2014 Spurs have to be mentioned. Epitomized an excellent passing game and beat the Heat by a record setting margin which solidified LeBrons Cleveland return. Chris Bosh even quoted this squad as the best team he’s ever seen. A reach by todays standards, but still worth mentioning
They’re S tier. I think when talking about the GOAT team it’s them, the 96 Bulls, 17 Warriors, 86 Celtics, 01 Lakers
Spurs beating heat didn’t make lebron go to Cleveland casual there’s a backstory. A fan ran on the court with a shirt saying “come back lebron” on the front and on the back it said “we love you” in Cleveland and lebron talked about it and also rich Paul his friend talked about going back to Cleveland with lebron

Even in 2011, if that series is played out again 10 times the heat would’ve won at least 8. Luck was definitely on the mavs side that year, took a horrible performance by Lebron, some insanely clutch plays for them to top the heat in 6.

I'm going to say the most unpopular opinion. Dallas Mavericks championship team A or S. They dominated the playoffs and they had the better 5 players +/- ever. Closing lineup with kidd-terry-marion-dirk-chandler has better +/- than 2017 warriors closing with iggy and better than 96 bulls with kukoc
They also made sure LeBron would never be known as the true GOAT.

@@userunknown1578 L, Lebron didn't choke, Mark Cuban already made skip bayless look stupid for saying this. The mavs ran a triangle zone and the heat were stupid and had a lesser player like wade run the point. The mavs saw an opporunity to run a triangle zone and kept 3 players between Lebron and the ball the entire series. You don't have the best player in the league run off ball like that when he dominates the point because of this scheme Lebron got very few touches and only average 18 on 52% shooting. He shot very well when he got the ball. That defense would have worked against Jordan too. The heat didn't adjust and lost the series. The next year they had Lebron running point and he went back to back. Stop hating and learn ball. (Not saying Lebron is the goat but what you just said about him never being the goat over this series shows how little you understand basketball defenses and zone schemes and how much they impact the game.)

2012 heat weren’t better than 2013 . Even tho Wade started to decline , 2013 heat had more depth with Ray, and Lebron was at his single season peak defensively and shooting wise

@joceja23 He faced the Thunder (young af team) in a lockout shortened season. Bron had proven before '12, he could be beat consistently whether or not his team had more talent and whether or not he was the "best" player before the series started. '12 he's losing to almost any repeat champ in history and a TON of other 1st time championship teams. That's simply based on his '07-'11 where the only upset he was apart of was vs. Pistons in '07 (and that's barely an upset).
Steph Curry MVP season with Klay, Dray at their prime? A tier at least. I don't get that one especially when they were a better team than Nuggets currently are.
Same for kobe, pau, world peace, Bynum, Odom, fisher team was legit

Nah they weren't. Nuggets this year had it all, offense, defense, a player (if not 2) every game to pull them when they needed to. Imagine how strong they were when Porter was missing 4-5 matches in a row (3rd best player) and still managing to win and with a solid result. People still underestimate the Nuggets, but they really are a force of a team.

I think in the future, a way to rank these teams is to think if you were to redo the playoffs 10 times how many times would they win again, and how would they do against a better team.
Me personally would maybe put the 2015 Warriors in B tier but other than that pretty good list

2022 Warriors is close to it. They're really ass without Steph that year, with 2nd and 3rd best players Wiggins and Poole. Dray was washed that year in terms of offense. Steph really carried and willed that team to a ring.

Looking back in a few years, you'll see how everyone doubted the Nuggets. And they were an S tier because they fought off teams of superstars and were counted out due to that. Murray and Jokic will grow even better.
If Nuggets can achieve a dynasty like the MJ-Pippen Bulls and the Shaq-Kobe Lakers did.....they will be considered S tier.

2023 nuggets were great but I can't give them A tier because they faced 2 8 seeds (one of which was their opponent in Finals), a four seed and a 7 seed in WCF. Not saying they're great, but that should knock them down a few tiers. Sad because that team was solid.
As much as I do not like the '08 Celtics, you need to give them their proper credit. They literally went from worst to first following the KG and Pierce trades. *24 wins to 66. That is an insane turnaround. Their overall squad was great with Rondo. That needs to be A tier. And they beat the Lakers who were a 1 seed.

I would put the 08 Celtics lower (C or D). You can tell me how deep the team is, but when you take 7 games for each of the first 2 rounds against a Hawks team with a losing record (38-44) and a Cavs team whose runner-up players are Mo Williams, and a washed Big Z, I cannot put them above a C.
