In the school, i had allready done every tasks, so the teacher sat me to saw off a 35 mm stainless round stock, a propeller-shaft. He had never seen a person doing a more square cut.
Watching Debs with that spray paint reminds me of my mum, I used to help her with stuff like that when she was making garden ornaments & sometimes when she was making her jewellery. Sadly we lost her just before the Covid madness (her funeral was about 10 days before the first lockdown), she was only 67 & I still miss her. It’s an absolute pleasure watching you two doing things together. Cherish the moments John. All the best.
Debs will find out about her scissors when she takes over the workshop, which, at the rate she's learning to use the machines, will be in a few months time. 😊
Good work and always interesting looking around old industrial sites. Round my way in Sussex used to be a massive iron working area from pre Roman times to the 19th Century.
Debs should say, "John, welding is like sewing with fire." A local college is now teaching welding using virtual reality. Students do not get to feel the heat, the sparks, and when they raise their helmets they do not gaze down on the 2 pieces of metal they just joined. What it the learning with fake welding.
You had best be careful John . Debs may soon have her own you tube channel in direct competition with yours then you'll never hit that 100k mark 😂.... Well done Debs👍
For oil on the lens, have you had any luck using a mirror for the close-in shots? Or, does something else happen well away from the action that still manages to get oil on the lens? I've never tried a mirror but have seen it in cooking shows.
I very much enjoyed seeing Deb do the things you were helping her with. She is an extraordinary lady.

Dear John, Nice video and good to see a little local archaeology being explored. The recent past melting away yet still visible to the interested eye.

Great work by Debs, I'd like to be able to weld as well as she does. Thanks for another good video John!
it's nice to hear the history of that part of newburn
Debs is doing great at the Tig welding, she will be having her own channel soon 👴🏻👍
Deb's going to give Barbie the Welder a run for her money..
Another great video John. I especially enjoy the local history and seeing the original architecture.
nice to see the old pictures
Good to Debs in the workshop John. Interesting work the steam valve mechanism.
Top video as always. Liking the bit of local history, things have changed a lot since that photo was taken.
On the lathe, looks like she might start her own you tube channel.;0)
Deb did a great job protecting the ways. :0) Give her a hug for me.
Great video John, thanks.👍
Thanks to you both
love the history bit.
cheers ben.
تحياتي bon travail continu bravo
Nearly 100 thou John
He is slowly getting there.😊
Debs is well on her way to becoming a fabricator. I just hope she didn't get many chips embedded into her sweater ( jumper?)
Those “flues” look a lot like coke stoves to me.
I love seeing that Deb can do these things BUT: can she swear?
When the need arrises She knows all the words .
Nice work, Debs! Already better than me at welding and brazing I'll have to keep trying, shan't I?
as per brill
