With the salt shaker trick it's good to have a quarter and to tell them these exact words, "It's going to go thru the table." Everyone assumes you mean the quarter so then you go tapping the quarter with the salt shaker and moving your hands back. Then you pretend to gently put the salt shaker down and have them flatten the napkin.
