Hi. I am part Indian, part Cape Malay and part Netherlander... My maternal grandmother and mom used to cook sheep head as well, but they pot roasted it and I remember always enjoying it very much... Mmmm. I also cook it now for my hubby and I, and we just love, love it! I actually first clean it and then after spicing it, roast it in the oven for about 2 - 3 hours, or until cooked thru and crispy on the outside. My mom also taught me to ask the butcher to cut it thru like yours. Thereafter to remove the tongue and brains. I then start cleaning out the head really thoroughly, as I remember my mom mentioning to clean the "snot bene" thoroughly as well. I roast the tongue and head together. I cook the brain separately in a Masala curry for my hubby. 💯💯💯 Tasty 👌

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, I tried it yesterday, I currently don’t have an oven so I removed the liquid from the pot and pot roasted it and we all enjoyed it my husband and son are also giving it a thumbs up. I’m definitely gonna make it again, and I’m keeping this recipe.

Looks delicious tell me do they remove the worm in the upper nasal cavity towards the brain
They cleaned and removed everything that needed to be removed. 😁 All I had to do was to wash it before cooking.

Hi Chico, my oven was on bake. You can grill it also. It won't make much of a difference.
