  • CW Mundy is an extraordinary American painter (and musician) with a studio outside Indianapolis, a hunger for experimentation, and a heart as big as all outdoors. He will be Charlie Hunter's guest for the REASONABLY FINE ART TALK on Wednesday, February 9 at 1:45pm Eastern at @CharlieHunterStudio on Facebook or on the REASONABLY FINE ART TALK channel on CZcams ( • Charlie Hunter's REASO... )

Denis - So good that you've seen this. Your work is stunning. Sending support to Ukranian friends - art is the language of piece. For folks who may not know, Denis' work, here's a good intro: www.tonalism.com/bios-interviews/denys-gorodnychyi

Exactly, I agree with CW. It’s “warmer or cooler!” Why, because the color has a preponderance or visual sensation of going warmer or cooler. I love this guy!

I have a Mundy Mop that I received as an extra from wherever I ordered brushes somewhere. Now I know its origins. 😊 MAN! I LOVE CW's enthusiasm. This Trilogy Palette seems very good for one who's had trouble painting outdoors. 👍 Thank you both for sharing everything today. ❤

This was awesome. Very aligned with my experience. I highly recommend William Morris Hunt’s “On Drawing and Painting”. Hunt hammers on the importance of value. And yes read “Hawthorne on Painting” too!

I love limited palettes. Sooo simple, you can focus on the value and the "drawing". Love the Dennis Shehan palette (trans. oxide red, viridian and titanium too. Used Zorn's palette for years as well. Makes life easy and like Charlie, I'm a tonalist at heart, draftsmanship is important to me as well, and ultimately I find versions of tonalism and limited palettes much more poetic. To me lots of bright color should be strictly for mod posters!
