For those times you want a light rifle with no stock.
Running the numbers. a 300 grain bullet running 1634 fps gives a muzzle energy of 1778 ft lbs. For comparison, typical muzzle energy for 7.62x39 with a 123 grain bullet from an 18" barrel is right at 1600 ft lbs. 5.56 NATO clocks in at right around 1300 ft lbs of muzzle energy with a 62 grain bullet out of the popular 16" barrels that are in common use. So yeah, that thing is an intermediate rifle without a stock.
John Butler 7.62 has 12.6tko .50AE has 33.2
Looks kinda like the hand canon that Arnie used in Red Heat!
Im thinking about getting this as my daughter's first gun, she's due to be born in 3 months
That is a horrible idea.
@@mayorgeneralramirez1997 u didn’t get the joke I see
A great, big pistol that's made for hunting
Lickers.
It reminds me of Arnold's Gun in the movie RedHeat(1988) it was named Podbyrin as far as I could remember
@@johnklatt3522 Thank you for the facts😊
Ppffftttttt I found out about this pistol like 15 years ago when I played Resident Evil 2.... The description and a few gun magazines from walmart told me everything you just told me, but 15 years ago.
This is a great magnum for those who cant handle the sharp recoil of a revolver . Be nice to see a night sight fiber optic sight setup
“What does somebody do with this thing?” Shoot it at Robocop when he’s coming at you.
Since you mention the performance loss with the gap between a cylinder and the barrel, no this piston system would not give you everything the round could give. You would get everything out of that round if it was shot out of a bolt action type rifle or similar system where some of it's energy is not redirected to cycle the firearm. Thought you'd know this.. ha
LOOK'S FUCKING BAD ASS
Do you have one in the 10" with a long slide, I would pick one up in a heartbeat
just bought one, the accessory rail was .013 under sized and the optics sat crooked. HOWEVER its a tack driver @ 200 yds.
With modern body armor the desert eagle Is the pistol of choice
because from what i've heard it jams up frequently in .357
never tried it myself though.
I want that gun!
"used for hunting" pshhhh
Why dont they make a longer barrel for the 357? ☹ i love the look of the gun with the longer barrel
Pretty sure the Mk1 desert eagles came with long barrel options
badass
10 inch looks better
Cool
This is why i own 2
can it go from a .50 10" barrel to a .44 6" barrel?
Very easily. You just need a mark xix .44 magnum barrel and a mag. The earlier Desert Eagles had a slimmer barrel and don't fit
+rangerover06sc wow, It's been so long - I had forgotten I asked that here. It's been well over a year. Nonetheless - someone took the time to reply, and for that I thank you. I actually have that set up now, and am enjoying every time (I'm able to afford) I shoot it.
I just saw one for 1300 on gun broker brand new, not too bad. Is there a muzzle break for the 10 inch one though?
Not factory made, but custom gunsmithing there is, but I'd hate to see that price tag on that. I had mine, which is recommended as it already weighs over 5lbs with a full magazine, ported by MagNaPort. If interested - just Google and read opinions on the procedure.
@@MJLiptak Maybe a Fontal Grip or a Stock should finish the combo for better stability and recoil control, plus i bet it would look sick too.
Just got the 44 magnum 10 in for $830 off of GunBroker
Resident Evil 2 brought me here.
Shame the desert eagle has its baseline around the 50 ae when the 440 corbon is a much better round.
Better for the shooter, but not the business. They didn’t sell, and rounds are hard to come by - at least cost effectively.
Michael Liptak but the rounds are better than 50 ae, make them sell, that's what marketing is for.
+Alex xeon don't tell me. You'll have to pitch Magnum Research with that.
yeah 440 Corbon has 2260 & 2350 youles energy wich really is much stronger than 50 ae but good for us that knows that we can built it 440 corbon and be some of not alot people having that version.
I owned the .440 CorBon when it first came out. I had the 6" in Black Oxide finish. It was great until after I got about 50 rounds through it. It then started to explode the firing pin and firing pin stop out of the back of the pistol when firing. Magnum Research said they were experiencing a gas tube problem internal to the barrel and there was no remedy other than a barrel replacement. Foolishly, I asked them to replace the barrel under warranty with a .50AE...they complied. I sure wish I had asked for another .440 CorBon barrel. They are getting some serious coin these days on auction for a factory .440 CorBon Desert Eagle.

