When we stayed on Pigeon Forge we took ehr trolley back & forth to Gatlinburg. They weren't free but it wasn't expensive.
The Gatlinburg trolleys are free, the Pigeon Forge trolleys charge a small fee, but like you said not expensive.
We stayed at Camp LeConte one year in our pop up and took the trolly back and forth a lot. Pretty handy. The drivers are great. If you take it too late in the evening you'll no doubt encounter some drunk folks though..lol.

We’ve been seeing the Benz Taxis off n on here lately. There are Ubers, but it may take awhile for them to get to you, just FYI.
How difficult is that first step on the trolley to step up? I know weird question but I was super embarrassed when we went to Waco and I was trying to get up the first step into the bus. I backed up the line a bit. :( Oh gettin old sucks but it's better than the alternative huh ;)
It depends on the sidewalk-know that’s sounds silly but, the taller the sidewalk the easier to step up. There are handrails to help you in and out of the trolley too. Sure know your concern though!
