@frankcastle9691 from a surface level, yes. However, if you know anything about street fighter, they are radically different characters.
@internallyscreaming2788 as far as basic attacks I mean. I'm not suggesting they are exactly the same.
@@frankcastle9691cause they have the same fighting style, so they share a lot of the same specials. Akuma modified his style, so he has more specials like demon flips and air fireballs. Akuma is execution heavy, check out Infiltration sf4 Akuma. Similarly, daigo's and sako's evil ryu are also execution heavy with lots 1 frame links in their optimal combos.
Technically they are the same character according to some recent wacky lore.
@@internallyscreaming2788 sf6 akuma is better at neutral/zoning and a lot worse at putting you in the vortex compared to sf4, so the comparison to Ryu here is not far off.

Tokido always finds a way to break daigo's defense.
Brilliant fight as you would expect from two giants of the game. Tokido on the front foot from the word 'Fight!' and never looked back. His defence was excellent too - much better than I've seen before. A good win for Tokido. ❤❤👏🏾👏🏾

but i also think he doesn't practice for competition as much as he used to because he's more of an ambassador to the fgc now.
AND imo, he's using the wrong character. He should be using GUILE or even RYU with how he plays.
Akuma is closer to EvilRyu, if they release anything like Evil Ryu he will play that all the time. But yeah, he's better with Guile or Ryu

He was forced to play guile .. now that sf is back and not the trash that it was b4, He can play his aggressive style that was his nature for 16+ yrs before guile was a thing.. except in dumb CEO tournaments vs anti akuma characters .. then he should switch off akuma and no Not guile

Hes not the force he was back in sf4 but I could still see him making a top 8 in a big event. He still takes out top players, its just consistency is the problem. If he sticks with Akuma I think he'll do well. But also a lot of his focus goes to running his own tournament's as well so its not 100% grinding the game.

Daigo like me plays SF6 like SF4. I don’t consistently do all that perfect parrying and don’t remember all the time I can finish someone off by extending my combo with drive rush more than one use in a sequence.

Sadly I think Daigo literally is washed up. Attend CEO 2024 and placed 25th. He hasn’t done much better in any other major in SF6. He’s hardly a threat anymore
