I just found out about these guys a couple of days ago when my son turned me onto "Honeybee". An amazingly emotional song. I've been catching up on who these wonderful people are and how SPG came to be. I'm now so much more impressed with their incredible talent having seen them interact with kids, on panels and in interviews. And I didn't think I could be more impressed after hearing a few of their songs. They truly are something quite special. And now I see this video of them playing in Balboa Park, San Diego. I was born in LaMesa, Can, and as a child I lived in a little hilltop community called Crest, up from El Cajon. I'm now 56yrs old and cherish that time of my childhood as one of the happiest and most magical times of my life. My memories of Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo and of Disneyland in Anaheim still come calling in a dream from time to time. That was back when I could fly, ya know. I rode my first roller coaster in Balboa Park. We used to go to the beach not to far from there and surf, pile jellyfish and eat dozens of little, rolled, string beef and guacamole tacos from a stand on the beach. Wow. Thank you SPG for the flood of sweet memories. Don't ever stop doing what your doing. You're all amazing people with a real gift. I'm going to sleep now to fly over my little house in Crest. Goodnight.
I love rabbit so much she seems like such a fun presence preforming, you can feel her energy even through the screen I can only imagine how incredible she must be on stage :D
I noticed a lot of differences between Spg now and the. One of the main things I always pick up on is Rabbit's facial expressions. They're less quirky and strange now. It's not a bad thing but it really stands out.
@@amanitavirosa1999 actually if you look at their newer stuff she has gained a fair bit of weight. either she's not keeping fit or she doesn't want to get rid of it to try and have a more feminine figure, I dunno.
@@tylermech66 its a well known side effect of the hormones actually. They make it *extremely* easy to gain weight, and far more difficult to lose it. But she is much happier now, so imo its a fair trade off.
yeah they do. I think small stage and busking suited them so much better, more room for improv and casual humor, doing stage shows doesn't seem natural with it. And even though Sam is a great band member and his voice is incredible, he doesn't have the mime skills that the twins do or that Jon had when he was there. But yeah, they seem to be focusing more on the music now than the robot-mime side, which is what sold me on them in the first place

I don't get it why people say that they're more robotic here. Just watched one of their youtube concerts - they move very robotic! And they make a lot more of the "trrrr-tss-tss-" sounds.
Alex Gun I think that it’s a mix of nostalgia and fans missing older members of the band. Since the original robots had all studied miming and theatre, it follows that it’s a bit unfair to judge the newer members by the same standard, especially when they were settling into their new role. Another explanation is that their performances were much shorter during their busking days, and the band had to cut down a bit on the more emphasised movements to be able to conserve energy throughout a whole long concert. Finally, all of them are getting older, David and Isabella are 33 years old. All of them have said that they aren’t exatly in good physical form, and atleast David, The Spine, ironically enough suffers from back pain.

You lose absolutely nothing by calling Rabbit or Isabella she/her at any point in her life. This is just a respectful attitude for literally any trans person. The in-universe backstory says she was originally meant to be built as a female robot anyways, so even for story reasons saying he/him doesn't make sense when she was always mentally a woman anyways. What SPG calls Rabbit at any point is their own decision because, you know, they're not complete strangers to each other and literally made their characters. But do you see how maybe strangers shouldn't be casually misgendering someone because they hadn't transitioned yet or why that would have unfortunate implications? Because let's spell it out: It implies it's ok to misgender people for not "looking" their gender or not having transitioned yet All else I have to say, is I consistently see people in SPG videos having no idea how to talk about trans people normally. My heart goes out to trans woman especially for the amount of obnoxious treatment they have to go through. Also my appreciation to any nice, polite SPG fan who knows when to not TL;DR No, literally only she/her is valid. The only valid pronoun to call someone is the pronouns they want to be called

Chris Bennett (Rabbit) keeps his head shaved. It makes the makeup easier, and as he tends to find any excuse he can even outside of the band to wear fancy makeup and/or costumes, it just made life easier in general.
