    You can really "make it happen" when you demo a pedal. The arrangement is fresh and rejuvenating. It's almost as if the sound of the pedal inspires your next move. I like this pedal alot. Sounds like it could be run with just about any number of effects. Great video.

    Thanks for sharing. This was the best review of this reverb unit that I have seen. I am choosing to extrapolate what this would sound like when plugged into an analogue synth and find that ambient style guitar playing is close enough for me to get a feeling about how it might sound. I am also building an electric bass tanpura with a friend and the ambient guitar is very close to what it will sound like.

    A lot of people complaining that this pedal lacks fx volume. Deal breaker for many. Thoughts? For $300 would not expect this.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety +2

      I personally think it has enough volume for typical blends between wet and dry, but I can see why some people might have an issue. What it lacks is the ability to remove the wet signal entirely with the blend knob. To do that, you will need to use the kill/dry switch. And just to be accurate - it's $225 USD as of August 2017.

    • @shatnershairpiece
      @shatnershairpiece Před 7 lety

      Chords Of Orion Thanks. Think I will get it anyway. It's only $80 more than a HOF and sounds better to me. Doesn't sound like the fx level is a major problem. Will also get the canyon ehx to combine with it. The $300 I mentioned was the Canadian price.

    @ChARlesFeRris Před 7 lety

    nice review! Question: I want to be able to go from a subtle reverb to total reverb washout in not much more than a single nob turn (on recorded loops). Sounds like I'd have to flip the kill dry since fx level all the way to the right only reaches about 50/50. Any popping - or other weirdness - happen when turning kill dry on? thanks.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety

      So I tried it out on my Immerse. Flipping the kill dry switch back and forth does not interrupt the reverb signal nor can i hear any pops or clicks.

  • @kernelspy
    @kernelspy Před 6 lety +1

    Which is better this Immerse or Stereo WET? I currently have a WET but I'm reading some comments that Immerse is not that lush or wet ?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 6 lety +1

      My personal preference is the Immerse, as it has the Hall reverb. The one thing to note is that you can't remove all the dry signal using the mix knob. There is a kill dry switch, but having the mix go from 0% to 100% wet would be better.

    Hey Bill.....I have the Boss RV6, how do you rate that against this awesome Neunaber?....the sounds are definitely different, the Neunaber seems to have a never ending echo that sounds simply vast and I love the sound but it is expensive and I am wondering if it would be worth the purchase since I already have a reverb pedal?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety +2

      I personally prefer the Immerse over the RV6, but if you are liking the tones you are getting from your RV6, there's no need to pile on another reverb. I personally like having more options in delays than reverbs.

  • @nazmoking3171
    @nazmoking3171 Před 6 lety

    Hi Bill, I'm thinking you are the best possible person to ask my question. I'd like to emulate the Immerse's "Shimmer" effects on a traditional multi-effects pedal (Zoom 3Gnx) using one of their built in reverb and/or delay pedals to create the "Shimmer" sound that you get with the Immerse. I am thinking it's simply some combination of Reverb + Delay to accomplish this but not sure how to arrange the settings to emulate it. With your work in this area of experimentation, was hoping you might have some insights how I might create this effect?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 6 lety

      I don't really know how you would create it on the Zoom. A shimmer effect typically has a pitch shifted tone in the reverb or delay repeats. I this is not built into the multi-effects pedal, it is going to be hard to recreate unless there is also a pitch shifting effect.

    • @nazmoking3171
      @nazmoking3171 Před 6 lety

      Ah, good to know about the pitch shifting. It does have a pitch shifting effect built in as well so, knowing that, I can experiment with that while applying the delays and reverb. Thanks for letting me know!

    Want to buy a reverb pedal to start experimenting with ambience guitar tones.... What you advise? Immerse or the T2 from TC?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 8 lety

      If you are looking for more general use reverbs, the Immerse comes out ahead a bit. Also it has shimmer, which the T2 does not have. The T2 is awesome, but the reverbs are more specialized for ambient patches, given the amount of modulation in the reverb types, so some folks do not find it as useful. On the other hand, the T2 has the TonePrint slot, so you can download any reverb preset from TC Electronic or make your own with the TonePrint editor. It's also a good bit cheaper than the Immerse.

