    As someone who plays ranged supports, I found this video extremely helpful. I've mostly known these things already, but I'm not very consistent when it comes to applying them, especially the deep wards (I usually place my ward a bit further up over the first river brush, which is not always enough).
    And I definitely hope that a lot of ADC players will see this, since it's kind of a coinflip if I'll get an ADC that pushes up so I can be oppressive with my Senna harass or Bard roams, or if they'll just let the enemy push with a big wave that makes hitting Bard stuns mission impossible while also leaving me vulnerable to engages.

    • @imrane9382
      @imrane9382 Před 2 lety +8

      It's because you are doing at a bad time , if you wanna ward deep you should push the wave first under their tower. This way your adc is forced to either recall or roam with you to put deep wards . Another thing to know is deep wards are so risky and im sure that you die alot trying to do that. Just drop wards that can give u info on the jungler when coming instead of deeply warding it (deep wards are more useful in late game when you have allies around u to go deep and when the plays happen in the jungle more than in lane )

He got a playlist called "How to support series" which will teach you amazing thing I guarantee it . Another interesting series to watch is CoreJJ guide on support which is also very informative. Another thing I can advice you to think about is how ADC actually is played. Try playing some games as ADC and you will understand better your role as a support. @@lupm7025 depends. if you're a caitlyn vs a vayne and you're saving all your cds at level one for like a leona level two spike, you're trolling. you could getting uncontestable damage to make the all in that much more threatening at level 1 which could solo win your lane. by the same note, if it's a vayne + yuumi lane then going to ability poke is just trolling because she can heal the vayne all the poke and you take free counter damage from two people if she just walks at you or tumbles. you have to be confident in your champion and what you can do freely and what you can't which takes time. I also recommend one tricking one adc through until at least plat so you can focus solely on matchups/macro (i recommend miss fortune as a pocket pick if banned and ezreal, jhin, or lethality sivir as a onetrick for low elo)

    I'd split it into 4 categories, Melee: Wardens and Vangards, Ranged: Enchanters and Mages.
    The difference is crusial, as example with Vangards vs Enchanters, you'd like the wave at your tower, but with Vangards vs Mages you're loosing way to much health and can't engage if they're poking and pushing you under tower.
    If you split it into 2 categories i'd much rather call it Proactive(Vangards/Mages) and Reactionary(Wardens/Enchanters) supports.

    • @GrowOrPayG

    really good video overall, but i think the last segment is a bit confusing. the whole section on engage supports was taking about the importance of keeping your hp high until level 2 or 3 with melee supports even if it means giving up cs vs double ranged lanes, which usually means letting the enemy push. but then, the last section that was theoretically an example of that was two examples of the melee support lane getting the push advantage

    • @abcdefghilihgfedcba
      @abcdefghilihgfedcba Před 2 lety

      I think the point is that at level 1, whichever case, you want to “push” the lane because you want to get to level 2 first. That’s the most important thing at the start. After that you can apply the strategy as explained; and at the end it does say that pushing the wave under turret lv1/2 is in order to have the wave bounce back into your turret so you can play from under it.

    There’s some melee supports that becomes strong at level 1, rather than 2… Pyke, Rakan and Pantheonfpr example. All Having extremely reliable level 1s.

    • @leek_san
      @leek_san Před 2 lety +1

      I would let the wave crash and thin it if I need to as Caitlynn has an easier time taking trades. Since the enemy is pushed up you can look for opportunities to take trades whether if it is through the enemies mispositioning, a jg gank, or your level 6 spike as Samira has a better engage at that point.

    me and my friend recently started playing for the first time. by far the most annoying thing for me as a beginner is matchup knowledge. theres so many champions in this game most of the time i dont know what the hell im up against. am i going to get instantly killed from half health by an ability ive never seen before or rooted from beyond the range of any of my abilities?

    just as an extra, you can transfer those support knowledge to all other lanes because you know jg timing, melee preserve hp for top and so enchanters for mid. This is why I dislike a lot ppl who think support is the easiest role when you have to adapt to all situations and being versatile in terms of skills, knowledge and macro.

  • @ike9108
    @ike9108 Před 3 lety

    it's more than this, like if you're against a zyra you got to heep distance as she hits level 2 cause she gonna poke you out of lane, how ever if you have leona,Alistair or rell(and only these 3) then you wanna bait her to over extend and go on her cause she still doesn't have E. you don't have to know every combination of bot lane duo, yet you need to know every champ.

      @valentintran6763 Před 3 lety

      With any melee carry bot, you're pretty much always in the "melee support" position. Your plan to win lane is to try some all-ins, which need a lot of health. Also, being melee allow the enemies to poke you easily, making it harder to hit the wave. Be patient and let it come to you. Check out the sololane classic melee vs range matchup to have some comparison.

      Best I can think of is freezing. Make sure they can't reset the lane and stand in a way impossible for them to engage without standing inside your turret. Sure, they could try to set up a dive, but that will most likely go wrong in anything below plat

      @willmano7623 Před 3 lety

      jinx heavily out pushes jhin in the first few levels, its not on the supp to push for level 2 it really depends on how much pushing power your adc has early on. a sivir will almost always be able to hit 2 first against something like a vayne, no matter the support.

    • @David-tr9xk
      @David-tr9xk Před 2 lety

      @@darkdemon9013 yeah they missed this, i would say melee comp would be best to keep wave in the middle, ranged comp to let the wave push to them and try poke from close to their tower and deny all in however a good melee support will counter this with a roam.
