- How Much Does It Cost To Service A Mercedes-Benz? Mercedes Benz Maintenance Service
I’m taking my 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML400 4Matic (a one-year model) SUV for service (maintenance) at the Mercedes Benz of Draper dealership. The ML 400 SUV has a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The engine sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes' seven-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic permanent all-wheel-drive system. I absolutely love this SUV as a daily driver because it’s extremely reliable, robust and powerful. Despite being a 5,098-pound SUV, it does 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and through the quarter mile in 14.4 seconds at 96.1 mph.
Let me know if you want to see a full in-depth review of this magnificent Mercedes-Benz SUV.
It may surprise many that service doesn’t cost much for the ML400. The dealership performed “A Service” which cost $212. And that not a lot considering that I perform service once a year or every 10,000 miles.
What’s the Mercedes-Benz Service A Checklist?
Mercedes-Benz Service A* is performed after one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Although the services performed can vary depending on the model year, Service A includes the following services:
Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
Oil Filter Replacement
All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
Tire inflation check and correction
Brake component inspection
Reset maintenance counter
I hope that this video provided proof and insights into what goes behind a basic Mercedes-Benz service.

Don’t let people scare you. These oil changes and such are not difficult. I do my own work on my Mercedes. Buy the OEM parts, filters, fluids at Mercedes. My oil change cost me about $80. Brakes weren’t bad either. I’m age 64. The hardest part is getting my fat self back up off the ground!
That’s great to hear. It’s one of those things I’ll give a try one of these days. Was it a steep learning curve? Did you run into roadblocks when you started?
LOLOLOLOL
I owned a 2016 GLE 350 AWD for 8 years. I just sold mine back to the dealer for a fraction of what I bought it for. I drove it sparingly and nothing big really broke down. However I never spent less than a 1000 every year on basic maintenance. Sometimes it went upto 3000 for the year. All this while I was losing an average of $5000 on depreciation every year. I would agree these are great to own if you know how to maintain them yourself. Unfortunately I am not so it's back to driving a toyota and 50 dollar oil changes.
Bought a used GLA 250 with 50,000 km over the summer and absolutely love it. Love driving it on sport mode. It’s a rocket SUV. Fun to drive, and the quality and finish are great. It was a huge step up from my Mitsubishi RVR, and aince I always by my cars used my GLA only cost me $5000 more than my used RVR, both had the same milage but the RVR was one year younger. Canadian prices BTW.
Great video! Keep it up! Good views too 😎
This is what I needed because I was scared of high Maintenance benz but now I see it’s not that bad
It can definitely be bad.. make sure you always inspect everything and listen for weird noises. This was A service. The more miles, the more maintenance needed. The more maintenance, the more expensive. B service could be 500-1000$
@@Okamiiee yeah, I never did get it 😂
@@Okamiiee thank you so much for your comment though it helps.
I’ll probably get a Hyundai or a Mazda they’re very reliable which means they don’t have issues a lot and the maintenance isn’t that expensive
You crazy as hell 😂
Loved.

Can someone explain to me why I would want to service my car at the dealership vs the local car guy?
I am buying a car and I have mercedez in sight but I want to know how much are the repairs for whatever might go wrong on the car.
Utah though. Try these Services in NY or CA.
I live in Chicago and i have a GLE 350 4-matic 2016 Service A is $250.00 Service B $750.00 if they find any problems and you tell them to fix the recommended problems then you can imagine what the bill is going to be. I had a problem with my Sirius satellite Radio they said it would cost $1200.00 just to remove the drivers seat to get to the module. and if it needed to be replaced that would have been another $700.00 so i was looking at $$1900.00. So a service B and a radio fix i was looking at $2650.00 when they checked the radio was covered under warranty so i dodged a bullet with the radio. so now that i no longer have a warranty i take it Firestone for maintenance where prices are reasonable. The only thing you get with a service B is a complete inspection of your vehicle a d a new set of windshield wipers.
