    *2 Things. Sorry I labeled it as 8K 30fps it’s 8K 24fps like I said in the narrative. Also the screen recording portion the wind was blowing like mad so the iPhone screen was shaking more from the wind so that isn’t the stabilization that is messing up.

    They're both awesome phones and I honestly think they're so close in everything that it just comes down to personal preference. They both have different categories for the camera that they each win on. The only reason I would go with the ultra over the iPhone is because I like customization and Android allows for the most options for making your phone unique in its own way. I also like that Samsung has more camera options for both video and photo. Also I agree with the comments stating to do a comparison after Samsung releases the updates. Android's updates to its software can be pretty dramatic. For instance I have a Samsung note 20 Ultra and the night vision mode when I first got the phone compared to now is completely insane. A night photo on my phone literally looks daytime cuz you can see everything now... but when I first got the phone it didn't have nearly the clarity it does now. Judging by various video test comparisons I've seen, I have a feeling there's a big difference in video between the Snapdragon and Exynos chips. A video test I saw on the Exynos looked horrible! The stabilization was great, but the quality of the video looked bad. Video during the night was extremely poor too, certainly not worthy of Samsung's claims of a big improvement. However, your comparison here, definitely shows great performance in those areas. That's why it leads me to believe that we could be looking at yet another situation where customers will not be happy getting the Exynos version. I hope to see someone do a vigorous test of the S22U, between both chips.

    hi danny great review as always. totally thorough and on point. main take away - portrait mode is very very good now on samsung, but boy, video, the snapdragon footage looks MILES better than the exynos variant video footage. having watched the Brit reviewers (exynos) it's very clear the difference. samsung, that's a disgrace. seriously.

    You should also do a test showing the following. Record videos side by side then open photos app edit the video by trimming to same lengths then upload to say Instagram then check quality of upload then compare. I’ve always been curious on who does that better

    10x optical isn't always used in darker conditions.
    To be honest are the differences pretty small. You can see it if you hold them side by side but otherwise they're both great. I have S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro but the iPhone isn't always better in night time video. When auto fps on, the frame rate is 24fps so when panning it becomes choppy. When auto fps isn't triggered than the video is a bit darker but less noise which I prefer but detail can sometimes lost in the noise reduction.
    4k60 on the other hand is much better on the iPhone compared to S21U

    Best camera comparisons on the entire CZcams platform and it is not even close. As for the question yes, Samsung has definitely improved their video, especially their daylight video, I hope they improve their night-time video, I am hoping they will do something great with their software updates as they usually do, but overall, I think it takes the cake over the iPhone as a complete camera package with pictures combined but I will wait for your camera photo comparisons.

    As a very contended S21 Ultra owner I must compliment Samsung on the photographic performance of the new S22 Ultra. Anyone buying this phone should be excited about what they will soon be getting. It's camera software and optimizing looks bang on in all departments with many improvements over the already impressive S21 Ultra BUT I just have to high five Apple over the video quality of the IPhone 13 Pro Max. They really do nail it here especially in low light noise control which looks pretty remarkable to me and so smooth and detailed that it would be video to play on a large screen with pride whereas I would avoid filming such video on my S21 Ultra I must say. Well lit or even fairly well lit video looks GREAT and so stabilized on my S21 Ultra I must say in it's defense on ALL lenses too.
    Both the S22 Ultra and IPhone 13 Pro Max are brilliant phones and anyone who owns either (or has just ordered one) should feel bloody happy with themselves. 👍👍

    • @stefw0200
      @stefw0200 Před 2 lety

      To switch without break the SoC / ISP has to deal with both lenses simultaneously. They can do normally, but 4K/60Hz is the heaviest load (besides 8k ) possible so it seems to be too much. And that's reasonable. Why add otherwise double computing power to SoC / ISP when it is only needed in this one rare scenario? I mean double power coats much more and for what?

    • @Solista670
      @Solista670 Před 2 lety

      For me this is a huge fail. We typically never record whole vide with 3x or 10x zoom lens. We record with main camera and the need to zoom just for couple of seconds. This is not possible with s22 ultra, unless we sacrify either resolution or framerate :( Too bad.

    I'm Samsung User since the beginning and never had an iPhone, but I hate how bad Samsung, and maybe all Androids are in terms of video. The iPhone just has a clear video without any artifacts. Meanwhile the Samsungs video IS an artifact. In my opinion the iPhone does way better contrast, less artifacts and smoother stability. When the Samsung stabilizes the frame and you move out of its stabilization capabilities, it makes a hard movement and rips the frame out of the stabilization. The iPhone just does a smooth turn. The photos may be great, but I really don't like Samsungs videos. I bet you can record 1080p on the iPhone and it will look better then 8k on the Samsung. The heavy artifacts just destroy the whole video function in Samsung phones.
    Edit: You can't see the heavy artifacts I am talking about in this video. To understand what I mean, what the video of Mrwhosetheboss. He had many more scenes where the lighting was not as perfect as in this video. Furthermore we haven't seen much camera movement in this video. Thats where the iPhone is way way better in my opinion.

I wouldn't think it would be that hard to tweak the Red sensor, or what ever they have to do to fix it. Looking forward to it..Thanks again for the Fantastic review..:^)
