How To Install A Guitar Pedal DC Jack

Here's a quick tech from the project I'll feature in my next long format video. Using hand tools takes some practise, but it is satisfying and enjoyable, even for a small job like this. Here I create an oval hole that accurately matches the profile of a plastic 2.1mm DC jack for this DIY guitar pedal build. This way, I can tighten the nut internally without needing to hold the body of the jack to prevent it from turning.

Great video! I’m going to try this. Do you know if there are small, female terminal connectors that can attach to the small spades on the back of the female jacks? Thanks for posting this video!
