It is the greatest with no close second, not "one of". Nobody has ever come close to the skill level of Torvill and Dean. Queen Kamila is the greatest hope and only because she never had to contend with the timing of a partner.

I remember watching it live, it wasn't ''one of'' the greatest and most iconic staking (sic, I think you've been google spellchecked) routines, it was THE greatest and most iconic skating routine every. It will NEVER be equalled.

Fun Fact: Jane and Chris began their 'Bolero' routine on their knees because the music was 18 seconds longer than the rules allowed...but they spotted a loophole which said that the clock didn't start until the first blade touched the ice. The rules were actually changed afterwards to close this loophole.

Torville and Dean!!! I remember watching their ice dance live some 4 decades ago and just being mesmerized by the softness of their leg and foot movements and amazing synchronicity!!! They had an unrivaled elegance that’s difficult to articulate - you have to see them. Their performances had a way of drawing you in …in a way that I haven’t seen replicated by any other ice dancing pair. These days ice dancing is such a frenetic jumble - and at the expense of the graceful flow and rhythmic beauty. To me, Jane and Christopher defined the sport, and I’ve yet to see any others match their✨ magic. ✨

Brilliant -- but she didn't "die on the ice."
I saw it on TV in '84, it was breathtaking. By the end of the routine, I was standing and cheering by myself, tears in my eyes. It broke new ground. Started a whole trend of skaters dying on the ice for years, until everyone got tired of it. Still: they brought ice dancing into the 20th century, and influenced figure skating, too. Great to see them.
