Can you please do a video breaking down the differences between the the Value, Moderate, & Deluxe resorts? What do you get for the extra money you pay for the more expensive resorts, is it worth it, etc?

AJ is right, every single meal I’ve had at Boatwrights is better than the last. The Prime Rib and Crawfish Bisque are the best things on the menu. I would recommend an earlier dining time since it will be less crowded and the service will be better overall

AJ! How could you forget to mention boat access to Disney Springs? Staying at French Quarter in December and will be boating over to Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming on arrival day. How’s that for surrounding yourself with southern comfort before braving a week of Disney Parks? Lol

Stayed at the French Quarter resort for a night earlier this month for birthday celebration -- we thoroughly enjoyed the beignets , the po' boys, and the shrimp and grits...the folks behind the counter make as much as possible to order and everything we tried (snacks and brunch) was very good. We also snagged a last minute dinner reservation to "Be Our Guest" so we had a very good -- very french - food experience for this trip.

My husband and I love, love, love Riverside. This is such a beautiful peaceful hotel, we love that we can take a boat to Disney Springs, and easily walk over to French Quarter if we want for food. I also love their bus system/stops it works so well. Another thing worth mentioning is that which ever hotel you are staying at out of these two you can use the others pool if you want as well. And I agree with you AJ love Boatwrights I had an amazing steak when we went my husband had the fish, we were both really happy and the staff was very nice and had no problem with substitutions.

I dragged my boyfriend and he loved it! Disney is perfect for couples as Disney has something for everyone. I would recommend staying in Port Orleans French Quarter as its a more chilled and less child like resort. Plus you can get on the boat and travel to Disney Springs which has so many adult style and romantic restaurants. if your boyfriend likes sports they are about to open a giant sports bar so I'm sure that would keep him happy.

Yes, the food is to die for!! I can attest to the burgers being amazing!! That one she showed in the video (Bayou Burger) is prime rib chunks on top of a burger, smothered in beer cheese sauce and topped with housemade sweet pickles on a hamburger bun. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! The prime rib just melted in my mouth and the sauce was delicious!! And I'm not a "pickle on a burger" person, but these actually complimented it quite nicely!!
And you are right- the resort is pretty quiet! It's serene and peaceful and just gorgeous! Everything is very well decorated and dare I say, understated, but in a good, subtle way. Nothing sticks out like a sore thumb or screams in your face LOOK AT ME I'M A RIVERSIDE RESORT!!! like the All Stars and Pop sort of do (not saying they are badly decorated, but, they are very over-the-top). It's exactly like you are actually there, and it's the real deal- not a fake, themed resort. And if you stand over the river on the bridge, you might just spot what we think was an otter flipping along the water one morning!!

We went to Boatwright's in May and again in July. It was amazing both times. We had the etouffee, the prime rib, and the fried chicken biscuit. They were all fantastic. Great, great flavor and AMAZING wait staff. The charcuterie board was definitely worth getting. The French Onion Soup is absolutely to die for. It is the best French Onion Soup we have ever had and is definitely the best French Onion Soup on property. We highly recommend visiting Boatwright's if you are staying at Port Orleans.

      @darlaakadarkviolet0stone380 Před 5 lety +6

As a diabetic myself, (type 2 and diagnosed over 2 yrs ago)I had to do Disney an entirely different way than I had in the past. I control mine thru medication and watch my sugar intake. This being said and I realize that type 1 is slightly different, perhaps I have some suggestions that might make it easier.
      1. At any Disney Table Service Restaurant the manager and Chef can help accommodate your needs. For example: The chef at Yak and Yeti came to our table for two reasons, my diabetes and my husbands peanut allergy. He sat and talked to us about what we may be interested for food on the menu and explained what he could do to make it happen. Love this restaurant for this very reason!
      2. Bring sugar free treats from home or order from Garden Grocer at www.gardengrocer.com/ prior to your trip. This way you can have yourself a treat just like everyone else.. They carry everything from organic and gluten free and sugar free to everyday regular items.
      3. All the Disney parks have the "healthy" snack items. There is fruit and cheese selections in every park. For example: Hollywood studios - heading down to tower of terror on the left you'll find a quick service stand w/ your fresh items.
hope this gave you some ideas. JMHO