I just need to find a fanny pack that will fit it and still be stylish.

"Do you have a somewhat practical firearm recommended for bear country..."
"Why yes several a shotgun is both priceworthy and the firearm of choice"
"I'd like it to be small enough for me to carry on me at most times to not offend anyone but mainly to let my body heat keep it warm during winter"
"perhaps a serbu super shorty"
"I feel i must be able to fire off several rounds faster than pumping the gun thogh not stopping to see if it worked"
"But the pump will...."
"Not the pump please"
"How about a nice revolver that ought to"
"Hmmmmm interesting interesting but what if i cut my fingers im used to two hand shooting and im afraid to place my off hand around the cylinder gap"
"Er how about this desert eagle"?
"oh what's the biggest one?"
look like podbyrin 9.2mm from red heat
The Podbyrin 9.2 was a modified .357 Magnum Desert Eagle.
It is the Podbyrin 9.2
Tim LaFrance used a Desert Eagle Mk 1 as the base for the Podbyrin. It was given modified P-38 type grips, a new Makarov-type finish, and Soviet-looking proofmarks.
10 inch or the regular 6 inch?
TheSushiandme this made me laugh
It comes in 6" or 10" plain or 14" with a compensator.
@@SidneyBroadshead thanks for the info... 8 years too late LOL
Used to have the 14" Israeli version in the late 80's
Danko's version looked cooler
Trus
Why no .357 magnum
Is this available as 16"?
It is available as a compensated 14-inch barrel.
@@SidneyBroadshead Are they available for .50AE as well? Or only .44 Mag?
why would you want to convert between .50 and .44? too much hassle. chances are if youre buying a .50, you alrdy own numerous guns and have no need to change barrels / magazines
For the versatility, I would suppose. Changing barrels takes about a second or two, not complicated at all. The take down on the Desert Eagle is "so easy a caveman can do it" simple. I bought a 6" in .44 Magnum back in 2009 and then got a 6" .50AE barrel a couple of years later. .44 Magnum is downright pleasant in the Desert Eagle, pretty much like shooting .45acp out of a full sized 1911. I can stand to shoot it until burn through a couple of 50 round boxes. .50AE is a different beast in the same gun. It thumps. If I'm fresh, I'm good for about three full magazines. Then I get tired enough that I lose the ability to control the recoil and the gun starts tossing hot brass in my face and I know I'm done shooting for the day. I also got a .357 Magnum bolt and barrel for it, mostly so I could shoot it more cheaply, at least relatively speaking. Changing the bolt out requires tearing down the slide, but that's no more complicated than taking down an AR. And really hot .357 Magnum, like 158 grains at 1600 fps hot, feels like soft loaded 9mm from a Glock 17, aside from the noise and muzzle flash. There's no recoil to speak of from a handgun round cranking out 900 ft lbs of muzzle energy. I like getting trigger time with the Desert Eagle and the "smaller" calibers let me do it longer.
The .44 round is cheaper....
can you put a silencer on one of these.
James C You can as of 2018. Old comment but I thought I would give an answer.
You mean suppressor, sir.
That thing sure looks handy for when someone tries to smuggle cocaine in their peg leg...
haha I just imagine him shooting the machine set up 2:41
Too picky with the ammo it will fire. Not at all reliable
Неуклюже смотрится.
Hunting for tyrants perhaps
I'm sorry, but that thing is hideous haha.
it looks ugly

That gun is so ugly!! Lol
