I see mentions of Shuten’s FGO depiction in the comments, and honestly, I like both. They show two different versions of drunkenness; relaxed and slow, and irrational and enraged. Both of them also have beautiful hair too

1:11 now that makes sense why Lady Chacha from dlc was possessed by nine tailed fox. It was summoned for a very long time ago, before William arrived in Japan
so Chacha gained her mothers Fox Spirit as well as the big bad Tamamo (going off the bio of the Nine Tails from NIoh), two foxes for one lady.
@@TheSSBBfan666 Since this Fox was in the same place as Shuten was, it is VERY safe to say that this particular Yakogitsune was indeed Tamamo-No-Mae herself, as they are both 2 of the 3 Great Yokai of Japan.
@@FiendMatadorSlayerOfNoobs 100%, those corpses are Abe no Seimei and Minamoto no Raiko. Shuten even mentions her by name. Together with Otakemaru (and perfectly so, because the place where you kneel to seal him away forms a triangle with the other two), Tamamo and Shuten form the full trio of Great Yokai
Raiko is also shown in the DLC tease cutscene as the second wielder of the Sohayamaru, soo.... expect to see more of her in the future.
@@Rhodann Where does Yamato no Orochi fit with in the Yokai Hierarchy if There are alreadfy 3 Great Yokai, as well as Nurahariyon?
@@godzilla4189 Outside of the Three Great Yokai, Yamato-No-Orochi comes very close.
But unlike the Kijin Trio, while incredibly powerful and feared, Orochi could die, although it did require a bit of trickery, a lot of sake, and even divine intervension in the form of the recently banished god of the storms and seas, Susano'o.
As far as I can tell, the Demon Gods can't be killed, only sealed away.

It is true for some of NioH bosses, since Warriors series is made by Koei too, so they kinda make reference to Warriors versions of some characters. And it's good that it's not just Warriors version copy, because imagine figthing vs Orochi or Himiko from WO lol

well Orochi kinda appeared. As Yamada no Orochi appeared in Nioh. His human forms were simply his avatars.

Samurai Warriors has always had a bit open story. With each game making the same story presented in a bit alternative way.
So in the end we can combine both franchises as part of same universe.

(1:49) and at (3:23) took a sip of that yak and passed out I love that part and aye respect to Shuten Dōji he took one last sip of that yak before he died (4:23) and then I'm glad I played the DLC Darkness in the Capital his words makes so much sense now (4:29), "This is no end... We will march through the streets of the capital once more... And you, Raiko... You piled me with great drink, but I forget not what happened next..."

He was in weak stage after being release. In DLC you would fight him in full power.

According to myth, Shuten Doji used to be human who was training to become buddhism monk but also unruly alcoholic and was in the end transformed into an ogre as an punishment for his sinful behaviour
In another myth, he is the son of the Serpent Yamata-No-Orochi, so it could also mean why he isn't normal and mega powerful

Might be DLC that we see Raikou, since Shuten here himself didnt seem to die.
If Raikou were to appear in a Nioh DLC, they would probably be male. No Mama Raikou in Nioh.

@@hongcong1426 Yeah, I mean they can't genderbend him aside from using his nickname Raikou since his real name is Minamoto no Yorimitsu, which is clearly a guy's name. Still, I'd find a genderbent Raikou cool. I actually think that lady from the DCL teaser is the same one we see sealing Shuten Douji with the Doujikiri at Byodoin. If that lady really is Raikou, then we might get a chance to fight Shuten Douji again, a more challenging fight this time I hope.

Anyone agree that he is one of the easiest boss fights? As a ancient yokai, he's incredibly slow and his attacks are easy to dodge.
Hoping they reuse him for the DLC, quite unbelievable that he could be downed like that even when he is drunk off his mind.
all the bosses are easy but the game is much more fun I just unlocked ng+ so hopefully its hard

Since this is has a huge pool of smithing texts as well from a gameplay perspective he needs to be a bit easy to farm as well. Plus the difficulty alone always doesn't necessarily makes a good boss fight, setting also matters.

Using omnyo magic is *easy mode* in this game it takes zero skill and it's just as bad as summoning so if you use it you are a fucking cheesy ass scrub.

@@thatcringedfacedou Have you ever summon or used any kind of omnyo magic? Or heck anything at all other than your dodging, blocking, yokai abilities and super? If so then i cannot take your comment seriously.
Mr. Hater on my first play through I pretty much solo everything, none of the bosses took me over an hour to beat. Hell I even found the little minions more annoying than the main bosses
@@thatcringedfacedou That's fine took me around the same time for most bosses and played completely solo too but just checking as saying this game is easy is a bit of a overstatement.