    What are the primary differences you see between this pedal and the Strymon Big Sky?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety +2

      The Immerse is much simpler than the Blue Sky. There are no deep editing capabilities. If you are a tweaker, then the Blue Sky is for you. Also, I feel like both Neunaber and Strymon have distinct views on voicing reverbs. It's pretty easy to tell the Neunaber sound from the Strymon sound.

    Bill. Great demo. I like how you explain the product then demo it also the small screen in the corner as you play the pedal while keeping the product itself on the big screen. How does it compare to the recent TC Electronic Trinity reverb pedal you recently demoed? Thanks for posting .... Great sounds.

      It's interesting that you would ask about the T2 compared to the Immerse. I was playing around with both last night. :-) Anyway, I think that the T2 is more of specialty reverb and the Immerse is more general purpose, at least in the context of ambient/space guitar. That being said, the sonic quality of both pedals are very good.

    How do you think this would sound on ukulele? I do live gigs where I do original ukulele compositions and I would love the shimmer effect! Great demo BRO.

    am I right in saying if this pedal is buffered bypass means it cannot be battery powered alone?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 8 lety

      The Immerse does not take a battery. It requires a 9V power adapter, which is NOT included. And since it is a buffered bypass pedal, it does require power for any signal to pass through the pedal. Hope this helps to clarify!

    I just bought an Immerse based solely on this video. Amazing channel, btw! I was also considering the new Mooer Ocean Machine but the simplicity of the Immerse really won me over. What, if any, chorus would you recommend? I've had an old vintage DOD 565 A sitting around I might just use. Before or after the Immerse?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety +1

      I am hot and cold on choruses these days. However, I do think that the Immerse Expanse system has some nice chorus options, and I recently reviewed the Source Audio, which also had a lot of options with the Neuro app. Since you have the DOD, it's worth trying it out with the Immerse. I would put before the Immerse for sure.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 5 lety

      Depends on your requirements for a reverb. If you need more flexibility and great sounding reverbs, the BigSky. If you are looking for a simple reverb that does ambient halls and such really well but has far fewer features, the Immerse. There's the budget thing too...

      Thanks for the reply! I actually already have a few reverbs like the neunaber wet and hof mini. I love both of those but I’d love a reverb pedal that can get extra dreamy and big. I play at church and would love a big angelic reverb for those times we’re kinda winging it or when someone is praying or something. They love when I do the ambient stuff, which I should thank you for. I’ve been studying your channel for about a year now and it’s opened my eyes to the possibilities! Thanks for what you do!! 🤘

      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety

      Yes, I have a demo here on the of the T2: czcams.com/video/frvFUrrffDw/video.html. I think they are both great reverbs, however I think the Immerse is a little more versatile in its types of delays. The T2 reverbs tend to be more specialty settings vs. general purpose use.

    Hello Bill, great video! Your playing is amazing! Does this pedal still support mono in stereo out when turned off?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 6 lety

      Hey thanks! If you put a mono signal into the pedal, the dry signal will still be mono coming out of the pedal even if you are using the stereo out. In other words, the left and right outputs will be the same signal if the effect is bypassed. The reverb effect is stereo even if the signal in is mono. Basically, it works the way all stereo effects should work, if that makes sense.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 7 lety

      The Big Sky is a great pedal and is more flexible / configurable compared to the Immerse. It is however, a good bit more expensive.

  • @edgareduardovillalobosport4853

    do you think this sounds better than the bluesky? I can't decide.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 8 lety

      I don't have a Blue Sky to put side by side to the Immerse, but I suspect it've more about how they are different vs. which one is better. That being said, it's possible that the Immerse may be a little more focused on ambient types of patches.

    i guess i’m not understanding what stereo does here / via something like reverb. are two different sounds being produced that are distinguishable, or is it actually just a two mono signal split.

      This pedal can 1) pass through a stereo signal from inputs and add a stereo image reverb around it and 2) accept a mono input and add a stereo reverb image to it.

      +Chords Of Orion The wet reverb comes in stereo like the immerse. I need stereo to pair with my stereo volume and timeline. I'm deciding between the wet and immerse. Your videos are great and I enjoy your guitar playing. Keep up the good work. I also wanted to mention 1776 effects if you like diy work. They have a great delay pcb, 2 delays and a modulation add on. I'm going to build one soon.
