- A notorious Bradford criminal has had his luxury apartment in Huddersfield and his Porsche taken off him.
Mohammed Nisar Khan, also known as Meggy, is currently serving a life sentence for murdering Amriz Iqbal in October 2018.
He has a long criminal history for other offences including robbery, possession of firearms, perverting the course of justice, theft, handling stolen goods, and assault.
The National Crime Agency claim Khan was the head of an organised crime group involved in drug supply, firearms offences and violence across West Yorkshire.
During a high-profile trial that took place at the end of 2018, it was said that Khan was in rivalry with Huddersfield man Yassar Yaqub and was suspected of informing police that Mr Yaqub had a gun moments before he was shot dead by an officer.
In May 2019, Khan was jailed for life with a minimum term of 26 years after being convicted of murdering Mr Iqbal in a hit-and-run in Bradford.
In February last year, Mr Justice Thornett issued a High Court order where the NCA recovered Khan's Porsche Cayenne, which bore the registration ’MEG5S’.
In October last year, a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation led to Mansoor Mahmood Hussain - a businessman who allegedly laundered money for notorious criminals in the Leeds and Bradford area and had links to the likes of Meggy and convicted armed robber Dennis Slade but has no convictions - having almost £10m worth of assets seized through an unexplained wealth order (UWO). It was the UK's first successful UWO.
