How Scuffed Is My iPhone 12 Pro After 2-Years Without A Case?

- I’ve used this iPhone 12 Pro without a case for the past two years as it was just too beautiful to cover it up and I much prefer the feel. I’ve only dropped it two times. The major one being on asphalt while getting out my car when it fell out of my pocket which caused a scuff on the right upper corner. Otherwise, I’ve kept a glass screen protector on it as I’m not completely mental. If you go without a screen protector, I question your sanity. It goes in a dedicated pocket, and I am conscious of where it is. Overall, it still looks almost brand new. The camera bump has the most scuffs. It’ll be interesting to see how the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasts as I’m doing the same thing. Do you use a case on your phone? Why or why not? Let me know in the comment section I’d love to chat.

Honestly, iPhone's hold up EXTREMELY well over time. There is nothing wrong with this phone and it is in perfect condition. So, I think as long as you are taking care of your phone there is no reason to use a case. That's not to say I don't have one that I use when going into an particular tumultuous environment. But I think this is proof enough that these are built well.

My last phone was a Galaxy Xcover Pro, and I mostly went case free on that, but it's a rugged phone with a rubberized shell. My current is an S22. In the very cool looking mid-cycle Bora Purple, I'd love to go case free, but glass front and back means I have a case, and I'm still worried about it. I think I was traumatized by the really tiny falls that have broken most of my phones over the years. I'd say more of my phones have cracked their way out of service than aged out.
That’s totally fair. It all comes down to the individual. I’m not sure if I’m just lucky or if I have just learned how to avoid risk well. As on the extremely rare occasion I drop my phone it is usually on padded carpet. Or has survived the small drop. The only phone that has ever broken on me fell out of my pocket at the movies and got crushed inbetween the seats which would have been crushed with our without a case. Now when I go to the movies I take my phone out of my pocket. Lol
I have a caseless iPhone 13 Mini in green since it came out ✌️ also no display protector, completely naked.
Some micro scratches on the display and a very fine dent on the frame but I don’t care about that
Love it. Still don't know how you do it without a screen protector.

I have since gotten rid of it. So I can't tell you the exact battery percentage. But I had no issues with it and think it is was still like 96 - 99%.

for me phone (no case, no screen protector) goes in left front pocket, keys/wallet in right pocket
though personally don't go into extreme environments at all

Also, totally fair. Dedicated pocket is the way to go. Also, if you aren't in extreme environments where that is an issue doubly so! I'm happy to hear I'm not alone.
Interesting, screen protector but no case. I do the opposite. Thin crystal rubber case so I can grip it and no screen protector. I need to feel the screen and see the colors without anything in the way. Grip I need. Don't really drop my phones
Totally get wanting to get the correct feel! But how do you prevent microscatches and scratches on the screen? Or do you just not mind it?
@@ThomasMuehler yeah I get a couple microscratches I just have learnt to live with it as a tradeoff for the feel. I use the phones as much as I can then pass them down to family

I usually don’t use a case and my 11 Pro which I recently sold to my uncle also held up unbelievably well, my uncle was very happen with the condition. Also Apple with the 11 and 12 Pro released 2 back-to-back amazing “exclusive” colors for their respective years with midnight green and pacific blue both still being my favorite. The sierra blue and deep purple on the 13 pro and 14 pro I’m not feeling.

I am with you on that. I am extremely disappointed by the colors of the 14/14 Pro lineup. The 14 Pro black is probably one of my favorite blacks they have released. But Deep Purple is meh as are the rest of the colors. I wish they didn't get rid of Blue. And it would also be nice if their "Pro" phones also came in more colors in general. Seeing how popular and expensive they are. I do remember that Green and it was excellent though I never had it.
