I would be ashamed to have an ex-wife like Meredith Baxter-Birney. Almost as much as being ashamed of formerly being married or even the offspring of Brucey Jenner. Apology but I am being totally honest.
I frequently waved to David Birney when we'd cross each others' path while jogging in Venice Beach, CA, in the 1980s/1990s. He was a good runner!

I've never heard of Lyubov Panchenko, but I find it unconscionable that she died of starvation. This one brought tears to my eyes and sadness to my heart.

She is a hero like Cesar Chavez, her death was a protest.
Likewise! so many people have died simply because of one mans ruthless ambition. What is even more disturbing is hearing how people are starving to death like Lyubov Panchenko, is the fact humanitarian safe passage would only be allowed if there was surrender to facilitate his objective without troubling his conscience. (As if he has one!)
I remember Birney more for his made for TV movies. He was a lot more versatile than many tried to box him into, with the shows.
I don't know what we'd do without the wonderfully done work that Legacy does. I had not heard of David Birney's death. Thank you for the beautiful music accompanying these.

Saw David Birney many years ago at the Muny in St Louis, He was in “ My Fair Lady”. He was wonderful.

Before her death, Naomi and Wynona Judd were planning a reunion tour for The Judds and preparing for their enshrinement in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Also, Country singer Mickey Gilley passed away at the age of 86 on May 7.

Indeed she ended her own life, according to her own daughter. Very sad.
R.I.P. to all honored here. This video in particular has touched me because although I never met Neil Adams, I was friends with his daughter since elementary school, and we recently became acquainted again when she was kind enough to help me.

David Birney, always a good guest star on many a television show, so many to choose from.
He guest starred opposite his then wife Meredith Baxter in an episode of the 70s TV show "Family". He portrayed a school psychologist wrongfully accused of child molestation.
I remember a really good episode of Hawaii 5-O he did back in the 70's.

I saw David Birney at Lincoln Center Beaumont Theater in the round in the play Antigone. I remembered the audiences gasp when he came on stage for the first time- he was so gorgeous.

OMG! This is the first I'm hearing of the death of the wonderfully-talented David Birney! He was one of the most popular actors of the late 60's, when he first appeared in the soap opera " Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" opposite a young Donna Mills, and later starring with his then, real-life wife, Meredith Baxter-Birney in the 70's sitcom "Bridget Loves Birney". Why is it that the mainstream media continues to ignore the passings of such iconic stars of the past, while analyzing EVERY step of the likes of the Kardashians?!

I had NO idea he was even sick, they mentioned & showed photos of Neal Adams& the gentleman van?Even though he was older he looks Younger,that may be why I'm so blown away by the announcement of his death He had this eternal youthful spirit just like his ex Ms Meredith..they were/ are both so beautiful ! How many have passed that so many of us may have have never known about unless we caught this. We may continue to see them in films and hear them when past interviews are played imagining they're still with us. Rest in peace Naomi Judd.

I always thought Neal Adam's was one of the best comic book artist,I really respected him for making sure certain people in the industry got at least part of what they was due. RIP sir.

It is interesting that she mentions that David Birney and Meredith Baxter played a married couple, but not that they were actually married. For years she was known as Meredith Baxter Birney.
Since Meridith really regretted marrying him, would it really matter?

My first crush was David Barney. I used to watch the soap ‘Love Is A Many Splendored Thing’ during summers & holidays home from school when I was a young teen. He played the lead role, Mark Elliott & was married to Laura, played by Donna Mills. Leslie Charleston played her sister. Great soap. Then of course I was a fan of ‘Bridget Loves Birney’. Sad to hear he passed away & especially to such a crippling disease. May he Rest In Peace. 🙏🏼

David Birney died too, one of my favorite actors. I remember him and Meredith Baxter Birney in the TV show, Bridgette Loves Burney.

Before all the government appointed positions by presidents to Norman Mineta, Norman was 1st our mayor in San Jose, Ca.

In the later 80's Norm's office (I was in his district) arranged 4 tours in Washington DC for myself, & my 3 children.
With docents waiting for us we visited & toured (missed the Kennedy center), the National Archives, FBI building, and the US Printing Office.

Oh no! Not Ross Marlowe! I loved Guiding Light from my early teens till I had kids and my life got too busy with work and raising a family. I kinda sorta kept up with it, but didn't watch it rabidly like when I was young. Ross (Jerry Ver Dorn) was like everyone's uncle. The GL family was like family to all who watched. I did manage to watch the very last episode of GL, and it was a huge walk down memory lane, with all the old characters coming back for the final moments!
Really got into Guiding Light when the character of Ross was dating the character, Evie, and continued watching through the Ross and Mauve, Kelly and Morgan, Nola and Floyd, and Reva and Josh era. So sad that so many of the great soap actor/actresses from the 70's and 80's have passed these past few years. They gave us some memorable afternoon TV moments...

Idk what's sadder to watch a loved one get devoured by cancer, diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's or addiction 💔. It's heart wrenching when you see everything that makes that person special being destroyed then they're gone🥀.
