    This and the 1966 were the best all-round Cadillacs made. I grew up with them; they were as quiet and comfortable as their progeny aren't.

    Now THAT'S one of the most beautiful Cadillacs I ever saw!

    This is absolutely beautiful. Cadillac would make so much money if they starting making EV’s that brought back this look.

    My dad had a 65 Sedan Deville. It was the first car i remember us having as a kid. His was Calypso blue,at least i think that was the official name of the color,as per GM. Thats from a long bygone era. Still beautiful.

    My Grandfather had a 65 Fleetwood that he actually gave to his daughter / my Aunt when she returned to college later in life in the late 1960s, and he replace it with a '69 Fleetwood. Even though I remember riding around in the '69, the '65 is what I remember as a kid be a pinacle of design. Just beautiful. What happened to the '65? My two cousins had it out, and drove it into a tree near their house. They blame each the other for that. It's a painful memory, and I am actually trying to find a photo in the family album of that car. It had the style / presence / seriousness / and dignity that actually reflected my Grandfather very well, but also the features and quality befitting of a Cadillac that was whittled down gradually. And this video is fantastic in how it shows how this car not only keeps up, how smoothly it corners, etc. The only good thing about "They don't make them like they used to" is that something so flawless remains an original work of art, and desireable like it should be.

    I have a 65 DeVille conv that I've owned for the past 25 years. Love it and I get loads of looks and compliments on it. But as I recall, these Cadillacs did not come with a hood ornament, at least I've never seen one with one, but I will say, I like it very much. Maybe I'll have one installed on mine.

    Variable ratio power steering was new for full size GM '65 cars. Before that, more cranking was involved in steering.

    I had to see this car again ...wow ! If the cornering lights are not working.... it's the wire harness in the steering wheel shaft needing replaced...I had this done to my 64 Coupe Deville.... they worked fine after replacement of harness..... I like those lights.... it's a touch of class on Caddy's when turning and it's a signature thing for Caddy's...... Bobby

      A lot of people back in the day called those cornering lights "wh#re finders". HeHe! : )
      I have those on my '68 Cad Convertible which has a similar front end to the '65.

    • @MrTitan225
      @MrTitan225 Před 3 lety +1

      I always liked cornering lights...they add some class to the car when turning.....I had a 67 Coupe Deville....your 68 is the update style of my 67.... I like the 68 much better....your cornering light stay amber until you signal to turn when you have your lights turned on...1968 USA cars had to all have side marker lights, by law.....1962 Cadillac was the first GM car to have cornering lights.....Caddys were first for these lights.....bet your 68 is sharp....a rag top is so cool.....your 68 is also first year for the 472 engine.....my 67 had the 429 in her for last year of this engine size...Bobby, West Pa......

    Beautiful car. Would look better with a black convertible top. This was an era when cars had style and class. Now cars all look the same. Molded plastic and fiberglass.

    Forgot the cornering lights, She's a dreamboat! I hate you got the red interior and I have black & grey. Is that the original Vogue spare tire? that's rare! And if you park it somewhere when you come out there will be people with cameras around it. I own a 65 Fleetwood Brougham next to the limo nothing was as big as the Brougham. At car shows when little kids come by I invite them to climb in the back seat, I tell them my brother and I didn't sit in the seat we played on the floor & drove our toy cars on the seat or sat Indian style across from each other playing cards or checkers. Great presentation!

      Then I’d bet yours has twilight sentential, headlamp control, tilt/telescope wheel, auto level control, 6way power seats, signal seeking am/fm stereo radio, triple c horns, power wind wings, night/day rear view mirror, power door locks, auto trunk open and pull down, mist/delay wipers, cruise control, what am I missing?? 65 is one of my favorite Eldorado convertibles although I do like the real wood door capping and bucket seats available on the 66 Eldorado too. My red 1957 Eldorado Biarritz convertible with fiberglass parade boot and Sabre Kelsey Hayes aluminum wheels isn’t that shabby either!!.,
