The writers never skimp out on making everyone fleshed out in terms of character. The toxic fan clearly is unstable, but the way he talks makes it seem like he's obsessed over dozens of genres of music.
He's crazy and toxic. But in a very... realistic way.
And that right there is what makes him bar none the most terrifying character in this show. Ton is a bad boss, but he's at least a caricature that has somewhat redeemable traits. This fan, however, is a monster. And there are many people in the real world that're exactly like him: Monsters who love a certain thing to the point of obsession, and would have no qualms murdering whomever they believe is ruining that thing in cold blood.
@@yookeemookee dude that happened quite some times. There was this one girl who got killed by a fan over nothing, she even hugged him or sth right before he killed her. She was widely known and on the way to become a singer, but he killed her because of his obsession.

This is the part where "Aggretsuko" went from "The Office" with cute furry animals, to taking several pages out of the script for "Perfect Blue".
This scene alone is what I loved about season 3! Whoever did the voice of the creepy fan did a fantastic job! Just the cinematography, and the way they made him so imitating gave me chills when I first watched it! Scary thing is, this happens in real life with idols! They nailed it in the animation department!

This is a topic that shouldn't be saved in just adult cartoons...toxic fans start YOUNG and spreading awareness for what fan NOT to be would be great in tweens/teenager shows.
It should the problem is how to put it into the show without parents getting angry once’s they learn of it or the network it’s aired on saying that it’s too mature and needs to be taking out or else the show is cancelled

When I saw this episode I was like we're at the security guards and they should know that these so called fans have no right to talk to people that way and that's how Selena end up killed and oh my God this is scary, he should have been like blacklisted on the shows that they perform.
They were all new to the idol industry. They didn't have enough experience to know how to deal with stuff like that. It makes sense, if you aren't experienced enough to know the difference between criticism and harassment, you might feel like silencing him would make people think you were unable to take criticism, which since the idol industry is sold on the idea of marketing a parasocial relationship with a small-time pop star, it can be a worry whether silencing criticism would make the idol seem stuck up and unfriendly, which is bad for the 'brand'. Not to mention there is also the fact that if he spent enough money to get 100 tickets, meaning he bought 100 CDs. If he bought all that and was then denied service for the tickets, someone without experience in the idol industry would reasonably wonder if it's even legal to deny him a service he rightfully bought just for saying some mean things. It is totally legal to deny him service and outright ban him from future events, but I can't blame a bunch of newbies to the industry for not knowing that and freezing in place. You have to remember this is the first time this has ever happened to them. They froze. They weren't equipped for the possibility of this handling and didn't know what to do. That's the explanation for why they didn't do anything

Sadly, it probably has to do with money. OTM around this time is still somewhat underground (indie), so every yen counts. They can't afford to loose money.
That stalker gave the group a lot of money, even though it was spend to harassed Resuko.
And of course toxic idle culture plays a part too. If Hyodo intervenes it could cause a scandal. In Japan one scandal can cause heavy damage on your career. Since OTM around this time is tight on money, one scandal can destroy the group.
