GREEN MACHINE GOES DOWN WHILE OUR ARC NEMESIS LOOMS!!!

- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, Oscar and I take our flagship, #11, a Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries, Century 1150R, heavy towing and recovery Rotator unit, over to our neighboring state of Illinois to help out a customer. The equipment delivery driver took a turn too short and dropped the trailer in a ditch. That wasn't the biggest issue, however. When the trailer went into the ditch, it hit a steel grate which broke one of the spring brake chambers off the trailer and bent the mounting. This, unfortunately, creates another situation that we have to deal with, we must perform temporary repairs to the brakes so the tires will roll freely. Then we escort him home. All the while our "ARC" nemesis, the overhead power lines, are looming. And, yes, I meant to say "ARC"...it's a "play on words" because the power lines can ARC and hurt or kill us. Anyway, the job comes off beautifully as we continue to build our crew. I'm very proud of our team!!! Polite, professional, efficient, and safe... I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

Oscar looks to be a real asset to you. Quick worker, and able to anticipate needs & solutions!
Probably not so he can not have to work as much he’s getting older probably wants to spend time with his family now
Oscar seems very good he is always thinking ahead and is very fit and agile , good man to have around 👍
Yep he is no grass growing out his feet .
I have to say I am more impressed with Oscar all the time. You can tell he is always thinking and seems to have pretty good knowledge of the trucks systems. Job well done
I have been impressed with Oscar since the first time I saw him. He is a hard worker and not afraid to jump in and either help or learn. Great employee. So impressive!
Nice to see you packed gloves into the clean cab this time.
Oscar looks like a hell of a worker and the man that will do big things in life. Strong worker and willing to step up for anything. Glad to see you take him in.
FYI. If you ever need to cap off a brake air line. A US dime fits perfectly in the brake line fittings. As a Canadian trucker I always kept a roll of US dimes in my toolbox. Saved my backside more than a few times.
do we want to know how you found this out? maxxod1
Mr Ron Oscar seems like he is doing well. He jumps right in and gets it done. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
Well Done Ron and Oscar. You handled both problems with compassion and ease.
having made a similar mistake in the past, I won't give the driver a hard time, and if someone hasn't made a mistake as a professional driver... well it must be nice to be perfect.
I can really appreciate Ron's non-judgmental approach and professionalism (not sure I spellled that right). for anyone that hasn't pulled that type of trailer, they do seem to swing quite a bit wider than you would think
Oscar is a keeper. A real go-getter. Good job guys! Stay safe and God bless.
Good thing for you that you’re mechanics and not just a towing company
ONE THING I LIKE ABOUT OSCAR HE GETS TO WORK FAST GET THE JOB DONE
As others have commented, Oscar seems to be fitting in well with a very 'can do' attitude to boot!! In regard to the overhead power cables, that could have got very shocking very quick. Needless to say that wasn't going to happen any time soon!! Another well executed lift, swing and repair job. Greetings from the UK. God bless.
Like a good Neighbor... Ron Pratt is there...!
👍👍
@@-ray-h,
I think the folks in Illinois would call them back -- gotta love that customer service!!
Great job, @Ron Pratt AND Oscar!
@@paulprobst7728 totally agree with you Paul...! 👍👍
Love me some Oscar. God bless him, keep him safe. Ron, you are all around good man. You teach, you care.
Oscar is doing well and is definitely an asset to the team.
Always enjoy me a Friday Ron Pratt videos.
You’ve got a good worker there in Oscar. He doesn’t hesitate, he goes straight to work.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and god bless..
👍✌️
Oscar seems to be a great addition to the team he is a quick learner and in good shape he listens well and thinks with his head definitely a keeper
Great Job it's good you know how to fix things like brake systems on those tractor trailers !
Out of state recovery got to go where the people need your assistance 👍
Another Ron to the rescue there situation. I bet they are happy to have you guys around there. Another awesome recovery. Thanks for sharing and God Bless you guys.
Man, this is like being in Candy Land. Come back from vacation and have not one but 3 MWT/Ron Pratt videos waiting to view. Inside the cab sure looks nice when it's cleaned up. Now figure out where the extra gloves, insect repellent, wipes, boots and cold drinks are when you need them. LOL
Oscar seems quite an asset to you, he almost is ahead of you and you never have to tell him anything twice .
great job, good job with trouble shooting the trailer air supply and service brake system. Shows how not to get tunnel vision when isolating an issue. Keep all options on the table...It would be easy to focus on the damage and overlook the reservoir needing to fill to supply suspension.
It's nice to see that you finally have a person (Oscar) that knows how to work and doesn't stand around like a lot of people you have had working alongside of you.
Ron, bet Oscar is like you when you were younger. Really seems to know what he is doing.
Oscar is progressing nicely!! Stay safe and God bless
#wherestalon
Talon runs the workshop
Smooth move Ethan. The inside of the rotator does look awesome. Great job.
Ron Pratt is tops in my book. Professional all the way. Oscar is a good asset to the company
Another job well done. You and Oscar did a great job and worked well together
Nice to see a more ambitious crew coming on. Very cool!
I miss the videos where you show and explain the rigging and setup. I still enjoy the videos though because safe out there Ron and Crew.
Personally I like the rigging parts cut out. Most of us know how he rigs things. I'm always skipping through all the rigging parts of every video. When we see him lifting we can see how he rigged it.
Great job guys as always. Not a hard job just a bit time consuming with the air issue and all but you all got it done with in an hour of arrival.
Thanks for the video have a great week end, team.
You did well, or got lucky, in finding Oscar. You could use a couple more like him.
