The best thing about part 1 is that it's completely aware of how silly it is, but still plays it COMPLETELY seriously with not a hint of irony. Can't think of any other show that toes that line so perfectly.

Not gonna lie, I kinda wish got to see more of Dire and Straizo. If Phantom Blood was longer and they were introduced a bit earlier than near the end of the part, I feel like Dire’s sacrifice and Straizo’s betrayal in Part 2 would’ve had a stronger impact on the audience. Outside of the memes of course.
