I’m appalled at how the hospital handled that whole situation. In my experience kidney stones are so so horribly painful and they usually admit you to help control the pain and they bring in a urologist to help get the stone broke up and out. They can shock it so it breaks up and comes out. Also it sounds like he had a terrible allergic reaction to the pain meds which they should have gave him something to counter act it. They really dropped the ball. I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. So glad he’s feeling better tho. And for the 4th we’re not doing anything. My seven year old son has autism and doesn’t like fireworks and stuff, so we’ll be in the house with the windows and doors shut lol.

Me too honestly it was horrible and I would have taken him to the larger hospital in the next town but he was hurting so bad I didn’t want to waste 30-40 mins driving. Our neighbors have been shooting fireworks for a week already. I hope your son and family get the peace you deserve in your own home during the holiday. Thank you for the info, we will be discussing the options if we need to but I won’t be okay with them cutting him before they have tried other things first.

I am so sorry you and Steven, (or Stephen?, that is how my husband spells it), have gone through this. Ugh. What a stressful time. I know what that is like. I am really glad your work was so nice to you!!! That takes so, so much stress off of you! That way you can relax and not worry they are mad. I am glad he is feeling better, but I would still have him talk to the urologist about why this happened, and how to prevent it, etc. Also, I think there are other things they can do to break up kidney stones before surgery as an option. Like, isn't there a medication for that? I also vaguely remember something about like an ultrasound with vibration or something to break them down. I'm not sure. But surgery would scare me for the kidneys. I would be cautious they didn't damage any of the kidney while taking out the stones. I hope you two can get back to your normal routines and feel "normal" again. lol Keep us posted. I can't wait to find out who wins the cat, mouse, moon, witch B6 cover! Where will it be posted? Take care!

Thank you so much. It has been an ordeal. I will request other treatment before I will ever be okay with them cutting him open. Mine spells his Steven 😊, my mom always spells it Stephen on cards 😂 he doesn’t mind. For the giveaway I will do the drawing tomorrow evening and probably post on both here and instagram just to be sure it’s seen 😊.

Oh no. Sorry about your experience with urgent care. In the future go to the emergency room. They have urologists on staff that can come down and see you while in the ER if it is urgent.

Thank you 😊 we went to the ER first. They were the ones that gave him the medicine that dropped all his stats way low and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Our hospital isn’t the best, we opt for the next town over when we can make it there.