Nice job on the detail work, Ethan! I hope you leave all the toys out so it don't look like a playpen in there! lol
Wow Oscar is really catching on great he gets in and gets her done great job guys. Eathen did a great job on the detailing of the truck.
I'll add my 'me too' on Oscar looking like a very good addition to your team.
Time lapse on this one would have been "blink and you miss it"! Well done and quick as heck!
Great video where did you find Oscar he is a great fit for the team
Thank you for all the videos
Great job Eathan on the cleaning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great job , as always, Oscar looks like he likes his job. Great boss
Oscar is a Hustler.
Very interesting
I used to know these as "dynamiters". (Spring brakes). Only ONE of the guys in the parts store I worked was allowed to disassemble and repair them. They had a chunk of a can had popped loose and imbedded itself in a nearby door frame--left the piece there as a reminder and for "show and tell."
Ron, on your last video that I watched, you mentioned Ethan "detailing" the "Pete". I failed to say how much difference I COULD tell, at least in the seats.....GREAT WORK ETHAN....
Great job Oscar and Ron.
Just wanted to say I enjoy your videos. Hal with a towing/recovery company in South Carolina, Sumter Wrecker Service, speaks highly about you and your words of wisdom on his CZcams channel. Hal is located about 45 minutes from my house. Both of you do great work with everyone’s safety and well being in mind.
That's awesome and I highly respect him and his work ethic as well. Thank you for sharing that bit of information. Made my day!!! Thank you for watching and God bless.
GOD BLESS YOU RON AT ALL TIMES
Good job guys 😊😊
Now my Friday is complete after watching this video
We're not able to roll without replacing the brake booster Ron.
The tow truck operator's shop would have a mechanic who can replace the booster on site. What was he doing cutting the corner anyway?
It was worse than just the brake booster. The booster mount that welds to the axle was bent and had the rod jammed. Off-camera we can to cut the push rod to free the brake on the driver's front trailer axle. The mount had to be cut off and replaced inside a shop. I'm not certain, but I believe the S-cam housing may have also been bent. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Great word! Excellent!
Ron how that break is working is like a wedge now. He was able to back up cause they back off the drum. But when he pulled forward the brake basically wedges on the drum vise grips onto the cam shaft twist it back would help pull the brakes off the drum
Ron,
Nebraska has their high wires under ground or extremely cut short poles.
This helps with high winds, tornados, blizzards.
The first time I saw those short poles: AMAZED!
Oscar is a great addition to your grew and it looks like he will be good man on the rotator . Hope he will be doing videos also .
Another great job done.
Good JOB. NICE ROTATOR
For your next Q&A if you were to spec out a new rotator what things would you change and are those things due to new technology or due to real world usage with the current truck.
Yet again another interesting job - Oscar seems to be very pro - active and gets the tools for the job ready instinct'ivley. Incidentally, I found the load interesting a JCB Reach Loader - a British designed machine, their World HQ is about 20 miles from where I live but I guess that one was manufactured in their US factory. Keep up the Good Work!
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
Good Morning from Iowa. Like so many love your videos and explanations of what you’re doing. Amazing all the knowledge you have, even on the brakes. LOL you’re a generous of information
That truck is an amazing piece of machinery.
Ron it looks like you found a real winner with Oscar. He seems very capable and learns quick. How soon before you send him down to take the Miller Rotator qualification course.
Nice job Ron. You have become a fan favorite on Bonehead Trucker but in a good way.
Stay safe.
Oscar looks good at what he does but Oscar just looks good anyway!!!😀
Oscar is quite the employee for a new hire. Keep him happy.
See you guys took all the stuff on the dash
off , looks a lot better
The trucker has to know that he has to get the air system pressure up.
We'd hope!
Awesome! Sir, Oscar - thanks guys.
Thanks for another great video
thanks for the upload, god bless you sir.
Oscar👍loved watching you two work together God Bless stay safe
Awesome job as always
It is really nice to see our police officers helping and not just looking to write citations,
Another award winning job! And, yes even Sunbelt Rentals needs Mid West for a rescue!
I had to have the rear of my freight van picked up and swung inline with the dock in old Cleveland once. Useing the overhead boom in the plant.
I told my boss after i got loaded
Never went back. I had a small bunk conventional IHC and a 48' dorsey van. I was useing all the street and sidewalk.
If that had traveling axles and the driver had caught it in time he could have shortened up the swing.
Love the work.
Busy morning, I forgot it was the best day of the week.
The best being Ron puts up a video.
Keep up with the good work love watching you on CZcams god bless
D/T; swing wide you got a trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Ron, nice recovery!
Nice job Ethan on the detailing man...!
Love watching your videos, from Alabama
Thank you so much for the video please keep going with posting more videos a week God bless you
Guess it could have 30000 on rear TRL very heavy built Ron nice video on edge of seat watching
SO much yelling is required on this job 😆
love them power lines
Good Morning There My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & I'll Be Praying For All Of The People
You have one awesome team and video. I love you flag Denis from Santa Rosa CA USAF veteran. I really appreciate your flag .
Let's see... Obviously, you know how to run the Rotator and Ethan knows how to run the Rotator. If Oscar is training on the Rotator, does this mean you're going to need another Rotator? LOL
Or a day off :)
Or they might do a Rotator-roster-rotation
Sunbelt Rentals 💯💜
GREAT Video!!! Nice and safe!!!! 👍☺️😮
Hey Ron you forgot the wheel chock
Excellent!! BRAVO!!
Since you hired Oscar. He really knows what he's doing. You have trained me good. Still has a lot to learn.
Might get some brake clean and spray leaky hydraulic hoses fixed to get rid of oil. Keep um clean
Nice job Ethan. Please put the toys back...
Have a great weekend