That’s not good. Unique sets of problems can cost an arm and a leg. Does your dealership post most prices up on the wall for general maintenance like brakes, transmission fluid change or alignment etc?
the only difference I saw between A & B is B also does the brake flush and cabin filter, but hardly worth the extra money. dealership is just silly with their charges.
I service my C-Class every three to four months. It does not cost that much for me, and there are some good deals. I do have some scratches around the same place you have them. I don't know what happened. It must have been a stone. I drive in a lot of rural areas and unpaved roads. I do also have to check if my car needs the suspension re-alined, because I hit possibly the worst defect on the road yesterday, and I was coming at very high speed. Essentially I was coming up to a bridge. It seems like the bridge and the road did not meet properly. Where the bridge begins was a higher than where the road ends, so it was like a brutal square speed bump. It really hurt.
Very nice car, man. That is my dream car. How long have you had the car for? Is it under a warranty?
You can also do more videos like this showcasing inside the dealerships. You can also do road trip videos or vlogs with your car too like MercBenzKing. It could be a really fun way to connect with us; your subscribers. Just a suggestion.
Thank you Lightning Farron! Definitely thinking of doing more of these type of videos once in a while. The SUV is under warranty even though its a 2015. I got an additional 100% warranty through the dealership. These SUVs are built pretty tough and a few potholes don't usually mis-align the car. Thankfully, I didn't need an alignment.
“It seems like the bridge and the road did not meet properly.”
I hate when that happens.
do you service your car at the mercedes’ dealer ship? or else
1st thing to do is get a Good Independent Mercedes Specialist!, Forget dealships they'll pay it half the attention but double the price! This is identical to mine Tenorite Grey, but mine diesel & Black leather, Great Motors !
It’s one of the best engines! I’ll research for good independent Mercedes specialists in my city.
Where were you, that place is beautiful
Salt Lake City, Utah
Mercedes knows how to reel em in 😂😂😂
When I sold my Mitsubishi RVR, I was looking for the same size suv in the used market, and I was even considering a Mercedes because I thought it would be too expensive to buy and maintain. Well I bought a used 2017 GLA 250 with only 50,000 km on it in mint condition for only $23K CDN. New they cost about $44K. Forget the brand for a aecond, the drive is absolutely worth the money. The only drawback is No Spare tire. This model uses Flatrun tires which give you a 100km range ro find a garage, and then the tire needs to be replaced. On two years I plan to sell it ans buy a Honda Ridgekine sice I will need a midsize pickup , but for now, this is fun.
You guys on the south are lucky. Here in Toronto my service A -350 , and service B $700 US$.
Why so much on service B I’m thinking about getting a C-class
@@JSmith-wi7sg because it b money honey
hey man, im from toronto as well, I'm thinking of maybe getting a used benz is it worth having one or does it get to expensive to maintain?
Im in the south, paid $700 for Service A. Service B is probably more it seems.
W166 is also my daily driver. Although mines is the GLE after the car went through a facelift.
It’s a great SUV. I love how they drive - agile, dynamic and powerful sleeper SUV.
How much for an automatic transmission fluid change on a 2011 E350?
Service is categorized into Service A and Service B. Service A is regular oil change service and its often ~ $250. Service B is more expensive and detailed. I'd suggest to call your local dealer as they may have discounts available.
Where is this? Where I live Service A starts at $700, Service B starts at $850. I will have to examine myself if I do not know how to check/replace fluids and filters.
It's Utah. I have scheduled service for the SUV next week. I will try video the entire process. I even have a valid coupon to Get 2 A-Maintenance Services For One Price. Price is for two Service A's for $198.
I guess $200 is not crazy expensive but what do you get for that price? I bought a 2020 GLE SUV 450 in April.
Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
Oil Filter Replacement
All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
Tire inflation check and correction
Brake component inspection
Reset maintenance counter
Mercedes Lounge thanks. Well. At least the synthetic oil is kind of worth it. It can be expensive. Double and triple price of authentic oil.
Richard And it’s better for your engine.
Mercedes Lounge yes. Thanks.
