Not to defend KI or MGI, but they have been saying in the last few KI Lives they have hired a lot more people for pirate, I also think pirate coming to Steam is a big deal and if done properly could breath some life into the game. I agree with you on the point of the false hope, they made it seem like it was a more immediate thing, it seems wheels are moving now but much later than originally thought
I mean I suppose that's good news, but I think the only thing that's actually gonna convince me at this point is some sort of announcement regarding new content for the game, just seems like they've been talking the talk for awhile now :(
I was so excited about Pirate potentially getting new content, now it feels like KI and MGI burned my crops, poisoned my water supply, and spat on my dog. Like guys I was willing to bust open my wallet and give you money for more funni pirate game content then you just slapped my hands away. I’m still vibing in it and drawing/writing about it but it sucks that I’m basically one of the only people left. Like I’m a fandom of one. I might hold out hope for another revival but at this point it all feels futile. No matter how much I love this game and its world and its characters, the people with the power to develop it don’t care.
Blame Kingsisle for making those stupid mobile games in the first place. The Founder Ellie Akilian kept blowing the companys money on making multiple mobile games. And it costed them millions into debt. Its no brainer Elie sold the company to Gamigo. If they listened to their players and actually focused on Wizard101 and Pirate101. They wouldn’t had sold the company period
Let's be honest, the game fate was sealed once they lost their devs who actually made the game the way it is today. KI really ruined their game back in 2016 when they laid off a lot of people.
I remember from ages 4-10 I would play this game 24/7 literally, but the lack of updates drew me away, this game could’ve been so much more it’s so upsetting. I wish they added more worlds, so much potential yet a waste of potential
They recently added Sinbad pt 1 and 2 and IS PART of the main storyline that leads up to the new world that has been confirmed to be released in 2024-2025 And they're adding Sinbad pt 3
Think about how long it takes to make a MMO, About 4-5 years. They functionally have to rehire and retrain THEN MAKE the games content. As much as it sucks it will be a while before the games are getting 1:1 content updates like players currently expect. For now it will be 1 MAYBEEEE 2 QoL or small updates a year.
Im upset as well pirate is my second favorite game and it sucks that bad management killed it. But im curious to see how sinbad part 2 is its supposed to come in spring
I've been playing, following and waiting about P101 content for a very long time. I still occasionally login and enjoy the game's current content and going through some of the new content they have sprinkled in. P101 Is getting updates but it has not been anything major - yet. P101 coming to Steam, new additions regards to the crown shop and still mentioning it in their KI lives.
i'm always ready to hop back into p101 whenever (been playing wiz since 2008), its just that kingsisle and mgi don't seem to have the same passion that us players have. feels pretty disappointing to update one of ur games annually and the other... not for multiple years? i dont see the point in not finishing what they started
Pirate didn't have a dedicated team from mid 2016-2021 and the old higher ups and CEO were the ones who abandoned the game. Yes it's been 2 years since the aquisition, but only about a year since they started hiring people and they basically have to rebuild how they handle updates and look at the game from a wider scope than just rushing out a world update. (remember how that went last time with VA2) It's almost like they're building a new mmo since they barely know what the pipeline for updates is just yet. They need till like 2024/2025 max, we're still in the very early stages of what is basically p101's new era
They do reference pirate a lot in novus so at least they haven’t forgotten also they are rebuilding the entire game pretty sure so that would take a while
@@FormalPhantom the old people who worked on the game were no longer working on it so the new people that are working on the game have no idea how anything works like combat so they basically have to redo everything from scratch it was mentioned that it would take them a while to figure everything out it was mentioned in a ki stream I think a year ago or so the game might not be the same as it once was if they ever figure out whatever they are doing with the game

If we get to the end of 2024/2025 and much still hasn't changed then I would start being extremely pessimistic. This year is basically their first foot in the door with small/medium updates to see what they can do as they grow again
The game could be revived but they need to update it and do balancing updates like wizards add new promotions and a new world there is potential in this game i personally thought it was better than the wizard101 story for the first part it was good I hate that they never update it

Yeah false hope was given from the new company but the very one that deserves the entire blame is KI.
