The movie was weird and gross, but the song at the end made me cry. Heidi's struggles on stage were heart-wrenching. She was manipulated by someone she thought was her friend and ended up killing everyone except the ones who showed her kindness. I saw myself in her, feeling bullied and betrayed by supposed allies. Despite her terrible choice, I feel sympathy for her and would give her a big hug. I'd tell her she matters and that there are better ways to fulfill her career without being stuck in a toxic environment.
I feel like the whole movie gives off that vibe, it may be the dark lighting combined with the content and puppets designs or something idk, it has a weird exploitation-like aesthetic that make it guaranteed for anyone who’s seen it as a kid to mistake it for a fever dream as they get older, it’s hard to describe

Then I decided to watch 'Meet The Feebles', a film about animated puppets, with my own animated doll companion - I wanted to show it to her. SHE absolutely loved the film, and this song, and demanded that I add it to my playlist of delightful songs. My life is very strange and wonderful. Animated puppets/dolls are awesome!