So you pay for one time service 200-250 if I got that right, for oil change and small check ups. I do the same and pay 49 dollars in average. I don’t understand why people have to go to a dealership with it?? Especially to mercedes?? I do it with a small mechanic shop for long time now, very reliable people!!! Just a little tip, you don’t have to go to a dealership….
It's great that you found a reliable mechanic shop that offers affordable services! It's always good to explore different options to save money without compromising on quality.
what did you hit at @1:03? 😂😂😂😂
Most cars require service every 3 months. Yet you say service may begin a year later why?
3 months??? No car I’ve owned had required that
Not bad until things break.
We just boug. A glb 250. Last year in October. And will be doing service a. For the firs time. Since we bought it. Is going to cost 425. Dollars here in Cali USA. Is that expensive. I don’t know.
That’s reasonable. Talk to your dealer about discounts. My local dealer offers me free complementary service every other year. So, sometimes I pay less than $100, or just the price of the rental which is usually less than $20.
What are you talking about that you take other cars for every 3 months. Also service a Mercedes Benz is a hole in your pocket. my wife gle 350 2022 I paid 725. For service which included oil change oil filter and cabine filter. I used to have a Toyota and Nissan never took them to dealer services did my own tune up for 45. Dollars. Don't understand what is so great about getting rip off
Your dealer must be expensive then (most of them are unfortunately). I typically pay half of that amount a few times even for service B (don’t replace wiper blades and that $95 off the final bill).
Every 6 months or 5k you need to service you car for oil change if you want to be cheap and break the engine go head every 10k or a 1 year
It’s not being cheap. I’ve owned Mercedes-Benz (2 models) for over 10 years and that HAS NEVER HAPPENED. And I drive less than 6K miles per year! If you follow recommended services, you’ll be fine.
@@BenjaminMutuku Hello, where do you recommend to get the service done?
Wow. What an epic rip off!!! Wheel alignment in a state of the art garage that only does wheel alignments is $60! Oil change is $70! I wont even comment on the rest of the "service packages". Even though I do not live in the US, the prices in the Benz dealership here are very similar to those in the video. No sane person ever goes there . Even very wealthy people don't go there for service! Its such an obvious rip off!
So where would you recommend to go before the dealership?
While under warrantee, dont you have to go to dealership garage?
$70 won’t even buy you enough engine oil or the oil filter. These engines use full synthetic oil (10k service interval/once a year). So good luck finding a place to do an oil change on a Mercedes for $70. As for the alignment, Only a Mercedes’ dealer will have the alignment specs and adjustments available to them, I have yet to see any independent alignment shops with camber and caster adjustments or specs available.
If you have to ask, don't get one.

I will never own a german car again
mercedes in the us are made in the us, german made ones have much better quality, look up scotty kilmer on youtube about it.
@@kravez16 How is that so? It doesn't matter where the factory is located. The machinery is programmed to MB's specs, the employees are trained to MB's requirements and most of the materials are shipped from Germany for the car to be assembled at whichever factory. My German made MB and an Alabama GLE or GL doesn't feel any different since the specs to which they're built to is the same.
@@IKhanNot That may be right but the people that put the cars together definitely don’t have the same experience, if you want to hear it from a respected youtuber on the matter search up Scottie kilmar, search up Mercedes it should come up.
@@kravez16 I'm aware of Scotty Kilmer's stance on car brands. As for the employees at the Alabama plant for example they're trained to the standards Mercedes and BMW outline for their employees and those decisions are made in their respective German headquarters. If somebody gave you a GLS 450 for example and slapped on a sticker saying it's from the Deutschland you'd believe them as the build quality and fit/finish would be the same. The QC standards are outlined by the Germans. Why don't you search up issues with German built examples... There are plenty and it's not the factory's fault. It's the faulty design from the engineers.
@@IKhanNot They can’t just “slap on a sticker” because there are other ways to find out if the car was actually made in Germany aside from the differences in quality, I can’t speak for US made cars as I’m from the UK but from what my friends that live there told me there is a noticeable difference in build quality.
