If i wasnt an Irish fan, and looking at it objectively I'd be picking Ireland by more than 7. But because im Irish, i don't want to jynx it...i really do think the QF mental block will be in the players minds, especially if its very close coming into the last 10-15 mins. You can never write off the all blacks, but i really think they're vulnerable here. I don't think they have the confidence previous teams have had.

We saw how Christie against the France , and when Royguard came in the subsequent games - thought he is going to be our weapon in the knock out stages. Royguard's non selection is very confusing . Foster claims he needs better defence around the ruck - we have to take his word for it. He also mentioned before the France game - not to expect the players at their peak at that time - again , we have to trust what he says. I hope he knows what he is talking about. Time to deliver Mr Foster! I hope you are right

    Consider the following for NZ:
    1. In terms of backup 10 minutes into the game or 60 minutes into the game, there is good backup for all the positions. Against a solid team like Ireland where solid support and experience is required behind the pack, if change is needed after 10 minutes ( God forbid) would you prefer Roygard or Christie? My opinion is that the selectors have got it right.
    2. Imagine 20 minutes to go, game is tight, all the subs are in BUT with the following surprises… Whitelock packs with Retallick and Scott Barrett replaces Frizell to maintain height in the line outs, Dalton replaces Sam Cane, and surprise surprise … all three playmakers on the field with Rieko replacing Leicester on the wing…. we will be solid yet creative in the field and a ton of experience ( more than Ireland) bringing us home.
Add to this the fact that the Irish first 15 have been playing all the games to date … will they be tired mentally, will they be frustrated that they have not put away the game, are they worried they are letting down their supporters, they did lose to Scotland in the last 10 or 15 minutes … will that happen again. NZ has been a favourite or the favourite before all World Cups prior to this World Cup, they too had several winning streaks longer than 17 yet they did not win all the World Cups … would all these things affect the Irish game in the last 20 minutes?

When exactly did NZ have "several winning streaks longer than 17"? That's just not true!
They've had a few unbeaten streaks (including draws) longer than that, but the only longer NZ winning streak, was the 18 tests won from Aug 2015 to Nov 2016 - when they were beaten by Ireland in Chicago, as it happens.
A record which Ireland can match, if they win on Saturday - just yet another fascinating subplot, that makes this matchup even more compelling.
      C'mon Ireland! 🇮🇪

So, what we’ve actually got nowadays, is something akin to Ireland telling not just the AB’s, but telling the world “…..this is how we play. Come and beat us…..”. And that’s the conversation nowadays. The AB’s are definitely the underdogs in this game. The World Order has changed. And New Zealand are only being spoken about now in terms of what they used to be, with the aura of the iconic words “All Blacks”, the only reason why some people are failing to accept that Ireland are now the world leaders.
Now, while New Zealand won’t actually slip lower than number four in the World Rankings if they lose to Ireland, what it means is that no. 4 is as good as NZ can hope to be until about the final 6 months approaching the next WC four years from now. Maybe no. 3 in the rankings is achievable in about two years. But the next WC is definitely the target for the AB’s. Forget about this one.
Ireland should win this upcoming game, by about 10 to 15 points I would imagine. I sincerely hope they do. In fact, as an Irishman (and a fully committed Leinster supporter), I hope they win by considerably more than that. Putting 40 or 50 points up against New Zealand, would then dispel any illusions that New Zealanders have about their position in world rugby.

NZ just need to play tactically and wisely, and not doing anything stupid. The pressure will come at various moments in the game. Will they cope? Will they have the mental fortitude to come back if they are behind in last 20 minutes? Will Ireland just be too good? We'll find out on Saturday. Let's hope the TMO doesn't decide this game. Won’t be any need for a TMO to decide the game. Ireland will be comfortable winners, 12 to 15 point margin (quite possibly more). The last 15 to 20 minutes of the game will see NZ desperately seeking scores while Ireland will be comfortable in defence and maybe picking off a couple of 3 pointers just to keep the board ticking over.

So many punters revering Wayne Barnes, who has a record of major gaffes...I just hope he gets off his pedestal and sets the standard for finals... He has a way of dismissing players.

From a Bok supporter. ABs too classy for Ireland. Southern hemisphere will dominate again, just like they have historically.

No. While there might well be a red card, the game will be decided by the 30 to 40 points that Ireland rack up…

Ireland has never progressed past this stage in any RWC... Pressure is on them... they are playing the greatest rugby nation in the history of the game... All Blacks are built for these moments... ABs win and go all the way.

There is a better chance that SA bt France than NZ bt Ireland...and France will probably just win, which gives you the idea of the task NZ have...They lost in the last 15 min against the French, so if they can up they game in this period, they could make the impossible possible.
