Also our most important player, Zlatko Junuzpvic got kicked to pieces by Hungary. For the 2021 Euros noone could have considered us as any sort of dark horse. The football we played was dull, Franco Foda by far the worst possible manager for the squad. We looked good against Italy because the squad had effectively srted a revolt against the coach and did all of the tactics themselves.

we arent in good form atm, our best bit is our backline, our midfield is meh, i hope fdj wont be out for too long after el classico and our attack is definetly mediocre for the standards we used to have

I might be wrong, but I think Austria is going to disappoint. History shows that Austria never had any good runs at the Euros and World Cups. Yes, 3 years ago they finished 2nd in their group (losing only to *surprise surprise* 🇳🇱), but they did end up losing against the later champions Italy. Austria will finish in 3rd, but I doubt if it will be enough to claim a spot in the round of last 16.

My (Austrian) dream scenario, that's not extremely unrealistic, is this: Austria 1:1 France. A dirty draw to start off the group with the same result we managed to get in only Ralf Rangnick's second ever game as our manager. NED defeat POL. AUT 2:0 POL. Sorry Poland, we are just better. FRA beat NED. this would then mean that the Netherlands HAVE to play for the win against us, which means there's a lot of open spaces for us to exploit with the typical Red Bull- Ralf Rangnick-high press.
