"Walking is the best medicine" - Hippocrates
Walking is essential for good health. Walking research is very clear. If you take a 30-minute walk each day, your heart will be dramatically healthier. As you walk, your heart pumps in a nice and relaxed manner, circulating oxygen-rich blood throughout your body. When your body is receiving this vital oxygen-rich blood and nutrients, your body and tissues stay younger and healthier. The benefits of walking for exercise are infinite.
Is walking for losing weight effective? A 30-minute walk can boost your metabolism for up to 12 hours after the walk! Pairing a healthy diet with a 30-minute walk can help you lose weight without exercise. Additional benefits of walking include strengthening your bones and improving your attention and memory.
Taking a walk after eating a meal is a great idea. Walking helps to decrease the blood sugar spike that happens after eating a meal. Start taking a walk every day and let us know how you feel in the comments below! 👇

In 2020, I was over 300 pounds. Back then I could barely walk 1000 steps for 10 minutes and feel winded afterwards.
I saw multiple videos about the benefits of walking. I started to walk for my health.
Today I am the healthiest I have ever been. I have lost over 100 pounds. There are days I can walk 16,000 steps. I sleep better. My mood has greatly improved. I am more confident.

I just found your channel and subscribed. I appreciate your direct, no-fluff information, backed up by science. After a lot of inactivity this past year, and knowing I needed to make some changes, I acquiesced to my adult son’s invitation to walk together. It was difficult at first, and I insisted on staying close to home so I could stop when I was tired. We live in a hilly area, and that was challenging. We now walk nearly every day - from 2 to 7 miles, depending on our schedules. Hes wanted to walk after dinner, and I have not been willing; I guess you’ve changed my mind.
My son is a huge inspiration to me; he almost never sits. In fact, he often eats his meals while standing and walking, coming back to his food after a few minutes. We live in Montana, and I’m already thinking about what I’ll do when winter comes; I don’t want to walk on icy streets. Guess I’ll have to join a gym with a walking track.
Thanks again for the great information and inspiration.

My two big dogs require the same. An hour of moderate walking/day in 2 or three walks, has cured my big 110 lb. boy of hip dysplasia. He isn't limping any more. It took about 7 months. No more chasing balls and quick reversals. Very bad for dogs' knees and hips. At least half the walk is on grass. Some slow jogging. I'm 72. I live on a hill, so every walk includes up and down. My total time per day: 2 hours. Even during COVID. Nobody dares stop me. Lolol Oh, yes. I did get a bit sick once in April. Don't know if it was COVID. I had been taking oil of oregano for 2 months prior. I added Co Q10 (co-enzyme Q10) and shark liver oil, bromelain to prevent blood clots, and my normal Vit C, zinc and Vit E complex.

I added walking to my daily exercise program and without dieting in any way I moved from 275 pounds to presently 220 pounds in only 6 months. I dropped from size 42 pants to 38 and may be moving to size 36 soon. My mental focus has become very clear, I no longer suffer from depression, my blood pressure was high when I started but has normalized to about 131 over 70 taken just a few days ago. My breathing has improved and the oxygen level in my body has become very good, Even my eyesight is improving and my sense of smell and taste is increasing I find that my taste buds reject foods that are not good for me -- i don't think about it -- it just happens. I find myself craving apples for instance, and I never really cared for them before walking. I have people who are overweight ask me how I lost so much. I tell them all I did was added walking to my daily habits. For some reason people reject the idea and think you have to follow rigid diets etc. And lots of people will say walking is good for you BUT THEY DON'T DO IT.. Lol And they wonder why theiy stay overweight and havae so many health probllems.

You need to do a fit grandmothers too❣️ I really like how you put in the science in being a retired nurse. Because recently finding out that weights are more important than cardiovascular for weight loss yours convinces me both are important. And just from watching this video I decided after my prayer. In the morning which is about 5 to 6 AM I’m going to start walking for 30 minutes. I’m not Sure how long it takes me to walk to the park where there’s a lake I can walk around but tomorrow morning I’m about to find out and my mother and my son walked around the same lake and being in Florida you have to walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon after the sun goes down. So my best time would be in the morning. Since I’ve been doing daily intermittent fasting I will add after dinner walking just around my complex. Sometimes the older you get the harder your head but you also look at facts and that’s what you gave here today so thank you for that❣️🙏🏻

If I don’t walk my day is not the same. I get out my night time energy, stress. I have walked since I was a kid. Get yourself a stick and ramble. You see things, hear things, get out of yourself.

Thanks for the great info! Working two jobs, I literally have had little time for exercise over the past 1.5 years, however in the past week, I decided that I'll walk to work to get the exercise I crave, and it has been life changing!! I work from home, and work in my office 1.1 miles away - so it's a great work out, and I get in over 2.0 miles daily. On weekends, I go for longer walks and it's so pleasant - enjoying the fresh air! My body feels different, and I can even tell a difference in the way my clothes fit - it' truly remarkable - walking along with a healthy food regimen (I eat plant-based - lots of veggies, fruits, greens, nuts, seeds, beans, etc) is my key to regaining my health and improving my physical body! Thank you again, and all the best to everyone on your journeys...LD
