This train crosses one of most deserted but very beautiful region of Portugal, the Alentejo. The sights are simpler, quieter but you can see big fields of olive and cork oak trees. As you probably know, Portugal is the largest producer of cork so to get a picture. Give me a call when you get here so we can hang out.

Metz looks like a nice city that bus infront looked very long in terms of the train I did not really like the colour scheme on the livery but on the inside the interior looks relaxing especially as you have two levels and almost unlimited seating choice
Thank you for this video! I am travelling to Luxembourg and I will be visiting the Nord-Est during my stay. When you book tickets from Metz or Nancy back to Luxembourg in two legs as you have shown, does that mean you must get off the train in Thionville and change to another? Do all trains heading north through Thionville end up in Luxembourg (city)? Do you have to book tickets for specific trains or can you take any one that is the fare you paid?
Also, can you do the same thing -- save money by booking two legs (Lux-Thionville and Thionville-Metz) -- when travelling from Lux to Metz?
Voor wat betreft 1ste en 2de klasse in deze treinen: in Frankrijk is de 1ste klasse coupé gedeklasseerd, omdat TER Grand Est in geen enkele trein 1ste klasse hanteert. Maar zodra de trein de grens met Luxemburg oversteekt, heb je een 1ste klasse-kaartje nodig, want CFL maakt wel gewoon het onderscheid tussen 1ste en 2de klasse. 😉
Aaaahhh, ik dacht het al maar twijfelde enorm omdat als ik via de sncf tickets wilde kopen naar Luxemburg ik de 1e klas optie niet kreeg. Overigens wel mooi, omdat OV in Luxemburg gratis is boek ik deze tickets altijd zo ver mogelijk weg. In dit geval heb ik dus een ticket van Thionville naar Troisviergers geboekt. Aansluitend op deze trein heb ik de trein naar Luik genomen, aangezien ik een 10 rittenkaart voor België heb had ik voor dat stuk een ticket van Betgembourg naar Gouvy gekocht. Maakt qua prijs niet uit.

Trip report idee: Brussel - Mons - Aulnoye - Parijs! Perfect Interrail-traject (want zonder reservering) en je gaat over de oude route ipv de hogesnelheidslijn
Jaaaa deze staat erg hoog op m'n lijstje. Echter gezien corona in België en Frankrijk dief ik dit nu niet aan. Heb ook verhalen gehoord dat de trein Mons - Aolnoye mogelijk gaat stoppen, wat echt heel erg zonde zou zijn. Er rijden hier maar 2 treinen per dag.
@@Trainviking Dat zou inderdaad zonde zijn! In mijn ervaring sluiten de verschillende treinen op dit traject goed op elkaar aan.
Kun je eens het traject Maastricht-Luik in beeld brengen?

Jazeker. Om sterker te zijn, deze video is al gemaakt en komt binnenkort op mijn kanaal (ik post momenteel om de 8 dagen een video). Stay tuned, Luik heeft een geweldig mooi station.
@@Trainviking Zonder twijfel is Luik het mooiste station - ik geloof dat de architect een prijs heeft gewonnen (voor het dak?). Daarvandan nam ik de trein twee jaar geleden naar Maastricht - en daar heb ik een servesteer ontmoet die geen engels had !! (Forgive my poor Dutch - I am rather out of practice)

Party true, however in Luxemburg they do have their own language as well (and that I can understand).
