  • Watch Alan Seawright and his intrepid crew of college students try to make an entire movie, with almost no money, no experience, and no training! The result: The greatest documentary, about the greatest fanfilm, about the greatest show!
None of those things are true.
Still, if you want to basically watch behind the scenes of our film school. Since we didn't go to film school, instead, we made a feature-length action movie parody/homage to a TV show that we really liked that hadn't overstayed it's welcome yet.
See things like: How did we get Donny Osmond to be in our movie?
How do you make a feature for ~$15,000?
How do you do special effects and visual effects when you've never done them before or even seen them done except in the behind the scenes featurettes of better movies? (poorly, that's how!)
How do you make a movie sound good?
What is up with Alan's wardrobe?
    Is Jono really that excitable?
    Who is Jono?
Who are any of these people?
    Why am I watching this?
What am I doing with my life?

What's really weird is hearing Adult Alan's voice come out of Baby Alan's face.

I find it very impressive that you (Alan, others involved) were able to stick it out for over a year on this. That's a LOT of momentum to keep up (for approximately...zero dollars?)
I think the stunts are great (still not sure how Jono did that slip and land on his back on the stairs? That looked very real and painful). The ADR and foley work was really good too, I didn't even notice it or think of it when watching the full movie. I know you poke fun at this film, but I hope there's some pride and satisfaction mixed in there, too!

Oh, there definitely is! Like you say, we actually MADE and COMPLETED a feature-length movie! That's pretty incredible.

I had wanted to watch it after the movie but I ended up being too tired and then life happened. But I finally got to it today and that was really interesting! I have a tendency to be fascinated with behind the scenes things. Because it's difficult to even start to imagine how things are done. Once everything is blended into one art, the layers vanish and blurr into another. Actually, just like with handcrafting art and painting. I could probably spend days happily watching the making of a movie, helping to do fun chores like XD crafting on props and such.
Jono and Alan, you two are still the same people. Matured some, obviously, but very consistent in your natures. Especially the part of being kind and considerate and very invested into your passions.
Thank you for taking me on a smal part of your journey via this documentary.
