When it was 4-1, I watched the start of the hockey game for a while and came back to watching this game and by the time I did I suddenly saw the Angels were winning 9-6, I wasn’t expecting it!
I was watching the game and even I didn’t expect it😂 3run home run schanuel, than ohoppe, then it was a solo home run by adell, next inning hr by Neto!
Estevez needs to lose the closer role. Hes cost us multiple games. Maybe use him in lower leverage situations. Give Strickland or even Moore a closing chance even though he hasn't been all that great.

As an Astros fan this game effing hurts, that 7 run inning killed us. It hurts even more because we had a chance in the bottom of the ninth, couldn't pull through tho. GG Angels

Valdez should've been pulled after giving up that second 3 run shot. But Espada continues to Espada, not knowing what the heck to do. Also, why is Singleton still going out there to first base every game?? Dubon should be the starting first baseman! This game was a perfect example of why he needs to have at-bats and play in every game. The guy is just a solid hitter. Meanwhile, Singleton will hit a long home run every 8-10 games to get people oohing and ahhing but in between that he hurts the team at the plate. Good game Angels fans. Time for the Astros to brush this one off and get at it again tomorrow. Hopefully then, Espada will learn some managerial skills. Go Stros.

And you can see why at the end of the video. If it wasn’t for some amazing defensive plays by Neto and Adell we probably would have blown this one too. Estevez has been quite a liability this year. Our expected W-L has us much closer to .500 if not for some disappointing performances by Estevez.

Kinda want Detmers to have his opening weekend form. He's not getting better. Good thing the young offense pick it up
Yeah Detmers had ace/#2 stuff and pitched like it to start the season. Sadly he’s the only starter not partaking in this great run of SP in May, but he definitely has the stuff to turn it around. Viewing the highlights he looks to be falling behind or catching too much of the plate even when he’s ahead.
Estevez has been soo bad this year. Our expected W-L reflects that but at least this awesome young core came through with the bats and their gloves. Awesome win for a team that struggles mightily in MMP.

Why was Valdez immediately not pulled after the 3 run bomb?
The bullpen only gave up 1 run after.
Astros could've won 7-4.
Espada clearly was not thinking.
Also, Bregman needs to get it together, he had 2 on in the 9th for him to win the game, you can't squander opportunities like that.
Instead he went 0 for 4 yet again.
If he wants an extension he needs to perform in big moments like that.
Caratini has been more reliable then him this season smh.

Many of our starting pitchers were on the IL for a long time, and we're just now getting most of them back.
Offense is getting better, and the bullpen has generally been getting better.
I think the Astros have won eight out of the last eleven or something like that.
So what happened is they're returning to form, tonight's game notwithstanding.
I can add more to that if u want to read actual in depth facts…
Since the beginning of the season and returning from the IL…verlander, valdez and javier are a whopping 1-0 combined against Legit teams…so, this idea that it’s because they had pitching on the IL and are now returning, hasn’t payed off in the long run, only against weaker teams

@@Andrew-kx2ek Fair enough, except you forgot to consider that part of the reason for the slow start was that we had a fairly tough schedule, and now the schedule has gotten easier.
It's a more balanced schedule now, and we can only play who we are scheduled to.
So your "legit" reasoning really doesn't hold much water. We haven't had our main guys back long enough to compete against the "legit" teams.
We did just beat the Brewers two out of three, and they are leading their division.
The true test, as always, will be what the final record ends up being and how far they go in the playoffs.
Anything before that is pure speculation.

I keep saying: Framber Valdez lacks emotional resilience. Physically, he's good, but mentally, he's poor. He needs some kind of emotional intelligence support or coaching. If you don't follow the Astros, you have no idea how small things can break Valdez in seconds for the rest of the game. Sometimes it's just a walk, a wild pitch, or even someone looking at him... he is unstable. He's a good pitcher and a great athlete, but his mind needs some work. I don't care about analytics if you can't function mentally.
