Thats quite strong as far as i am concerned, especially for white mold. I use 1 part peroxide to 9 parts water, and it still took care of the mold problem just fine. (As well as saved me a lot of peroxide comparatively, which is good because i have a ton of plants to treat. )

I tried this, twice, with two different strengths and new soil. I washed my plants thoroughly, and I had fungus again in two days.
I'm using cinnamon and it's helping the fungus, but my soil isn't draining well. I used 40% perlite and chicken grit and 60% peat moss. Which worked last year, but isn't working this year. Idk 🤦🏻‍♀️
My bf (mycology enthusiast) says peroxide does stop the spread of certain shoes, but white mold spores get all over your house and are tough.

I found white mold on my prayer plant, after sprinkling some baking soda it almost killed my plant! I ended up repoting him, and when I did I discovered he had more mold and may have been root bound! He’s been in the pot for a few days now, I’m praying he’ll bounce back! This plant traveled 900+ miles with me to live in my new home, I don’t wanna lose him 🥺 definitely gonna try the cinnamon trick for next time!!

Ugh! Some of my plants have that. It seems to happen more in the ones in plastic plant pots. I guess, in my case, it has to be lack of airflow through the soil. Another great informational video. 💁🏻‍♀️🌱👍🏻

Never thought of Cinnamon for white mold. With the new soil I use, I dry it out the part that is prepackaged. when I mix the soil and the fired clay pebbles together I let it dry out before use as it flows like water around the roots, and then water the soil heaps when I re pot. I found I never have had mold or fungus. I found most pre package soil contains mushroom compost which will breed mushrooms and mold and insects. If I have sick or bad soil I do a full re pot and wash roots of all soil, Same for insects as they can have eggs in the soil or plant and gives me a chance to see the whole tree, I think ocd gets me to do that lol. Also some of my trees a worth a lot and a lot to me so that's why also, Its also a good chance to see if the roots are affected. Great video and very informative, You are doing great. What I do is more for bonsai, I just thought it may help someone out with a different prospective. I love what you are doing and teaching, keep up the great work and look forward to the next one.

Good morning to you Erica, I have always wondered what the white stuff is on some of my plants. I thought it was mineral buildup for using faucet water. I actually thought 💭 of using unfinished bottled water. “ there wasn’t enough to go around lol” so I stopped worrying about it!!!
I did however invested in a 3 in 1 moisture, acidity, and light 💡 meter. I have to tell everyone that was the best thing you can do for your plants 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱. I haven’t had any molds since and haven’t overwatered either. This was an excellent topic for all of us plant collectors. I did want to mention about how to use the moisture reader. There were no instructions with mine. I looked it up and found a few articles on the way you should take a reading. It said to stick the two prongs in at half way from the center of your plant and half way to the pots edge. How far to go down, said push prongs down to the halfway point of the meters length of your pot. I was sort of all over the place when I first started using it. I kept getting very different readings too. Thank you for the knowledge I can never learn too much specially because I spend a lot for my beautiful plants 🌱.
Oh I wanted to say I just bought a senseviera “moonshine from Amazon very similar looking to whale fin plant. I opened the box and was so disappointed cause over half of the tips of the plant were broken over. I bought from someone I’ve never bought from before . I just hope that it grows into a nice looking plant and the foliage callouses over. I took my clean pruners and cut them off with an shapely manicure. 😭 so sad. I hate when people are not trained in packing live plants. Thanks again for the video. Take care of your baby plants 😊. ✌️TW

I repotted my snake plants last week and noticed white mold on the soil of one plant. I did water and fertilize after repotting and noticed it after a week. I think I packed the soil a little too much. I did sanitize the potting soil before hand and did a 50/50 mix of soil and perlite. I scooped the mold off the top and loosened the succulent soil up with a butter knife. I'm going to try the cinnamon trick too. I don't want this to happen again

For me I definitely overwatered. The crushed eggshells I added for nourishment may also have contributed since its organic and therefore is being broken down on the wet soil. I covered the top in humid plastic. All very bad combinations clearly. I removed the plastic, added cinnamon and won't be watering for a good while. I guess I'll see where it goes.

Same thing happened to my plants . It’s not a good idea using cinnamon . 😬My plants died. I had to change the soil. 😔
Since the white molds ( Saprophytic fungus ) on the too of the soil are harmless , I will just brush them off as per another Plant Tuber’s advice. And the molds will go. 😊

Guys, this white mold is called mycorrhizal fungi and it's good for your plant!
It keeps it healthy and helps it grow. Green and black mold = bad, white mold = good!
Do some research on mycorrhizal fungi and keep your plants healthier than ever

I haven't had an issue with white mold in my soil in forever until I got this tradescantia wandering jew. Boooo. It needs to go away. Lol I threw it in front of a fan to dry the soil out quicker (I repotted it yesterday).

I have poinsettias that o am trying to keep alive. They had not been watered since before they arrived to me. I read that since it's winter where I am and they're a warm climate tree that I should only water then when they're dry. The soil always felt wet and spongey to me do I didn't water them until today. They arrived to me I think November 29th and today is December 15th. They had some mold on the top of their soil so after I watered them I sprinkled them with cinnamon. I'm hoping they do well. Some are making new leaves. They live in my kitchen which is the warmest place in the house since we keep the house at 63 degrees year round. In the kitchen it's above 65. Maybe 68.