Just stayed at Riverside in July. Even though we didn't have dinner reservations, the hostess at Boatwright's was still able to get us a table that night. The food and service was excellent and no one had any complaints. Drats! Totally missed the beignets over at Port Orleans though. We had rented a car (wife had to go to a conference at the Beach and Yacht club resort - faster to drive herself to the conference than to take Disney transportation to Epcot and then another bus to the Beach&Yacht club), and was totally happy to learn we were able to park our car right next to our room. (Today you have to pay to park your car, but we reserved the resort the last day before they started charging for parking.) The kids loved the pool and slide on Ol' Man Island.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in May, it is such a beautiful resort - truly feels like home. We made good use of The Riverside Mill which had a pretty decent options for Vegetarians. We didn’t bother with Boatwrights, just seemed pretty meh and dead most of the time! I only wish we had spent more time hanging at the pool/Muddy Rivers. Next time we’ll be heading over to French Quarter to sample some of those Mickey beignets, they just look too good to pass up!

We LOVE Boatwrights! One of our favorite restaurants at DW.

I loved Boatwrights for breakfast, but it has been years since I was in Disney.

You are not the only one that liked it. I loved this restaurant. I ordered more food than I could eat just to try different things. The fried green tomatoes were to die for and the sauce that came with them really made the dish. The red beans and rice was about what I expected, nothing spectacular with those. However, we shared the pork chop dinner and it was excellent as well, but it doesn't look like they have that anymore.

I love Boatwright's, too. On my last visit, I ate at O'Hana, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, etc, but my favorite meal was at Boatwright;s!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE POFQ - one of my favorite places to stay on property, regardless of price point. And if not staying there, I try to get on property at least once a visit to enjoy a walk around and soak in the gorgeously tehemed grounds and buildings, have a muffuletta and some beighets, and enjoy a beautiful boat ride to DS. I VERY much miss Bonfamille's that used to be the sit down restaurant there, especially their killer black skillet breakfasts. I also miss the much more fun theming of the old food court, before the refurb, loved all the Mardi Gras masks. The food court at POR is great - large, lots of room. The whole resort is so richly themed, but the aesthetic of POFQ just appeals to me so much more.

Port Orleans Riverside was the very first resort I ever stayed at, on my very first trip, way back in 2006. I fell instantly in love with PO, both Riverside and French Quarter, and have stayed 2 more times since (FQ), including just last month! Though AK is my home away from home and my ultimate favorite at WDW, I always make it a point to visit Port Orleans every trip for the food. This video was GREAT, and just made me miss that beignet sundae even more. Sadly, last month, I missed out on those boozy ones.

Thank you for this. My family is heading to WDW in 48 days(who's counting?) and are staying at riverside. I already knew I wanted Beignets but now I want so much more!

We love to take the boat from Disney Springs, take the carriage to Riverside, and follow it up with Yee-Haw Bob after dinner. Now that is a night to remember. Prime rib is tops at Boatwright's and the service has improved over the years. Just wish that they would bring back the Gumbo.

We absolutely love Boatwright's, especially the Shrimp & Grits. I wouldn't get that boring salad again, but there are plenty of other great options, like the Jambalaya.

Yayy POR!! My family stayed there in February 2016 and had the best time! It was our first time to WDW and we loved staying there. We went to Boatwright’s twice that week and I had the jambalaya both times and it was delicious! Nothing like a yummy meal and a glass of wine after a long day in the parks! Yeehaw Bob really was a fun surprise for us because we didn’t know a ton about our resort going in. AJ didn’t mention the boat access to Disney springs which really was key in our meal planning and just made the evenings so nice! Also our last night there we did heavy appetizers and drinks at river roost and then headed over to the food court and actually ordered a whole pizza to go so that was kind of fun! It wasn’t the best pizza we’ve ever had but it was nice to just relax in our room on our last night after a longggg (but fun) 6 days in the parks lol
