29 Day 2 (Alan's first movie)
The first film from Telekinesis Entertainment, and director Alan Seawright.
This is the first film I ever made. I had an idea for a sequel to Jonathan's movie (we were new roommates at the time) "29" and he told me, "I don't have time this semester, but you know a lot about movies, why don't you direct it?"
So I did. I borrowed a MiniDV camera (I have it on the shelf behind me), got a white-plastic iMac and Final Cut Pro v5, and made this. We spent $241 making the movie, basically all of it on food for people, gas and an air compressor for the explosion, and miniDV tapes. 9 of them.
Stay tuned for the Making Of documentary, that we made at the time (we were in peak DVD Special Features times. It was a great time to be a movie fan!) for our DVD.
I directed, edited, sound FX edited, did all the VFX and graphics, and did the color grade. It was exhausting, but I was never not having fun. Guess that's why I'm still doing this, 18 years later.

MOONSTRUCK Behind the Scenes Part 7: The Director

This is probably the most uncomfortable Alan Seawright has ever been. We're posting a video that David Sant (BTS writer/director/editor) made where most of the cast and crew of Moonstruck praise Alan and tell him he's good at things. Aside from being absolutely flustered that this makes him look like a self-aggrandizing pr*#&, Alan's just uncomfortable receiving genuine praise at all, especiall...

Caleb Blood is a very good composer. You get to see him be exceptional, and then in a few years, when he's scoring whatever the 2027 equivalent of Marvel movies is, you can be that annoying friend who's like, "Oh, Caleb Blood? I've been listening to his stuff since 2023. Like, where have you been this whole time?" Also, we recorded live musicians! (Thanks Kickstarter backers!) and Caleb and Ala...

Get to know editor Trevor Horton as you watch us cut all this footage into something that not only makes sense, but is actually scary, instead of just silly. Writer/Director Alan Seawright is not much help in that. j/k he's super-smart and a good editor in his own right. Also see what happens when you missed a shot during the shoot (a totally normal occurrence, in fact, it's amazing that we onl...

In an American feature film, this would end with a bunch of people cocking their handguns and going to the moon to shoot the everloving shiyte out of it. And I love them for it.
This explains the viral tweet 'moon's haunted'.
I can't see the moon anymore without my glasses 😂
Ese es el problema, si me dicen no lo veas, habra una fuerza imparable que me hará mirar.
Local 58... yikes
Nicely done! Reminds me of Bird box
The F in communism stands for food
Dull and the ending sucked
POV: You're witnessing a Gloomspite incursion.
But why she dont look at the Moon? Its so beautyfull
Why was the kid chanting, "Neil Armstrong, Neil Armstrong, Neil Armstrong"?
M O O N That spells terror.
Lunar Bird Box
You woke me up to tell me not to look at the moon? Well now I have to look at the moon.
awful, it felt like watching a cartoon more than anything else. felt uninspired.
1:20:50 - Allen single handedly giving women's rights back
You got Joseph Smith Sr. to do this!!? The pull! 🤯 So weird seeing him saying "sexy".
Ngl, if someone told me not to look at the moon, probably the first thing I’d do is look at the moon
Here’s my rating overall 5/10 I like more suspense less overuse of effects. Maybe if the father wasn’t yelling and keep the sort of creepy calm he had at first and gradually moved into yelling as a big crescendo I would have enjoyed it more but it was still good.
As soon as he turned around i had to laugh 😅
Well this was disappointing.
Wow, so is this what it's like being an introvert? 7:25 Also you have to admit that out of context this scene is pretty funny: how it feels when you stub your toe
Cool! A bit reminiscent of "Village of the Damned," and I was the kid who freaked out... still am by any horror film with scary-ass eyes. 😱
analog bird box horror??
Wow this is brilliant, the best I have seen on CZcams. More please.
This is eh
This sucked
They defiantly used samsung s24ultra for the moon shot
Getting “When Day Breaks” vibes with this one x.x
Turn around...BRIGHT EYES
😂
I like the woman
S.D. Locke's Proposal, version B.
So if you look at the moon you get like possesed or something?
Thats a very mysterious concept for Horror but interesting.Reminds me of episodes from the twilight zone.
When I saw the dad's eyes at first I laughed ...............I know it is supposeds to be scary, but I wasn't expecting his eyes to loook like the fking moon haha
Beware the cosmos. -a certain lord of mysstery.
I totally forgot that this was your short films channel and was so confused when Jono appeared out of fucking nowhere 😂
I love how Alan is just alan
The premise is scary, but the execution is a little hokey. The special effects on the eyes and the voices is something that an eighth grader could do.
Aliens used moonlight to invade everyone. Maybe the sun was just too big and hot to manipulate, too unstable. Or a Cthulhu cult did some kind of lunar ritual.
Cool idea. Terrible execution.
[SPOILER] Dunno this started really good as a psychological horror, but then tried way to hard with the glowing eye zomby things.
I liked this. There’s something uniquely fear inducing about the moon something that can’t truly be avoided being the main antagonist. It’s also got me thinking about SCP When Day Breaks. It’s like how do you avoid something visible to us in our sky
I _knew_ I recognized the Cinema Therapy guy. I saw this yesterday and it finally hit me today that's who it was. Awesome. Good stuff! :)
Why is LOCAL58TV not credited?
When you order Bird Box from wish
So...inspired by Local58?
Really enjoyed that, cheers
I would remove the CGI and lights from the eyes, it would make things more threatening. Looks too cartoony, and it's probably a lot of work to add those effects. But, I really liked it.
Bro pulled an M. Knight Shyamalan (he was in the window looking at the moon)
