Launching the Schooner SV Ruth in Barbados

- After more than 10 years of construction, the schooner christened the SV Ruth was finally launched into Carlisle Bay, Barbados on December 6th, 2014. This ship will ply between the islands of the eastern Caribbean transporting fruits and vegetables like schooners did in their heyday. It will also serve as a platform for sailing and seamanship training.
This short video shows the highlights of the event that day.
I could never tire of watching the launching of such lovely ships as this and in the sunny Caribbean, a dream come true :)
So good to see Ruth hit the water, had been to barbados many times and seen her in the build, we left the day before the launch and would have loved to be there for this. thanks for the video.

6:00 min of nonsense, 1:30 of boat in the water. Should be the other way around.
James Ford I am sorry for your disappointment. After the schooner was launched, they took her far from shore fairly quickly. Any more shots of her in the water would have been at a great distance. I could only show the lead up to the launch with any close up quality. Please search CZcams for "Schooner Ruth Official Launch Video" and tell me what you think of their efforts to cover this event. Cheers!
That doesn't really explain why so much vid. of people on a beach were edited in but we went from the trailer submerging to the vessel afloat in one cut.If you want to apologise, apologise for poor editing or if you lost the footage say so.I'm not disappointed ,just not impressed.
As you say, the 'official ' vid shows more of the actual launch.(With VERY different music one can mute if preferred)
Barely any keel, surprised they stepped the masts before launching too.
